"if you decide to get the N5, pay for the Vantrue branded SD card. It’s certified to handle the speeds necessary to record 4 video streams at once. When I first got this dashcam, I tried several other high speed name brand cards (Samsung, SanDisk, etc), and they all had issues."
"Now, with the N5's parking mode, all angles are covered."

"The Vantrue N5 Hardwire Kit has a Low Voltage Protection System, ensuring that your car's battery is not drained by the dash cam when the car is parked."

"a looot more expensive ... At this point, I would have gone for a cheaper model from Vantrue with LTE module."
I've used Vantrue E1, Garmin Mini 2 and Vantrue N5. The Garmin mini and the Vantrue E1 are 1-channel but they are nice. The screen in the E1 makes a difference for me in terms of reviewing clips, config, etc. which you need to do via WiFi connection for the Garmin mini 2; and the E1 can be paired with a small remote control to save/lock clips and enable/disable the mic recording. From your post, I'd check these ones out and decide. The CPL filter makes a difference but not a must. The N5 is another level with 3 channels, and big bunch of features but also a looot more expensive. At this point, I would have gone for a cheaper model from Vantrue with LTE module. I did take a look at the Viofo dashcams before buying and they also give very good value for their money. The A119 Duo is a good 2-channel that will not break your bank. Do keep in mind that the dashcams don't come with microSD cards and those endurance cards tend to be from 30€ upwards (don't go for anything else, imho, or you may face issues saving videos).
I got this same one. About a year and half in it stopped turning off when I turned my vehicle off. Then the back camera stopped working. Now it just stays on constantly and freezes often. Great dashcam besides those problems.
I absolutely splurged on my dash camera. Could I have gone cheaper? For sure I could but I rather spend and get the best possible option to guard against the worst day I hope won't come. No complaints so far, easy install, good quality lens, and while the front camera unit may look big, it hasn't interfere or bother me. Vantrue N5 - front, rear, and in cabin front and rear camera system. Got it off Amazon: [https://a.co/d/8lH0Jxw](https://a.co/d/8lH0Jxw) EDIT: I drive an Outback and had to get a USB C extender to comfortably reach all the way to the back for the rear camera unit. The factory cable was just a little short. I also bought wire or cable management clips to neatly organize and tuck the cable to the side. * USB C extender: [https://a.co/d/a8uuyIn](https://a.co/d/a8uuyIn) * Cable management clips: [https://a.co/d/d1cOx1q](https://a.co/d/d1cOx1q) https://preview.redd.it/ze1qbhiuegxe1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0da5e93631fe8981de3f02bb5e731ac0919d510c
If you're looking for a good budget front and rear cam, go with the Thinkware Q200, usually less than $200. I sell and install them professionally and this is my go-to and top selling camera. It's the camera that I own in my personal vehicle. All of my friends, family, and co-workers have this camera. I've literally installed well over 150 of these, sometimes 3 or 4 a day. The next step up in my experience is Vantrue N4 or N5. These have great image quality and are extremely reliable cams. Viofo is okay but they are cookie cutter cameras using the same Sony Starvis image sensor and hardware as 90% of the other chinese dash cams and hasn't been updated in 5 or 6 years. They feel like knock off Rexing and Rexing already feels like a knock off. The Thinkware F70 is old, like, really old. People seem to like Wolfbox, and I have to admit, they make some really nice cameras, but they are expensive. Dash cams went up because of tariffs, of course, but also increased popularity and demand. That little video of the insurance fraud that went viral really got people panick buying.
I have Vantrue N5 with hardwiring kit. It took few hours to install by myself. Cable is only visible between cam and mirror. In the future, I am going to upgrade it 360 degree one.
You can't tap into the cameras on the Subaru. I tried. Went with the vantrue n5 pro hardware, upgraded sim. No problems in 9 months. There's a learning curve for downloading.
Vantrue with starvis 2 and "plate pix". Hardwired!
Just get a third party dashcam. Viofo and Vantrue both have three channel dashcams with better quality for much less than that. And you can pay someone to install it and still be less than $590 I have a Vantrue N5 installed in my car
I like the Vantrue N5. Clear video and audio. And not super expensive (especially if you catch one on discount) Viofo also has really good ones for value
Happy with my vantrue n5, first one gave up after 6 months or so but they replaced it without any issues.
Vantrue S1Pro or, what I have now, the N5. No drilling. TBH, I've never encountered a dashcam that required drilling for a rear cam.
Lots of them, The one I have is the Vantrue N5, but the S1 Pro would work too. You do need to run a wire from the windshield cam to the rear cam.
Vantrue n5 and have make sure you hard wire it
