After-Student-9785 1.0I would recommend Vanture S1 Pro Max. It has duel 4k cams for rear and front. I’m using it myself and the price is relatively reasonable compared to Viofo’s offering for a similar setup (a229 ultra)
One of the rare days the sun is out. The dash cam‘s Ai recognizes motorcycles as pedestrians lol Setup : Vanture S1 Pro Max (main unit) setup as a rear cam. HDR turned on. Platepix turned off. Exposure set to 0.3. Aftermarket CPL filter attached.
it’s actually the main unit. I have another v12 outlet in the trunk, so I installed one in the back as well as the front. Amazon had a sale back in early October where you get a single unit for less than $120.
It’s a great camera for the price. especially for 4k.

6 years and 4 years in Arizona heat for my A119 V3 and A129 Pro Duo, respectively. Still going strong. concrete_annuity 1.0Tbh, both the front and rear cameras of my vantrue S1PM capture clear footage, which has been helpful when I needed accident evidence.
I use the vantrue s1pm right now. Front and rear cams cover all I really need, and the footage is clear enough to catch plates without any problem.
I just picked up the Vantrue S1 Pro Max and it has all that AI monitoring. So far it’s been great. It caught me nodding off a few times and the alert immediately jolted me awake.
EddieRyanDC 1.0The dashcam is tricky in the CX-30 because all of the accessory fuses and connections are in the engine compartment. Everything in the cabin runs straight to the battery (including the USB ports, unless that changed for 2025). I deal with this by setting my dashcam to go into a low power parking mode where it only wakes up if the car is hit. (Since my car is in my garage, that is unlikely.) That sleep mode is deep enough that it hasn't affected the battery - though it might if your car sits undriven for many weeks at a time. I ended up getting my power from the OBD2 port under the driver's side dash. It is the computer port used for diagnosing the car, but it is only used when the car is being serviced. It is much easier than trying to tap a wire or fuse. Most of the big name dashcam manufacturers make a OBD2 wiring kit as an accessory - but make sure they have one before you choose a particular model. Here are some good choices that I considered. (These are all 2 camera models because you are far more likely to be rear ended than for you to hit something in the front.) In descending order of capability they are: * VIOFO A229 Pro 4K * Vantrue S1 Pro Max * VIOFO A229 Plus

It won’t take much searching on this subreddit to hear people talking about redtiger cameras over heating and causing problems. Never heard of ddpai so I would probably stay away. hulkingcylinder 1.0I’ve been using the Vantrue S1 Pro Max recently. It’s a front and rear setup and doesn’t take much space. The audio recording turns on automatically, which is nice for daily drives.
It’s clear. It records in 4K, and the night footage looks solid thanks to the infrared assist. You can still see road signs and plates clearly.
I drive a truck and often on the road. I use a vantrue S1PM carcam, the video quality it's pretty nice. I feel a lot safer driving with it.

OneMorePutt 1.0I went for a brand I knew and thought I could trust, 2 x the garmin mini 2 dashcam. They lasted for almost 2 years before dying in the mighty British summer heat (a shortwhile after the Garmin Mini 3 came out). I only realised they were not functioning properly after a spectacular crash occurred in front of me on the motorway and I found my front cam footage of the incident was black with green static and my rear cam was black and white with bright green highlights. I have replaced them with a Viofo A119 v3 for the rear and a Vantrue S1 Pro Max for the front. Both review well and seem to be a step up on the Garmin Mini's.
