"Love their app too, very simple and intuitive ... great app on the phone ... Rove app much more seamless and intuitive."

"Last month got rear ended by person on the phone. ... I downloaded the event clip from the mobile app and was able to show the video to the police on the spot. ... The other driver got a ticket for using the phone."

"and the app works well. ... No, it’s free to use. ... The app just allows you to view and share the video from your phone."

"The front cam is 4K, and the interior cam is 2K, which is perfect for rideshare."

"It has an interior camera that can capture both inside the car and the side windows, which help cover the sides of your vehicle."

"mine is 4k front and 1080 rear."

"The picture quality is amazing ... the footage is really sharp"

"For me the killer features though are 5.3k 8:7 ... Those all help a lot for editing."

"sometimes I look back on videos that I made with my "old" hero 7 black camera and the images always looked so good -- better than my x2. ... I don't typically mess with the camera settings because whenever I do, it seems my changes often make things worse."

"with 1/2 4K resolution (1080p x2 instead of 1080p x4)"

"you give up a lot: namely... true 4K resolution"

"not worth it for the sheer size of the Foodi. It's a beast and very heavy. ... Yeah this is the same reason I don't really use my Foodi."

"Was bulk and weight that chased me away from self inflators years ago. ... I find the selfinflating foam so comfortable, more so than than air mats, but it's 790 grams, very bulky and just 3.8r. Can't justify it."

"that thing is so bulky and sits in the cabinet below the counter, I want to keep keep one on the counter…."

It’s just a standard hi-def VanTrue with the cigarette lighter plug that I keep in a small bag in my backpack. Takes about 15 seconds to stick the suction cup on the windshield and plug it in. Another tip is as you are driving around and someone looks like they might be silly: read the license plate out loud. Sometimes, especially at night, the camera won’t pick up the plate so reading it out loud will capture the information. 99% of the time it isn’t needed but the one time you do need it, ya got it. With big trucks, if you can, read the DOT number off the side of the truck. You can actually look that number up on the Department of Transportation website and get business information and phone numbers. On more than one occasion I have read that number, used Siri to look up the information, get the phone number, call the business and complain to the manager (including telling them I have dash camera footage) within a few minutes. On two occasions I’ve even seen drivers then answer their phone, listen for a moment then look back at me with a wide stare. Very satisfying.

Love the vantrue s1 pro. It’s about $150, but it’s the best at clarity and has been tested by several online reviewers.

I would recommend Vanture S1 Pro Max. It has duel 4k cams for rear and front. I’m using it myself and the price is relatively reasonable compared to Viofo’s offering for a similar setup (a229 ultra)

One of the rare days the sun is out. The dash cam‘s Ai recognizes motorcycles as pedestrians lol Setup : Vanture S1 Pro Max (main unit) setup as a rear cam. HDR turned on. Platepix turned off. Exposure set to 0.3. Aftermarket CPL filter attached.

it’s actually the main unit. I have another v12 outlet in the trunk, so I installed one in the back as well as the front. Amazon had a sale back in early October where you get a single unit for less than $120.

I've used both the AUTO-VOX B40-C  and Vantrue S1 4k. Both have worked well and no app needed.

Agreed. That’s from the VanTrue S1 Pro Max, which is a dual 4k system. [This post convinced me to order one. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/comments/1luh6dy/vantrue_s1_pro_max_is_the_probably_the_nicest_cam/)

6 years and 4 years in Arizona heat for my A119 V3 and A129 Pro Duo, respectively. Still going strong. OP, [this post convinced me to get a VanTrue S1 Pro](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/comments/1luh6dy/vantrue_s1_pro_max_is_the_probably_the_nicest_cam/), which is a dual 4k system. Only had it for about 4 months but I will say the app is way better than any other dashcam I’ve used.

My new Vantrue S1 Pro Max skips 3 file[\#s](https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/s) while losing \~5 minutes of video. Anyone else have this issue? I'm using a Samsung PRO Plus microSD Memory Card + Adapter, 512GB microSDXC, Up to 180 MB/s, Full HD & 4K UHD, UHS I, C10, U3, V30, A2. I have an image file, but no uploads on this forum?

Personally, I recommend the Vantrue S1 Pro. [Here's some footage I uploaded with the device.](https://youtu.be/P7v_1vJ7OK0) Edit: I'm sorry OP, I'm not sure why the video isn't uploading in higher quality.

Ran it through the headliner -> through the weather stripping -> behind the glovebox -> into the power outlet inside the center console. The rear camera is the same, but after routing it through the weather stripping I routed it underneath the plastic on the floor.

Tbh, both the front and rear cameras of my vantrue S1PM capture clear footage, which has been helpful when I needed accident evidence.

I use the vantrue s1pm right now. Front and rear cams cover all I really need, and the footage is clear enough to catch plates without any problem.

I just picked up the Vantrue S1 Pro Max and it has all that AI monitoring. So far it’s been great. It caught me nodding off a few times and the alert immediately jolted me awake.
