Biggest thing I’ve found is to pay the money, prob $150-$200 they’re all pretty comparable at that price point. I have a thinkware fa200 it’s been decent but the speaker and rear the camera have since quit working completely and the app is a bit clunky but it does the job, it is only front and rear though not 360. Also coincidentally mount in my third gen rav4
Wasn’t trying to sell it, wanted to pass on my honest experience lol, I do have to admit the video quality is pretty good. Shoots in 1080p which for 2018 was decent.
Aftermarket, hardwired, parking recording + g force logging, front and rear, optional polarization filter. Do research on actual brands but these are the things that were a must for me. [I went with Thinkware FA200 on my A4](https://imgur.com/a/8oTgIbM) with hardwire install.
I think a thinkware, I think FA200, front and rear. It’s good. Not perfect, but good enough that I’ve never cared.
Thinkware x700,x800 without any modifications or old school FA200 if you can find one. Otherwise I'd recommend you upgrade to something higher Video quality and change out the rear video cable
We have had a Thinkware 200 for several years. It's front and rear, costs under $200, and work just fine in the cold. They have other models too depending on how much you want to spend. I paid a shop to install and do the wire run to the back of the car because I didn't want to mess with hiding it behind a bunch of paneling. But it's not unreasonable to do it yourself either.
I second this. They did a great job - picked up a Thinkware front and rear dash cam set.
I tapped mine into the power above the mirror. Different Hyundai, but same concept.
Thinkware brand. I don't know the model offhand, but it's a front and rear unit and works very well.
For the most part, dashcams have the same internals, so do your research. I'm sure there's newer videos, but I remember LTT did a roundup pointing this out a while ago. A few years ago I ended up getting a Thinkwear "brand" front and rear.
Had a Thinkware front and back setup for 5+ years now with no issues. I recommend them.
Thinkware from Canada, get dual channel aka front and rear. They have nice features like battery voltage cut down to save your car battery or parking/driving recording when hardwired.
They are but worth it in my opinion, especially the extra features they come with, like the battery voltage monitor I mention earlier
