Viofo brands are very reliable and one of the most common ones. I have the Viofo 129 because I figured 1440p was enough quality, and I wasn't wrong. The one above is 4k resolution.
Easy install and even easier to tuck the wires. If you care enough though, their hardwiring is a seperate buy, but i heard most dash cams being hardwired in tend to always trickle battery power no matter what.

Personally use a Viofo 119v3, which is 150ish. Superb dashcam, and if you want one with a rear cam too you can get the a129 plus for under 300.
Viofo 2 channel(front and rear) in my cars. Been running for years with no issues. I believe the specific models are the A29 Pro. And a plus. Can be had for around $150-175. Set and forget. I’ve caught lots of crazy drivers to watch later too as a bonus!
Viofo and it isn't even close. Those things are engineered to be pretty much invincible in our climate.
Get the A119 V3, or the dual cam version (front or back).
As another poster said, don't even think about buying one that operates on batteries. Supercapacitor only - like all Viofo models.

It seems you need to spend ~~£150 on a good dash cam that can read number plates. I bought the dual viofo a129, seems like rlly good quality... Haven't had to use it yet, but on the things I do watch back ,quality is great.
Seems like a common reccomendation to purchase.
