The install is [$77.99 at Best Buy.](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dash-camera-install/4265502.p?skuId=4265502) I got a [Thinkware Q200](https://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/thinkware-q200-2-channel-2k) dashcam and the [Essential Install Kit](https://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/essential-blackboxmycar-install-package) at blackboxmycar.com. I think Best Buy has stuff (fuse, wiring) needed for install on hand if you don't buy the install kit, but I think they charge you extra for it.

Whatever you pick, I’d recommend against a camera that dangles off a mount unless it’s very small. I tried a Thinkware Q200 but I had to take it off immediately bc the Tacoma windshield is so small, it distracted my view no matter where I tried mounting it. I got a Viofo A229 instead and like another commenter, I mounted it in the black dot area of the windshield next to the mirror and I hardly notice it.

Thinkware Q200 front and rear. Get OBD-II power pass through adapter. Tuck the wires in the headliner and down the A pillar. EZ PZ.

I got thinkware Q200 recommended by the dashcam subreddit. It’s a two way with parking mode. Best Buy installed it with a hard wire for $99.

ThinkWare q200. The exact one Ford sells on their accessories site is sold by the manufacturer and Bestbuy for like $150-170.

ThinkWare Q200, Ford sells it via the accessories portal, but it's significantly cheaper from BestBuy. Simple set up, 2K UHD front sensor 1080p rear sensor. Front camera is the size of a large candy bar, rear sensor is about 1/2 the size of a AA battery. You can get a harness to hardware it to the fuse panel under the steering wheel.

Going to throw my 2 cents in. I got a Thinkware Q200 (front and rear). I could not find a good spot to hotwire it in the 2025. The fuse adapters I bought were too clunky. I ended up getting ForScan and an OBDLink. With this, I can make it so the cigarette outlet turns off power at 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes (I didn’t want the dashcam on all the time)

I just got the Thinkware Q200 installed on mine. It's a set it and forget it type of configuration - it'll keep recording and rerecording over old footage until I need to pull up my app and see it.

I just finished vacilating between Viofo and Thinkware. After reading your post I'm glad to have a Thinkware Q200 on the way. I think all of the brand/models that offer built in red light and speed camera alerts are good and that's how I filtered.

Thinkware Q200 is one of the better options for quality in your budget, and has built in voltage monitoring to allow you to ensure battery health.

Thinkware Q200 cam is a decent budget option with 2k and decent night vision. Thinkware U3000 is budget breaking, but gets you the great night vision expected from a starvis 2 sensor.

Any of the Thinkware cams with an ODB2 power kit. Q200 is a great basic cam. u3000 is best quality and lots of features.

Thinkware u3000 has excellent radar detection, but it's out of your price range. Thinkware Q200 is close to your price range and uses motion, vibration /impact, or time laps to record when parked. Available all over the UK, and asy to install with the optional ODB2 plug.

You can get the Thinkware Q200 with 32gb sd card and everything needed to install for $170 at most retailers or on-line from their site, blackboxmycar, or Amazon. It's a very reliable camera, and he can add a rear cam at some point in the future if he wants (or get one for his next birthday)

I just got a think ware q200 from [blackboxmycar.com](http://blackboxmycar.com) , it took an afternoon to install myself. Super happy with it. This website also has great reviews of different systems.

If you prefer just an aesthetic look, go for Q200. But if you prefer a dash cam with a remote access feature, choose Q850. Both are 2k resolution

i went down the dashcam rabbit hole a while back. r/Dashcam is *super helpful.* check their rec’s in the sidebar. i’m in the south, so i settled on a Thinkware (rec’d for hot climates) Q200. a front and rear cam kit is on sale on their site for $170. Best Buy sells them, and installs them. but on my 2011 Foz installation was a 15min job. just pushed the cable up into / behind the trim plastic. might be more of a PITA with EyeSight models.

just installed a Q200 in my 2011 yesterday. took all of 30mins. used an OBDii connector for power, but wiring it to the fuse box looks like as easy. Thinkware makes quality cams and has a bunch on sale right now, direct from their site. i just pushed the wiring up and along the trim. easy peasy.

I have a thinkware from bestbuy in my explorer. It has a front and rear camera (rear cam unfortunately connects with a long aux cable that comes with it. It has the option to be hard wired or cigarette lighter powered. Has an SD card. Impact detection. 2k front camp 1080p rear and nightvision. The new modules have GPS. They're about 200$ but I've had no complaints other than on cold days the programmed voice that plays when the cam turns on sounds like it's under water but then goes back to normal after the camera warms up in the sun.
