Purchased a Thinkware 3000Pro and having it installed tomorrow on my new A5. I used to own the Thinkware F770 (front and rear) on my A6 and loved it.

I was delayed in the install, but my local AV shop finally installed it today. I purchased the LTE module as well. They installed the front cam and the LTE unit to the right of the rear view mirror, with the front cam somewhat hidden from the driver's view. The whole install took 2 hours and was $350. I'm sure many will shudder at the cost, but it was worth it for me.

There is a rear 2K camera as well. Here are some of the pictures (please excuse the poor quality). [https://imgur.com/a/gLDsb41](https://imgur.com/a/gLDsb41)

Depending on the dash cam some will eat power for breakfast. To know how long you can have parking mode for will depend on that, the condition of your battery and how many events get triggered. I tested the Thinkeate U3000, BlackVue DR770X Box, VIOFO A129 Plus Duo, and Akeeyo EYES AI dash cams to show how much power is used by each in parking mode. Watch for more info: https://youtu.be/52nfmtyEEQ8 I also am trying to use a solar panel to potentially have unlimited parking mode. Find out more about the solar dash cam project here: https://youtu.be/BI-fhD5w0m8

How long you get for parking mode will depend on several things including how much power your dash cam uses in parking mode, the state of charge of your car battery, the condition of your car battery and the amount of motion in your parking spot. Currently, the Thinkware U3000 and U3000 Pro have the longest parking mode when set to RADAR. I've gotten past 8 days but again depends on those factors I mentioned above. If I were to use a dash cam battery pack I could probably extend it to past 21 days. These are expensive dash cams so budget will also play a factor. It's possible a different dash cam used with a dash cam battery pack could cost less and last more than what you need it for. Note too that dash cam parking mode differ between brands and makes so you would want to know how it really works for a specific dash cam. A lot of cheap dash cams implement parking mode not too great or use too much power or have a long wake-up time. This matters because if it takes a long time to wake-up you will miss recording some or all the action. THINKWARE U3000 with OBD ii cable has the best parking mode function with dual radar to identify activity. They just released U3000 Pro with HDR and improved rear camera. I have 2 of them and very happy with quality and support. Ordering the Pro for my new car next week with OBD as well

I have (2) THINKWARE U3000 dual Dashcams and consider them excellent. Customer service is next level too. Parking mode with the OBD ii connector and dual radar provides the longest parking protection without buying expensive battery pack. I just sold my Honda so selling my U3000 and buying the U3000 Pro to install in new car next week. So yes happy user. But now 3rd. Camera, and no brand is going to give you that 360 view. If interior camera was wide angle never be in focus inside and outside, lenses don’t work like that

THINKWARE has a new model U3000 pro, has an LTE module or interior cam. Pls go thru the reviews in YouTube. They have cloud connectivity, as long as connected to internet, live view is possible. I used the previous version U3000 in my car. It is one of the best Korean brands offers all these features. pro model has better and latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor with 4K 2K (front and rear) and LTE module has 3 year subscription included. This is strictly based on my experience and research. Other than THINKWARE, another two Korean brands are BlackVue and Vueroid (no LTE/remote view option).

VIOFOs are big, wedge-shaped and have a screen (not everyone needs it). Video quality is the best. You can get polarised filters for both front and rear cameras. There is a remote bluetooth button as an accessory. Voice commands. Can write to an external SSD as well. VIOFO is not the cleanest to install in Sportage because Sportage has that big plastic shroud around the rearview mirror. Cannot install too close to it (or it would get into the frame) and doesn't look very nice installed under it since the camera is pretty boxy. Have to go to the side. Some install it ON the plastic shroud though. May be an option. Rear camera is compact. Rear cam cable is one of the thinnest on the market. Easier to tuck. Blackvue are cylindrical which makes for cleaner install and allows for more centred installation. Can go right under the said shroud. There are options like [https://blendmount.com/](https://blendmount.com/) that allow install on the mirror stem. Can get mobile connectivity. Expensive. Thinkware U3000Pro is pretty large but yes, radar mode is cool. Heat resistance of these is also very good. But they look big when installed. You can either have the internal third camera or the mobile connectivity unit. Not both. What else... 70mai T800 is cheaper and not bad, can get it with LTE connectivity.

Hello, I personally have always had different Thinkware dashcams. Right now I have the U3000 Pro 2ch. I have always have great luck with Thinkware. Plugs in 3 different ways, OBDII, hardwire and cigarette lighter. I chose the OBDII on this dashcam.

I went through this whole saga working things out for my phev. Same criteria… wanted obd2 powered, good parking mode, protect the ev/phev battery (the small 12v battery, not your main one)… they’re still expensive to replace and you do not want them running flat. Ended up with the u3000pro. Spendy, but it has checked the boxes so far.

U3000 pro for parking monitoring will do what you need.

Viofo a329s is the most advanced of the 3 in features. U3000 is great for parking but their interior cam is trash Vantrue is like the thinkware interior cam. If you want to kill your battery on the regular, this cam is for you. If you're leaving the vehicle for days on end without driving, you'll want to use the low power impact detection (viofo) or energy saving mode (Thinkware)
