just got the same one for mine yesterday.
Check Vantrue cams they are on sale for black Friday. I installed the N4Pro on my mom's SUV and I have the Element pro on my truck been using them for about a year now with no issues. Both dash cams record at 4k
I just installed a Vantrue E1 pro on my truck. Paired with Dongar 3 pin connector that uses the rear view mirror power. Easiest install I ever done.
I use the VanTrue E1 Pro. Got it for $99 bucks a few days ago on Prime Day. It’s small enough that I mounted it right at the base of the rear view mirror. Can’t even see it at all during driving and it hasn’t affected the EyeSight system at all.
I have the VanTrue E1 Pro. It’s small and fits right behind the mirror and you can’t even see it when driving. Doesn’t mess with eye sight either. Got it for 99 bucks on prime day. Works great, but runs hot.
We have the Vantrue E1 Pro. It's only forward facing but my wife was rear ended last month. Pulled up the video for police and its mic picked up our turn signal was on and conditions were clear. Video also saved us from insurance and all fault went on other driver and their insurance covered our deductible and our car is being completely repaired at no cost to us. A good dash cam is 100% worth it.
You could try the Vantrue E1 Pro. It's super compact so you can tuck it behind your rearview mirror and not even notice it. You can power it via the cigarette lighter or hardwire it for a cleaner look with no hanging wires. Great image quality too.
I recently got a vantrue E1PRO and it might be what you need. It is compact, can automatically capture license plates, and records very clear footage.
4k dash cam like Vantrue E1 Pro or Viofo A229 Pro uses about 1GB every 3 minutes, assume front recording only. So a 512G card get you about 24 hours of recording time until it is full. You can turn off loop recording so the oldest video will not get deleted, and they will beep error when the card is full, but there is no early warning and you need to put the SD card in a PC/phone to see how full it is. Wifi+App is only needed to configure a dash cam that have no screen. GPS, parking mode etc can be turned off. Power drain is not an issue when you only record while driving. If you mainly care about image quality, get one with a CPL filter to reduce dash board reflection. For better night vision you want one with Sony Starvis 2 sensor. Some people use a higher-end phone for recording - expensive solution but better video quality.
