I'm happy with Thinkware. 5 years on my q800pro 2-channel and still going strong. Have them in both my cars.
r/BuyItForLife • Best dash cam for a new car? ->I have a Rove 4k in my truck. I was able to get an accessory plug so it is powered off the rear view mirror; no running of wires. I got the Ford Thinkware dashcam for my wife's Ranger. It wires directly into OBD for continuous power which my Rove doesn't have. However Ford sells an older Thinkware that doesn't have wireless access..... Huge disappointment. There's nothing fancy about the Rove but it wasn't super expensive either
r/f150 • Dash Cam recommendations ->I have a thinkware from bestbuy in my explorer. It has a front and rear camera (rear cam unfortunately connects with a long aux cable that comes with it. It has the option to be hard wired or cigarette lighter powered. Has an SD card. Impact detection. 2k front camp 1080p rear and nightvision. The new modules have GPS. They're about 200$ but I've had no complaints other than on cold days the programmed voice that plays when the cam turns on sounds like it's under water but then goes back to normal after the camera warms up in the sun.
r/f150 • Dash Cam recommendations ->My current and previous dash cams were Thinkware. I only changed cameras to upgrade, not because there was anything wrong with the old camera. Had a Q800 Pro previously and am now using the U3000. Both have been good. I had them professionally installed because I can't be bothered to do it myself.
r/rav4club • Dash cams ->Not sure mine has been going since 2019 so at least 4 years at minimum, in a few months it will be 5 years for Thinkware Q800 in 2 vehicles.
r/Dashcam • What do you consider to be a good lifespan for a dashcam? I’m retiring this NextBase 222x after almost 4 years ->Been using my Thinkware q800 pro since November 2019 and no issues and my Thinkware Q200 pro for about 3 years.
r/dashcams • How long do dashcams actually last? ->First cheap TAO. Couldn't keep time but video was great. Still keep it in the drawer for trips. Used it for have years until I wanted to upgrade, parking mode etc. Now use Thinkware Q80 pro in 2 vehicles since 2019 and f200pro with Multiplexer giving me 5 channels.
r/Dashcam • Dashcam you use ->I use Thinkware because it's superior to Viofo with it's heat resistance and being in AZ I need that. Plus parking mode is great. But Viofo is good as well but like I said best is subjective based on needs. Viofo, Thinkware, Blackvue all have good image quality but each excel in different areas. Blackvue has a great cloud system, has models with LTE or use their LTE model for real time viewing etc.. Even Viofo like any other brand can have it's issues. There was a known issue where sometimes it wouldn't come out of parking mode. They have since fixed it with firmware updates but the point is most brands have a quirk. As long as you are happy with the purchase you made that is all that matters.
r/Dashcam • is the a229 pro the best 2ch dashcam? ->I personally have the Thinkware Q800 pro since October 2019 so 5 years and no issues. Definitely got the bang for my buck and still using the cell-link neo external battery the whole time.
r/Dashcam • is the a229 pro the best 2ch dashcam? ->Thinkware q800 pro for 5 years Nov 1st and Thinkware f200 pro with multiplexer for 2 to 3 years.
r/Dashcam • What model dash cam do you have and how long has it been going for? ->Alberta here and my thinkware q800 has been solid in winters as well.
r/f150 • Dash Camera ->I had a Thinkware 800 pro installed 4 years ago and have been very happy with it. FWIW there is an app that scans for trackers called :Tracker Detect" can't say anything about how good or if it works at all but FWIW
r/Dashcam • Best 24/hr dash camera ->I have the dual camera Thinkware Q800P
r/nissanfrontier • Dash cam recommendations ->The important thing is to have one. When you start researching them, you’ll see enthusiasts on YouTube worrying about every little detail of resolution, how far away you can see license plates at night, how many cams it has, etc. Sure, that stuff is all nice, but it also tends to make you upscale your purchase to cover every possibility, and I’ve had friends who never made a decision because it all just seemed too hard. Don’t let the number of choices, and opinions, make you fear making a mistake. If you stick with the main brands, you really won’t go wrong. On features, just think about what you really need. In the end, its primary purpose is to document what happens and they all do that. Even a front-only camera documents a rear-end collision because it shows the impact and whether you were moving or stationary and proves you weren’t backing up. Would you like to have a rear camera? Of course. Would it be useful to resolve that license plate? Absolutely. If you can afford it, you may be happy to have those features one day, but one without will still do that job. Work within your budget, read reviews and get the best one you can afford without breaking the bank. Then install it and don’t read any more reviews. There is always something newer and better coming out. For what it’s worth, I have a Vantrue N4 Pro 3 and my wife has a Thinkware Q800Pro. The Thinkware model is pretty lions in the tooth by now, but it’s worked well, and the Vantrue is newer and also works well.
r/dashcams • Whats the Best Dash Cam to Buy Right Now? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ->Absolutely. First week of owning my dashcam, a rock fell off of a company's truck, bounced off the road, and damaged my windshield. Typically this is considered a road hazard if it hits the highway first. I called the company and told them what happened. The owner of the company was open to seeing my dashcam footage, and after seeing what happened, replaced my windshield. Past that, it's just been fun to save recordings of the BS I see while driving and rewatch them later. I have a thinkware Q800pro front and rear dashcam. Here's a boring, non-event, front and rear video of me driving https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z8F2bFJ3DXX8zcRdETIP363p94BnODbw/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z024QHxJRWqKHBF-WU2C1CWFf1SONme4/view?usp=drivesdk
r/chevycolorado • Dash Cam yes or no ->Im using thinkware q800pro I believe, it doesn't have a screen and the footprint is small so it does not interfere. It's mounted somewhere behind the rearvirw mirror
r/KiaTelluride • Dashcam placement on 2024 Kia Telluride ->I’ve had my Thinkware 800pro in 3 different vehicles now. Works great and easy to get the video right when u need it
r/Dashcam • What's the best dash cam to buy? ->Been running a thinkware q800 that I pulled from the wreck of my last car and installed into my current 17gt. I’ve had several of this brand of camera and they’ve all been reliable. https://www.reddit.com/r/Dashcam/s/tkoaoBOBOk I also noticed that car dealers started selling thinkware cameras too so it’s probably a safe bet it works well with your car.
r/Mustang • Dashcam ->Not counting cheap no-name brand dash cams or using my cellphone as a dash cam: MateGo MG188 (2012-2016) was my first dash cam. For its time, it was a very well made Chinese dash cam. 1080P Full HD with a flip down screen. Lasted me quite some years. FineVu CR-500HD (2013-2016) was my first modern day branded dash cam. Had more features such as parking mode, and required hardwiring to the car fuse box directly. I moved the MateGo to use as a rear camera for several years after. After 3 years, I noticed the video quality on the FineVu starting to degrade. Became more pixelated and license plates started becoming harder to pick up. Sold the dash cam on craigslist and moved on. Thinkware F770-2CH (2016-Current) is a brand everyone is probably more familiar with. Parking mode, red light camera alerts, phone app, and all the features we started seeing on Korean dash cams. Great camera for its time but I could not get over how the maximum card size was only 64GB for a FHD front + FHD rear camera. Didn't store more than a few hours of footage. Ended up formatting a 128GB to work in there after looking up other people's reviews online. Gave the F770 to my mom in 2020 and it is finally starting to show signs of slowing down in 2024. Wifi doesn't work all the time, date and time is not saving properly, boot up takes about 30 seconds. Pleasantly surprised that the Thinkware lasted almost 8 years without issue though. Thinkware Q800 PRO 2CH (2020-Current) Got the Q800 PRO to replace my F770. I wanted the higher video resolution (2K) and improved night vision. This ones been going strong for almost 4 years now without any issue. Currently I'm on the market for a 2K QHD 60 FPS dash cam with similar features to the Thinkware U1000. Don't like the U1000/U3000 because of the design. I personally don't care for 4K, would rather have 2K 60FPS. Once I find something, I will be replacing my Q800 PRO and passing that down to replace the F770.
r/Dashcam • Dashcam you use ->Thinkware Q800Pro. [https://thinkwarestore.com/us/](https://thinkwarestore.com/us/)
r/f150 • What dashcam are you all using? ->I use a Thinkware unit - Q800 Pro. A bit dated now, though it works well. [https://thinkwarestore.com/us/](https://thinkwarestore.com/us/)
r/f150 • Looking for recommendations on a dash cam ->I got the bottom left dual channel Thinkware with GPS receiver from Best Buy for 129.99 on sale. Install wasn't in a Colorado but a 2010 Tahoe and once I found some unused pins to hardwire to, running the wires was a piece of cake. From the driver's seat, you cannot see the front dash cam or wires as it's tucked up in front of the the rear view mirror with wires running behind the covering that hides the auto dimming/compass wiring.
r/chevycolorado • Anybody recommend these dealer dash cams? ->I have been running a thinkware front and back combo for over 5 years now with no issues. It even saved me in court once after an idiot crashed into me and lied about it.
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->I've had my 2 channel Thinkware front and rear dashcam installed 4 years ago. My car hasn't been broken in. I also put black electric tape to the front LED notification lights as you can't disable it in its Settings. Don't get the ones that look like a camera those are way more obvious when seen from the outside. Viofo, Thinkware, Blackvue are wedge-shaped and less conspicuous
r/SanJose • Will you install dash cam for your car if living in San Jose? ->
