The quality most definitely matters! I have had several dashcam over the years and it's a night and day difference from spending $50 to $300. You can get some decent ones that's are budget friendly. Like the Rove R2-4k or the Vantrue N2S (which I'm selling for $100) it's brand new. But, I would suggest you watch some YouTube videos on dashcams before purchasing.
Vantrue N2S here and the only complaint I have is the suction cup, should be stronger or with a little pump to allow better suction.
yung sakin kasi basic lang na N2 na may Rear Camera tapos ako na din nag install, nabili ko lang din sa Shopee mall, though nakikita ko may mga pwesto na sila sa mga malls like Trinoma or SM north, check mo if may malapit na inyo. its serves its purpose naman though may mga higher models you can check it out. For SD card, I checked and Shoppe ko lang sya din nabili , SanDisk Max Endurance for 1.1k, ito pa lang tumatagal sakin na SD Card funny ang dami ko pala nabiling sd card na tig 300, 200 sa shopee dahil laging nageeror mag recording
Vantrue N2 front and in cabin, works fine, haven’t had to use it yet. I keep the car in the garage and only drive at night, besides taking kids to school and shopping trips, so idk what baking in the sun would do to it. Had this one for about a year now with no issues. Had some cheap Amazon one that did the same thing with shitty quality but good enough if I needed it for evidence in an accident, it lasted 3 years, I think I paid like $28 for it. It didn’t even die, just the crappy micro-USB port became loose as they all do over time and it would sporadically lose connection and cycle off and on. Edit to add I don’t buy anything with a micro-USB connection anymore for the same reason; I’ll pay extra to get a USB-C version. Screw Uber for making the latest Beacon crappier than the old circular window mount one; no battery, downgraded from USB-C to micro-USB, and non customizable colors etc. Capitalism at work I guess.
N2 was the model. Yes to NV in cabin and front view. Leaning towards replacing with VanTru but researching other brands at this time
My Vantru was 3 years old when the Texas sun took it out.
I think it may have been my fault. Wife got me a front windshield cover that opens like an umbrella, I forgot to take the camera down so it was cooked. The inside cam worked, the forward camera blanked out
Define cheap for people to make a recommendation. I have a Vantrue N2 that was around $199 and it works great for me.
