Street guardian front/back. 10/10 First one is 5 years old and going strong. Second one is 3 years old same same. Just remember - place them high but under the path of your wipers…bc rain and dirty windshields. - replace the sd card yearly or every 15k. - have a phone card reader so you can bring stuff up on the spot - check your camera weekly to make sure it’s still recording - have all the chimes ON. In start up it chimes. When the camera senses a problem it restarts *and chimes* to alert you. The only thing I dont like about street guardian is the power supply. Either hard wire or I’ll comment later on with what I did. My 300$ camera got my 500$ deductible waived in a minor hit and run.
r/prius • What Dash Cams is everyone using? ->I have two cars and have Street Guardian cameras in both. They are fantastic and one camera is about 7 years old. You do have to replace the sd card yearly or every 15k miles, get one that’s dash cam rated, and make sure the camera POV is under the windshield wipers. The only problem I had is the power source dying but that was my fault.
r/wrx_vb • What Dash Cam do you have? ->Personally I’d go with the tried and true dash cams. I have street guardian cameras and they have been great for 5+ years.
r/Costco • Anyone have the Atomi dash cam or done any research on it? ->I have the Viofo A229 Pro 4k (too big), the Red Tiger 4k (it died 5 months in), the Vantrue N3 (died after 10 months), and I bought a Street Guardian - very similar to the Viofo. It lasted the longest but it's too big for the windshield. Most of the above beep or talk way too much (RedTiger model chatters way too much), not to mention two of them died within a year. All were hard-wired. I'm going to try the Garmin because I don't want a screen but I've heard the resolution isn't great compared to some others. It shouldn't be this hard to find a dashcam with no screen, high resolution (front and rear) and a product that lasts longer than 10 months.
r/dashcams • I analyzed the 25 most recommended dashcams on Reddit ->I've had Street Guardians running for 6 years now in two cars in Texas. AFAIK Viofo has a lot in common with the SG, though at a much lower price. Get the samsung endurance cards. Never had one break yet. Prior to that they would break every 6-12 months or so.
r/Austin • Learn me on your Austin dashcams. What holds up here? ->I love my street guardian, it is expensive but it is worth it for the extra security. It is a front/rear dual cam, but the screen is separate so you can throw it in a hidden location so it can't be stolen as easily, plus it was designed for Australian summers so it handles Texas easily. As far as installation, I went to flexshield over by buffet king on 288. I knew the owner so he hooked me up, but they did a good job on installation
r/Denton • Does anyine have any recommendations for dashcams and where to get one installed? ->Just a point of clarification, I bought the street guardian and brought it to them, I doubt they sell it there
r/Denton • Does anyine have any recommendations for dashcams and where to get one installed? ->I use one from Street Guardian, but it seems not to be available on Amazon anymore. I have one from Kingsllim also that works pretty well. It's like $100 right now on Amazon. Model is: Kingslim D4
r/Camry • What brand Dashcam should I buy ->I got a Street Guardian dash cam and had it installed (wires hidden behind trim and wired into the fuse box) for less than what an OEM Toyota dash cam cost. Plus it's much smaller than the Toyota dash cam and therefor is out of sight.
r/Toyota • Dealership Dash-cam ->
