Whatever you pick, I’d recommend against a camera that dangles off a mount unless it’s very small. I tried a Thinkware Q200 but I had to take it off immediately bc the Tacoma windshield is so small, it distracted my view no matter where I tried mounting it. I got a Viofo A229 instead and like another commenter, I mounted it in the black dot area of the windshield next to the mirror and I hardly notice it.
r/ToyotaTacoma • for those of you who have dashcams, what’s the best one that you’d recommend? ->I got the Thinkware brand when I got my CX-30 because the dealership offered it and I won’t drive without a dashcam. I also liked that it would be built into the car so no hanging wires or anything. My advice - avoid Thinkware at ALL COSTS. The quality is shit, my rearview dashcam doesn’t work for no reason at all, the app doesn’t work half the time, etc.
r/MazdaCX30 • Need a dash cam that goes well with my CX-30! ->There a several good options. I use the Thinkware Q200. Performance is good and you can power it from the Homelink Rearview Mirror with an adapter from MX5Things.
r/Miata • Dashcam for ND Miatas question.... ->I have the Thinkware q200 front and back. It works fine. $170
r/GR86 • Dash cams ->Thinkware Q200 front and rear. Get OBD-II power pass through adapter. Tuck the wires in the headliner and down the A pillar. EZ PZ.
r/f150 • Dashcam ->I have a thinkware Q200 and I like it well enough. No real issues or complaints.
r/FordBronco • Dash Cam ->I got thinkware Q200 recommended by the dashcam subreddit. It’s a two way with parking mode. Best Buy installed it with a hard wire for $99.
r/ram_trucks • Any good dash cams that connect into this cigarette lighter? ->Thinkware q200 front & rear, it has impact detection when switched off.
r/GolfGTI • Mk8 GTI dashcams ->My sister got a new Corolla in Sept and I ended up getting a FitDVR power adapter which plugs into the safety sensor on the windshield and it provides 2 power ports -- one USB port which most dash cams use and one barrel connector which is used by Thinkware/BlackVue dash cams. Amazon Oct prime sale had the power adapter for $30 and the Viofo A119 Mini2 for $86 (plus $14 CPL filter and $15 64gb card) -- ended up getting the Thinkware Q200 separately from Staples (had coupons and store rewards to use) Both cameras are connected to the power adapter and work fine so far -- that way she has 2 cameras covering the front just in case one fails during a crash. The Q200 came with a rear cam that I still need to install (need to run wire from front to rear windshield so I'll do that later) Check Amazon's BF sale for Rove or Viofo or Vantrue ("VANTRUEBF10" code might work) which are reasonably priced and have good reviews -- check out r/Dashcam (they have recommendations listed on the side)
r/Toyota • How much did you all spend on dashcam setup? ->ThinkWare q200. The exact one Ford sells on their accessories site is sold by the manufacturer and Bestbuy for like $150-170.
r/FordBronco • Dash cams? ->ThinkWare Q200, Ford sells it via the accessories portal, but it's significantly cheaper from BestBuy. Simple set up, 2K UHD front sensor 1080p rear sensor. Front camera is the size of a large candy bar, rear sensor is about 1/2 the size of a AA battery. You can get a harness to hardware it to the fuse panel under the steering wheel.
r/FordBronco • Dash cam recommendations ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
