I have a thinkware from bestbuy in my explorer. It has a front and rear camera (rear cam unfortunately connects with a long aux cable that comes with it. It has the option to be hard wired or cigarette lighter powered. Has an SD card. Impact detection. 2k front camp 1080p rear and nightvision. The new modules have GPS. They're about 200$ but I've had no complaints other than on cold days the programmed voice that plays when the cam turns on sounds like it's under water but then goes back to normal after the camera warms up in the sun.

Thinkware from Canada,  get dual channel aka front and rear.  They have nice features like battery voltage cut down to save your car battery or parking/driving recording when hardwired.

They are but worth it in my opinion,  especially the extra features they come with,  like the battery voltage monitor I mention earlier

I second this. They did a great job - picked up a Thinkware front and rear dash cam set.

I tapped mine into the power above the mirror. Different Hyundai, but same concept.

Thinkware brand. I don't know the model offhand, but it's a front and rear unit and works very well.

I got the Thinkware brand when I got my CX-30 because the dealership offered it and I won’t drive without a dashcam. I also liked that it would be built into the car so no hanging wires or anything. My advice - avoid Thinkware at ALL COSTS. The quality is shit, my rearview dashcam doesn’t work for no reason at all, the app doesn’t work half the time, etc.

For the most part, dashcams have the same internals, so do your research. I'm sure there's newer videos, but I remember LTT did a roundup pointing this out a while ago. A few years ago I ended up getting a Thinkwear "brand" front and rear.

I live in Phoenix and been using Thinkware since 2019 because they are good in the heat, decent video, decent parking mode. In 2 vehicles I installed Thinkware Q800 pro. A 2k camera that has front and rear. Again both back in 2019 and both units still no problem.

Hey. One of my co-workers recommended it to me and he showed me some of the footage and its a solid product. I bought the ThinkWare Q800 for $350 based on this subreddit recommendation. I think it's a waste of money honestly the quality is the same but I don't know anything about how long these products last and warranty and all that. As for as the video goes, if an incident happens, best thing to do is still say the license number out loud and let the dash pick up the audio, in most cases, either due to the speed or whatever the plate is not always clear. A lot of guys here are dashcam enthusiasts so they might see something that we really don't even care about but I honestly won't buy any of the higher-end recommended items. That's just me.

I have a Thinkware (no longer manufactured) Q800 Pro that I love. It looks like the newer Thinkware cams have a much easier time connecting to phones and they download videos much faster, which was really my only complaint with those.
