"If you can spend money get a Viofo and enjoy high quality videos ... So practically I have 8mp IMX678 sensor on front camera and 5mp IMX675 sensor on back camera which is all other brands put on front cameras (Rove, Xiaomi etc.) even it is Starvis 2 new sensor it ’s still a 5mp. So back camera performance on Viofo is similar to top brands new dashcams front camera ... Top of the line sensor with 8mp and Stravis IMX 678 sensor - image quality is perfect. ... because I want not just dash cam for the sake of having dash cam, but also best image quality therefore I spend more. ... For now I ’m happy with video quality"

Correct. I’ve never had to use WiFi with mine. I purchased the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam. Edit: You’ll have to buy their brand of SD Card. I purchased a 256GB Card, plenty of space. I set my recordings for every 3 minutes

Wife got me a front windshield cover that opens like an umbrella, I forgot to take the camera down so it was cooked. The inside cam worked, the forward camera blanked out

r/uberdrivers • Dashcam upgrade help ->Not bad, I'm ordering one now. My dashcam is a venture n2 pro with a GPS mount but the cord is only 3feet. The 12v power outlet under the radio stopped working last year. I haven't found a cable long enough with a micro USB connection.

[Vantrue has some good 2 channel and 3 channel cams](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/s/65SdNGK6Jc) tried and tested. Same with VIOFO, Garmin, and blackvue. Stay away from Pruveeo.

r/vegaslocals • Dash Cam Recs? ->Vantrue N2 front and in cabin, works fine, haven’t had to use it yet. I keep the car in the garage and only drive at night, besides taking kids to school and shopping trips, so idk what baking in the sun would do to it. Had this one for about a year now with no issues. Had some cheap Amazon one that did the same thing with shitty quality but good enough if I needed it for evidence in an accident, it lasted 3 years, I think I paid like $28 for it. It didn’t even die, just the crappy micro-USB port became loose as they all do over time and it would sporadically lose connection and cycle off and on. Edit to add I don’t buy anything with a micro-USB connection anymore for the same reason; I’ll pay extra to get a USB-C version. Screw Uber for making the latest Beacon crappier than the old circular window mount one; no battery, downgraded from USB-C to micro-USB, and non customizable colors etc. Capitalism at work I guess.

Been running this one for a year and no major issues compared to the couple others I've tried from different brands. I got it on Amazon for around $100, it goes on sale periodically. Most of the cheaper cams under 200ish use the same sensors anyways but out of the couple brands I've tried this ones held up great. Only suggestion for any cam is get a decent brand SD card as you don't want to put your trust in whatever generic crap they mail it to you with. I've been using samsung evo cards.
