I had a Viofo A119S. In the first year it quit working several times. Customer support sucked. Within 12 months the GPS stopped working, then it stopped receiving power. I opened it up and fixed the supply cable and it worked again til just after the first 12 months, then the unit died completely. Really disappointing lack of support. I've heard a lot of rave reviews about their customer support, but definitely was shit in my experience. That said, I have installed these in my 2 Outbacks, and about to order it for my WRX since it's a great deal right now. I have a Rexing V1 which is hardwired into passenger footwell fuse panel. There is also an easier way to plug directly into rearview mirror power supply. I don’t know if that way allows it to work when the power is off.

I’ve been using the [Rexing](https://a.co/d/fEcUJaC) V1 for about 4 years. Never had an issue, set it and forget it. You genuinely don’t need tons of WiFi, Bluetooth, features that jack up the price. You’ll probably never need to touch it after setting it up once.

I bought a Rexing V1 dashcam during black friday sales off Amazon, and powered it via USB-C under the armrest, using an extended 15 foot Mini-USB to USB-A cable, with USB-A to USB-C adapter.

r/MazdaCX30 • Hey, can anyone recommend a good dashcam for your cx30? Did you power it via the usb c in the arm rest console? ->

I live in Houston (very hot) and have used the Rexing V1 for about 5 years. Never had a problem with it. I buy adapters from Dongar Technologies so I can power the dash cam off the rearview mirror. If you mount the dash cam where it is obscured from the driver's view by the rearview mirror, you won't even know it is there.

A good one is $120-$250, not $400. Just installed a 4k cam from Rexing in my gf's suv with a front/cabin facing cam and a rear cam from rexing for about $200. Great quality, super easy to set up (the app is shit, but you can just manually offload it with an sd card reader). I have a cheaper front facing 4k cam from rexing I got for $90 in my Silverado. Both have worked great and have gotten us out of paying for accidents that the other party has said was our fault when it wasn't (people just lack integrity in general these days). But yeah, you don't have to she'll out a small fortune for a Dash cam, you can even use klarna to break down the payments if needed. Imo, dash cams are worth it 100%
