1) Viofo A129 Pro 2) 70mai A800 SE 3) Vantrue N4 Pro 4) Qubo Hero Pro I have these 4 in my cars. My favorite app to use is Qubo, it’s very user friendly and it’s a breeze to set up and get it running. My favorite image quality is Vantrue, it’s pristine and read things super clear, day and night. My best VFM has to be 70mai tho because the Vantrue is nice but pricey and 70mai does 90% of the stuff for a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps ☺️ Edit: I would also suggest getting front and back. It’s more peace of mind. You’ll have more evidence and more angles covered.

Yeah so get a [70Mai A510 dual channel](https://www.amazon.in/70mai-Recorder-MaiColor-Playback-Monitoring/dp/B0CVH2K929?crid=1133VJQFKRF1I&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1fnV-uSDjqXMfhZ2zUwauiiwuQ9rb4ofa3fGGvLyrcx-SiarifFVVgWkvWNocMoUIQRirO2kOqMOGps7uCwslaoLAJOmPVDwFJ7nzyZf_Q3rdf86BqIe-Pp6ZrxSMl8mqYPFw-jmiX9bZR-lYM_tF0O8vDNW_G-7rT9gHk2yWRYaMX73t9a4d-fsIuFsZQPM0qIQtb7Zuurib5b3QajWLcPJoMslihjJZsIgBdfWMbk.9ItgfeuP_x8beBOfOPKUZnd2ps-QSIy8JITeRMaN5MM&dib_tag=se&keywords=70mai&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1745219218&sprefix=70mai%2Caps%2C262&sr=8-3&th=1). It fits all your requirements. It's 13,999 at amazon today. Or this one from [Qubo](https://www.amazon.in/Qubo-STARVIS-Channel-Display-Supports/dp/B0F2237M2D?crid=37O96VJPL1FL3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.UpmEsijHDw1Np1wq8K1IZEAhVXr-KSVXV2kzeuBAz6f1x6-avvzb0P5ZZf8kkFO1enyoXnjmSBbeePVuo1bv3-lM5LjCp3rZgnWMe40ka9w66iSnImGVwLCgeA-wHPw0iiw1ILeVAHA9fQIC-gVNM-uVJR8bjIDNk0yCU7gpmP0DfrJUvgXrV2JpiNLnJZOkqxALkxxin_VBUzZYLKzqeop2DK6xjW7oX97OQH4vq1w.vURXKZCYou6XTfnqcspQwsCESQ-zNX-gfTfZ_UDFGqY&dib_tag=se&keywords=qubo%2Bdashcam&qid=1745219154&sprefix=qubo%2Bda%2Caps%2C261&sr=8-4&th=1) Both have a starvis2 sensor at front and is dual channel. Can take a 256Gb of memory card, too. > Any idea on what things to look out for if I’m getting it installed from outside if SC guys don’t install the one which I purchased from open market Nothing to look out for, really. It's a simple job. They'll tuck most of the wires in between interior panels and door seal biddings. Just make sure it looks clean. I see only 1 inch of wire each attached to camera and a further couple of inches in the power outlet. Everything else is tucked in neatly. If your car is in warranty (and maybe even if not), I'd recommend against going for hardwire option. While it has some advantages (like parking surveillance), most installers will cut some wire to attach it instead of installing it properly in a fuse box.

Does that have a starvis2 sensor mentioned? That matters for low light clarity. Honestly, I’m not the best person to advise on warranty minutiae. While doing it using fuses properly “should” not void warranty, I won’t be surprised if they pinned an electrical issue on this and charged you full price when something goes wrong. I didn’t hardwire my dashcam, even though I know perfectly well where everything is supposed to go.

Qubo has super capacitor. Lithium ion tends to get hotter. But 70 Mai 510 many are using in India. So no issues with that.

Almost under the control of a similar budget, I went with the [Qubo dash cam](https://www.quboworld.com/dashcam). It is within your range, videos in good quality, and operates using the car charger port, no issues there. No battery inside but rather a capacitor, which I found better in heat (I am in India, and summers can be pretty cruel too). Worked really well in daily use so far.

I will tell you what not to go for. Qubo. I have had the worst experience with it. Took over 2 months to replace the defective product that they sent which had troubles starting after return window period finished on Amazon. But now even the replaced product is starting to have issues software related. I got tired of contacting the support again and again, and am maintaining it with some jugaad. Edit: And as others have suggested in the comments, 70mai is good.

First thing on the buy list: dash cam with good wide angle lens. BTET. Qubo is a decent choice. Trying to understand more about the incident, where did this happen? At what time? Colony bylanes? Main street? What speed were you at? Were you calm? Riding a car is a tough challenge, no doubt. Driving through a residential area with high population density is worse even to imagine. As a parent and with a family active in cycling for commuting and fitness, we often come across situations where the fault lies at both ends. Kids play, ride on the streets, as they do not have the luxury of a park or play area nearby. Kids in my neighborhood get to play during non peak hours on streets, vigilant as most of them are alerting other kids to watch out as a car/bike enters the lane. Some become more playful mostly try to mock a passing car/bike. That's how they are. Our street, the last lane of the gated colony connects to the main road. Outsider car/bike enter/exit the lane and speed up honking as they pass. A very dangerous unpredictable situation, often taken for granted. What they don't understand is that the speed needs to be within safe limits in a residential zone even if the street seems empty. When passing through bylanes, lanes within colonies, gated and ungated communities, it is ALWAYS the responsibility of the driver to be extra vigilant, drive at a slow speed or stay within the limits of the posted speed sign. This becomes a priority when there are no pavements at all. Ride safe, stay safe.
