Think ware q1000 Decent software, good quality images. Speed camera database that to be fair seems pretty accurate and it's free to update. Motion and impact parking protection Only downside is the annoying woman on startup telling me to 'please have a safe drive today'
Nope as it has full motion detection parking monitoring It's also a good design that the majority of it is hidden behind the black heat diffusing dots by the mirror It's a thinkware q1000 so if you are that nervous take a look at that design and you'll see how easy it is to hide. Also means it's not in my field of view whilst driving
I have 3 cars with Rove dash cams, I price watch them on Amazon. They all work great and have been absolutely critical in two not at fault accidents. Without the footage I would have been stuck with a claim on my end. My other dash cam (my favorite) is the Thinkware Q1000, and I'll buy another Thinkware for a 5th car. (I have 2 cars, wife has one, and two kids with cars)
I installed the Thinkware Q1000 front and rear dash cam last November and it seems to be holding up pretty well… I’d recommend it.
Forgot to mention that it also notifies you of upcoming speed and red light camera traps. Not that it matters if you obey the rules of the road anyways lol, but i didn’t know it did that when i bought it, so that was a pleasant surprise.
this clip is from my think ware q1000 - I have it set to 1080p 60fps [https://youtu.be/oQULH59gQPg?si=tDAkjejiTWFS10dY](https://youtu.be/oQULH59gQPg?si=tDAkjejiTWFS10dY)
I've had a few dashcams and find 60fps is more important than 4k for reading number plates. I got a thinkware q1000.

This sounds like a problem with either the dashcams, or the SD cards, maybe both, nothing to do with how the systems are powered. I only use SanDisk High Endurance microSD cards (as recommended in the forum sidebar). I replace them every 2-3 years, or when installing a new dashcam, as a precaution. Is this free, no, is this cheap insurance & peace of mind, yes. Dashcam brands I have owned are Viofo (A129 Duo) and Thinkware (Q1000). I check the Q1000 once a month or so, to make sure it's been recording. More recommendations are on the forum sidebar. Hope this helps.
It's a decent value camera. You won't be disappointed. Buy a larger SD card and the thinkware cpl
Damn! That's decent. Can make out reg pretty easily on my phone when viewing in 1080p
Blackvue is the only reliable option and there's an ODB2 power option. I tried the Garmin Live and it was a hot mess - literally. Overheating, frequently claiming my car was stolen because the app didn't detect my phone. Missing video. Thinkware has an LTE unit for sale in the UK. but I've never seen it in North America. Nexar has built in storage so you tend to lose it all when the camera is damaged, and not reliable in general.
