I went with Redtiger F7N and skipped 70Mai. I needed an external rear powerful camera cause 70Mai goes inside the rear window and doesn't provide clear view in rains. Using it for 2 years and the customer support is fabulous too.

As an insurance agent, I think EVERYONE should have a dashcam. Preferably one with front and rear facing cameras. There are some great 4k cameras out there with Bluetooth capabilities. Viofo has some great cameras that get amazing reviews, but they are expensive. For more budget conscious individuals REDTIGER F7NP is a great option as well that has wireless, but it’s not Bluetooth. We have them installed on all of our vehicles.

I second this camera! I’ve actually had to submit video to my local police on more than one occasion and each time the officer complimented the clarity of the video and asked where they could get one.

RedTiger F7NP from Amazon and look for the "used" option. I have bought three of these as "used" and they are actually new, but packaging is damaged. Typically about $100. This includes a front and rear camera. I have them in all of my Subarus.

I have the RedTiger F7NP on all three of my Subarus. It records front and rear (using 2 cameras). The video viewer shows location on map, 3 axis acceleration, speed, and location, and multi camera synchronization (front and rear). It has the resolution to read license plates at close range in good light. Speed, location, date and time is imbedded in video.

I use mine to document police misconduct in their unlawful operation of patrol vehicles!

I second this. I’ve had two red tigers over the years and the features and video quality are great. You can get one with a rear camera as well as have it hard wired into the car so you don’t have cords all over the place. Connects with WiFi and and app.

There are 2 main pointers these days to keep in my mind before finalising a dashcam - capacitor instead of Li-ion battery and SONY STARVIS- 2 SENSOR for night vision. I bought the redtiger last year and its broken now. It keeps shutting off after a few seconds and when i get it to stay on once in a while it says that i need to put in a memory card even though i put in a new one. It wont let me reformat through the camera either.

Exactly what he said, only problem is wirelessly connecting to your phone via wifi. I have the F7NP model. It’s kind of a goofy system to transfer files, I just use the SD card provided and extract files with my PC. They claim to be 4K resolution in the front and 1080p in the rear, but I think they both look like 1080p. Still really clear though. Provided clear, valuable evidence numerous times. Functions for everyday use, I’ve had it for 3 years. The only issue I ran into was the SD card fill up and having to manually clear it in the first 6 months. Somehow the card started overwriting itself, honestly don’t know what happened but I’m not complaining. Overall, for the price, it’s worth it.

I bought the Redtiger F7NP and it fits pretty tight behind the rear view. I was able to very discretely run all wires except for a short length necessary to cover the gap to the rear window cam when the rear hatch is open. That has to dangle in order to still be able to open the hatch. The rear camera is so small that I have it tucked high and center on the rear window and cannot see it in the rear view. You will have to stick it to the glass and not the trim because the trim back there is suede/velvet like. It is super adhesive so consider this will you tint (I didn't so I'm not looking forward to the day I need to take the camera off) Quality wise I think this is great value for the money. 4K in front, can set to record on vandalize/bump if you hardwire it, easy to retrive via app (albeit slowly) Good luck choosing!

I also recommend the Red Tiger F7NP front/rear dash cam. I've had mine since April and I am **very satisfied** with it. I also purchased a dongar to power the cam from the rearview mirror power connection (*2017 Honda Ridgeline*). I don't use the WiFi function on my phone; it seems to be very slow trying to view or transfer event videos to the phone. I use the PC/Laptop app to view/save pertinent videos. With it; you can see both front and rear views simultaneously on the same screen.

i think more importantly than quality, you want more FPS. The more frames per second, the smoother the video will be and more chance to catch the plate. Thats why i went with the Redtiger, but i think those others can capture at higher FPS as well... as long as you drop the resolution down

I have the Redtiger F7NP 4K Front Rear Dash Cam, however I'm using the just the front. The rear mounted outside is difficult to keep clean, and inside mounting leaves a lot to be desired.

Most of the advertisements give unrealistic results, the micro cards do not come with the units, and you're better off with a large card. Keeping it active while parked could run down your car battery so be aware of this.

I just installed the Redtiger F7NP. Easy install, decent quality front and rear, surprisingly robust options menu, and it’s cheap. Fits right behind the rear view so it doesn’t eat any visibility, and I just move the mirror when I need to see the screen. I’m not recording to share online or anything, just for some added peace of mind in case of bad drivers, so the price point and quality really work for me. They also sell a hardwired kit for parked recording, also cheap.

Yeah I got one of these, wouldn't buy again. Had it bug out on me the day I was in an accident. Not sure why but I had nothing on the day or day before.  The footage isn't well organized when saved. I've had to hunt, driving vids end up in the parked car saved folder, minor pain I guess.  Quality is good, not 4k but more than good enough to pick up license plates. Has gps which is a bonus.Was an easy install too, came with a piggy pack plug for the fuse box, took under an hr to hide the wires for front and rear cams, and the parked car sensor does work well. Good, I'm still using it, but I'm wary and check it's working every day now.  sounds like more reliable stuff is out there at the $200ish mark

Video is clear and comes with an SD card. I looked at it on amazon for about 1 day and they endedip giving me a $50 discount if i bought within the next 15 mins. Ended up paying 135 CAD. which is not bad. Comes with an 18 month warranty.

Yeah the install was super easy. Was able to tuck the wiring in between the crevices along the top of car, didnt do anything to void the warranty. The front cam comes with a suction thing to attach to windshield. The gps portion attached to the suction thing can then be turned upward to really secure it. Does not come off easy. Quality of video is pretty good. No complaints so far.

I recently wired my dash cam to my 2003 Corolla I used the ChrisFix How to video on Hardwiring a dash cam. I highly recommend it, and my camera works flawlessly. Make sure you have a multimeter! camera is a F7NP.

Get the REDTIGER f7np. I have it on my 17 86 and it’s the easiest hardwire and it’s front and rear. Timelapse recording when it’s parked. So you don’t miss anything. And has an app you connect to to download footage if needed. I can help you hardwire it too if you’d like. It’s super simple tbh

Eh, I wouldn't call the output "great". I'm pretty underwhelmed with mine, but the install does look nice.

For the price we paid, I feel like it should be better. Or at least have some similar features of other cams, like a button to save/lock the current clip and have the option for GPS data.

There aren't any that I know of which is why I paid the fitcam tax. I had thought about trying to use the housing to fit another camera (many of these cameras have the same internals) or maybe find someone that can design one that I could 3D print, but I went the easy route, instead. I did opt for the front 4k/rear 1080p version, so I did have to run the wire for the rear cam which is a hassle. It really wouldn't be much more of a hassle to run a hardwire kit from the fuse panel under the glove box, up the A-pillar and out the mirror cover in hindsight.

whatever dashcam you get, make sure it doesnt rely on internal lithium batteries. Look for devices that have a supercapacitor in it. they are more durable and withstand high heat a LOT better. Get a real dashcam, seriously. I have the Red Tiger F7NP and it's freakin sweet. Only cost me $80 on amazon, unfortunately it's not on sale anymore. 4k forward camera, 1080 rear camera. Quality is excellent. My wife has a Garmin Mini, it does its job but costs twice as much as mine and has half the features. GoPros already have heat problems, that thing is going to die on your dash. Also they dont all suck, I dont know where you're getting that. If you're going off youtube videos, remember that youtube compresses the hell out of videos. It's all going to look bad.

I just did it this past weekend on my 2025 Crosstrek Limited. I put in a Redtiger F7N Pro front and rear camera. Mine doesn't have the auto dimming mirror and the plug was buried in the right side of the upper console. The plug was encased in a foam wrap. I took long needle nose pliers and got it out. It was the standard 5 pin Subaru plug. After that the hardest part was fishing the wire through the upper hatch for the rear camera. I watched a few videos so I knew what to expect. I have the Red Tiger F7N which is front and rear. The picture is great and mounting was easy. I bought a MicroSD adapter for my iPhone so I can access and download files immediately if I need them. I find that connecting via WiFi is slow on all the cameras that I have tried, mostly because of the interference of the WiFi from my cars. It was about $150 on Amazon, but I just looked and they are on sale for $109.99.

Oh yeah, I’ve got three with the front rear and inside cameras for my truck, my wife’s car, and my son’s. They’ve been running smoothly for two years now, and was obviously good to have after a recent fender bender. The camera quality is pretty great, and the app works flawlessly.

I’d also highly recommend the redtiger rear and front dash cam on Amazon, on sale for 85$ I believe, the customer service is rlly good and they sent me free replacement adhesive cuz I fucked up the first one as well as a longer usb c cable and a hardwire kit when I decided to go in that direction. I downloaded the vids and they were both really clear and I can make out license plate easily. Not affiliated but just thought the product was good, I installed one in my dad’s car as well.

No where to stick a rear camera on the soft top. The front and rear ones were around 130, the front only was 80. Have zero complaints

Last September I did lots of research to find a good dash cam and I settled on a Red Tiger 4K on Amazon. At the time I paid ~$177 AUD. It’s both front and rear. Good quality image. Low $100 should do the job. ROVE R2-4K Pro or REDTIGER 4K. I have both on different cars. Clear pics. On my ID4, I used Fuse #52. This is the rear trunk cigarette lighter power. Internet pic shows this #52 as one long Fuse, but it is not. It has two setup option, connect to the upper slot of #52, you will get power only when the car is On. I chose the upper slot setup. Lower slot of #52, then power is always On. YouTube has severals clips that show how to run and hide the cable. Be careful with the rectangular panel next to the door. You have to slide it to the side before pull out so you don't break it. One YouTube guy shows this briefly. It took 30-45 minutes to install front dashcam. I don't install the rear.

Personally I've been using the Redtiger 4K Dash Cam from Amazon. It's been great for me and actually useful when someone rear ended my truck earlier this year. It has a front and rear camera. I loaded it with a SanDisk 256 GB Extreme microSD and no issues. Suits my needs. I'm weird where I like to be able to see it visually recording. I had one previously that only connect via WIFI to my phone with no screen.

Cheap front and rear / 24h hi-res model (4k advertised) - RedTiger priced like 85 on Amazon rn worked for years for me. Definitely a foreign company with not the greatest app but I’ve never had trouble pulling video. Lets you put music and filters on your recordings too 😭

Got the RedTiger one in 2023. No major complaints. Video quality good, day and night. Get a polarising lens if you want, I didn't notice too much difference. Minor complaints: 1. The front cam can sometimes fall off if it's too hot outside 2. WiFi file transfer is way too slow. You can watch clips on your phone, but you probably won't have the patience to download 2 or 3 Also as others pointed out, unless you can figure it out yourself, it's about another $150-200 to hard wire it.

I'm pro dashcam. I have a redtiger brand one that's a good mix between price and quality of video. It's a good way to cover your butt if something happens or if you catch something happening to someone else

I’m using a Redtiger dashcam connected to the 12V socket, but since the socket is always powered, I have to unplug it every time I leave the car. Is there a way around this?

It’s not just dash cams though, building CCTV will do a lot more for you than just a dashcam if you park in the same place all the time and establish patterns in how and where you park. I could prove to the day when and how I was hit with a building cam, dashcam didn’t have footage back far enough.

In my experience red tiger was a cheap, garbage waste of money. The screen burned out within a year and wasn’t sure if it was still recording.

I just bought a RedTiger and I like it.

About a week, so it is not time tested. It's also my first dashcam. But the install was easy and it seems user friendly enough.

They are in fact relatively cheap, but they are no way garbage. I run them in everything. Front and rear cams. And I keep a spare around just in case. The only one that failed on me was in my side by side UTV and it shit the bed only after being hit with the pressure washer for like the 20th time. I would never have even thought about using a dash cam until I worked in South Korea. Basically in South Korea, if you can’t show the police who caused the accident, then it’s a “no fault” accident. Also, the old dash cam is pretty handy if a cop pulls you over. Kind of a nice feeling when the cop realizes that anything he or she says may be used against them in a court of law.

I have a red tiger dash cam that has multiple camera views. I've used it for years and live in South GA where it's always really hot. Never had an issue with the sticky messing up or the screen. The video is always crystal clear and it's easy to download the files straight to my phone

I have red tiger in my mdx. Got it on prime day like a year ago around $110. Self installed. So far so good. No issues with it. Good video quality. Just get a bigger micro sd card for it and it holds up nicely.

I was using it on my 2020 outback. Only issue I’ve had is the suction kinda sucked so I’m switching to an adhesive type of mount.

We use the Red Tiger for our fleet of trucks at work. It’s the best bang for your buck cam out there. Works perfect. No problems in 15+ trucks.

The app is ok, I did find my phone switching from the cam’s WiFi back to my trucks and losing connection. It’s honestly easier to just pull the SD card and put in your computer and pull the footage. It records in 5 minute clips with no loss in between clips. We put 256gb cards in ours and they record 3-4 days worth before it writes over the older footage.

Yeah, since it’s 4k video it takes up a bunch of space. If you get in wreck, pull the card immediately. Otherwise just let it keep recording over itself.

Skoda/vw cars don't need a hardwire kit. You can plugin any dashcam and it stays on 24/7 unless you plug out connector from 12V socket. I own a kushaq and use redtiger dashcam and I only plug out the dashcam whenever I don't need to use the car for more than 2 days.

This is common for all dash cam apps. Red tiger has the same issue. You can be connected to one WiFi connection at a time and since CarPlay connects Bluetooth and WiFi, if you connect to the camera, you disconnect from CarPlay. Then the Bluetooth kicks you back onto CarPlay again, booting you out of the camera. Basically you can only access the camera data by disabling Bluetooth and then disconnecting CarPlay to connect to the camera.

I definitely do! I've still had zero problems after 3 or 4 months. It's a bit of a pain to put up but I think that's just dashcams in general lol

We have a REDTIGER as well. We were able to locate a hit and run driver because of it. After that I bought another one for our other car. A camera is better than no camera

Looks very similar to RedTiger. Is it a dual dashcam or just the front one? Get dual dashcams. Front + rear. Sony Starvis sensor is better for night time clarity. Having GPS is a plus. Unless you want parking monitoring, hardwiring is unnecessary. If you have always on 12A socket then even that is unnecessary. You can easily install it yourself or get any accessories shop to install it for you and attach it to USB/12A socket.
