Vantrue - E1 Lite

That’s what I have right now. E1 Lite is even cheaper and sufficient for most people. I have a Vantrue E1 Lite that I wired into the power for the auto dim mirror. Had to take a couple panels off but it was quick and easy.

My Vantru was 3 years old when the Texas sun took it out.

I think it may have been my fault. Wife got me a front windshield cover that opens like an umbrella, I forgot to take the camera down so it was cooked. The inside cam worked, the forward camera blanked out

I couldn’t get the same VanTrue came to power on with the usb c ports. Did you?

It seems like there are more and more options of these every year. A lot of them, unfortunately are knock, offs and junk. The usual players are still top-notch and generally have good long-term reliability. For nighttime quality you want something that has a Starvis 2 sensor. Has greatly improved the night time video quality. Good idea to quit putting it off. Many dashcams offer a fuse tap kit. In my 2019 Forester I have a Vantrue cam with the fuse tap kit. The fuse box is right behind the door by the driver's left knee. I just ran the power cable under the edge of the headliner, down under the edge of the piller to the fuse box and tapped it right there. No use of 12V socket on center console, no exposed wiring whatsoever (except for the very short part from the cam to the headliner.

Me and my mom run Vantrue E1 Lite, sure its only 1080p 30fps, but its more than enough for us at the moment. Their other stuff is amazing too
