I have a Thinkware F50 and have it front-mounted behind my rearview mirror, it's nice and compact, I have it "hardwired" by just running the power cable all the way around my front seats and have it plugged into a cigarette lighter outlet in my center console. It turns on automatically when I turn on the car. It captures audio but it has settings (a settings file that gets put on the SDcard) where I have the audio turned off. It's already paid for itself by capturing an accident where a car got hit and shoved into my car while going through an intersection, the other person's insurance repaired everything at no cost to me. The camera constantly captures video and when the card is full it will "loop around" and start overwriting older data. It also detects jarring motions and will automtically copy the last 30 seconds + 1 minute over to a separate folder on the sdcard so you can look at it later. The continuous video, and the "event video" are kept separate in folders. It also has a parking event capture (where it could capture hits to the car while parked) but I don't use that feature since it doesn't get power anyway when my car is off. The only drawback is you then have to wait to get home , take out the sdcard and read it into your computer. It's just video files about 1 minute long each. I have nice endurance 32Gig sdcard, no problems yet.

Ah interesting. I’m in Laredo and mine stopped working 4 months later. I just got the replacement today from BlackBoxMyCar. Was hoping it was just a dud but now I think it might be the heat. Before this I had a Thinkware F50 that lasted me a year and a half. Then I got a Thinkware F800Pro that kept on running for 3 years before I sold it. If this replacement gives me any other issues I’m gonna have to switch back to Thinkware, but I’m actually moving out of TX in a month.
