I paid £130 for the A129 duo (basically the A119 but also paired with a rear facing camera) back in early 2019. The camera still works great now 6 years later. Great value. would definitely recommend
Been running a Viofo A129 duo in my TL for like 2 years now and it's pretty much invisible behind the rearview mirror. Installation was a pain but worth it once you get the wiring tucked away properly
I got a Nextbase and upgraded to a Viofo A129 Duo very quickly. The Viofo is nice and reliable. They have newer versions now
VIOFO A129 duo. Has front and back cameras, as well as gps
For a budget under $200, I recommend checking out the Thinkware F200 PRO or VIOFO A129 Duo. Both options provide front and rear coverage and are known for their reliability and good video quality. These models should fit your needs and help ensure you have that added protection while driving. I went with Viofo A129 Duo almost 6 years ago, but I only use the front cam and never set up the rear cam. It's still going strong.
I run A129 Duo sets in both of my cars. One is probably getting on for 5 years old now and still running fine, even got transplanted between cars. Lots of people don’t realise that for video to work properly you do need a decent write speed for an SD card. A full buffer causes functional issues. Get a card from a manufacturer that photographers and videographers use. We always want monstrous write speeds. I Not sticking is entirely an operator error. Glass needs to be clean and I don’t mean just wiped over and visibly clean. It needs to be Isopropyl or acetone levels of clean and free of contaminants.
Bear in mind that a bespoke fit dashcam that cannot be moved from car to car. I’ve had my Viofo A129 across two vehicles, and it was £150 when I first got it, so over 6 years it’s offered great value and doesn’t show any signs of letting go. I would consider Viofo if you want a lower profile install that isn’t bespoke, all their designs seem to be blend in quite well, small enough to be tucked in behind the mirror. The hardwire kit (which I got for my fun car - I have one in each car) was quite cleverly put together. Newer versions also have upgraded STARVIS II processing from Sony for immense low light performance, though I would say the earlier STARVIS is more than good enough.
That's exactly what I did, I bought a pair Viofo A129 Duo from Amazon and brought them into the Fair Lakes location. I'll add from my first post, when I installed the Dash Cams in my original car, I had it hooked up by USB cause I didn't wanna mess with the fuse box or run more cords. The guy at Best Buy was able to hard wire it in to the system, so I can take advantage of the parking mode features.
