"For what it ’s worth i have ZERO car experience and I got the viofo front and rear cam and used the donggar adapter to power it off the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror. ... I watched maybe 2 tutorials, went slow, and was able to get everything in place in well under an hour with no issues. ... Highly recommend, super easy to do."
"If ease of recording is important to you, I’d recommend finding the version of the A129 Pro Duo that comes with the optional Bluetooth Dash Button. ... It’s a little 1” x 1” black button that you can stick anywhere that’s easy to reach. One simple click and it saves the footage immediately."
"Comes with 10ft USB cable, easy to self install."

"I have the viofo duo. Would not recommend because mine does overheat. ... I was in an accident end of july 2 years ago and it did not capture it. ... The shock of the crash did trigger the g sensor so i have the footage of my car on its side and the recovery process afterwards, but not the actual wreck itself. ... When its not overheated you have tl remember to reset it for it to start filming again. Very frustrating. ... It works good in the winter months but ive left it unplugged since about march ... All i know is it works fine in the winter but anything over 90 i have to reset it everytime i turn the car on. And it wont turn on and let me reset it until its cooled off ... I pretty much gave up on it after months of it not working right."

I have a Viofo Dual cam; the current version would be A129 Pro Duo. I've had it for several years prior to owning my Mav. It's been very reliable and I like that I could add a CPL filter. Mine is hardwired in using #3 (Auto-dimming Interior mirror) for ignition on and #5 (Lock. Unlock) for constant power.
r/FordMaverickTruck • Hardwired dash cam ->Can vouch for Viofo, I've had A129 Pro Duo for a few years and it's not let me down, great image quality, cost something like $300 or so, hardwired it myself, all pretty simple. The only thing that failed on it was the 3M adhesive on a particularly hot day this year.
r/CarsAustralia • Best dashcams in Australia that cost less than $250? Or should I just get a BlackVue one for $1.5k? ->A129 pro duo i think. Works great.
r/LinusTechTips • Project Farm agrees, VIOFO A119 V3 is the best dash cam ->Viofo makes very good dash-cams available on Amzn, they’re highly ranked in reviews, not cheap units. I have three A229 2K dual cameras and A129 Pro 4K dual on a total of 4 cars. The A129 pro got stolen by tow truck driver when it was headed to the mechanic. If you’re DIY installing the rear camera can take a little bit of work threading the long cable, but lots of YouTube video step by steps. Viofo also has front-only A119 V3 cameras, those are easy to install you simply push the cable into the headliner and down the A pillar, around the back of the glove box to your 12V power source. There’s also a short power cable you can buy that tape power from the power home-link rear view mirror.
r/Camry • Those who got the dashcam installed, worth the cost? ->I have a VIOFO A129 Pro Duo hardwired on this and my precious CRV and it works fantastic.
r/ToyotaTacoma • Dash cam recommendations ->I’ve had the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo for almost two years now and it’s been great. Hardwired it to two different cars and both cars work great still.
r/Dashcam • What model dash cam do you have and how long has it been going for? ->VIOFO A129 Pro Duo. 4k front. 1080p rear. Installed hardwire ~2yrs ago and happy with it.
r/Subaru_Outback • Dash cam reccomendation 2025 Outback ->I’ve also had really good luck with the A119 and A129 in the Arizona heat for the last few years. Although most capacitor dashcams should be able to handle heat. Here are all the [operating temps for different cameras. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/s/8bg7mGCAsL) Hope that’s helpful
r/dashcams • Is there a heat resistant dashcam? ->Which one? I’ve had the A119 V3 and the A129 Pro duo in the hot Arizona climate for the last 7 years and they still work great.
r/dashcams • best amazon dashcam brand ->I’ve also had really good luck with the A119 and A129. Most capacitor dashcams should be able to handle extreme weather. Here are all the [operating temps for different cameras. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/s/8bg7mGCAsL) Hope that’s helpful
r/dashcams • Good dashcam for the cold ->I put the viofo A129 pro duo in my 19 and pulled it out a month ago after the car was totaled and reinstalled it in my 24. Was easy to hardwire with fuse taps. It doesn't like connecting to my android wirelessly so i pull the sd card if i want to check a video.
r/Crosstrek • Dash cam recommendations 24’ ->Great question! For the 2025 Tucson, a few dash cams seem to work particularly well depending on your needs. If you're looking for a sleek and integrated look, the VIOFO A129 Duo Pro is a solid option with front and rear cameras, great video quality, and parking mode. If you prefer something more discreet, the Thinkware U3000 is compact and offers advanced features like GPS and a wide dynamic range. Personally, I’ve been eyeing the Vantrue N4, as it has a three-channel setup (front, rear, and interior), which might be useful if you want comprehensive coverage. Do you plan on hardwiring the dash cam for parking mode, or are you sticking to a simpler plug-and-play option? I’m curious what direction you're leaning!"
r/HyundaiTucson • Any dash cam recommendations for 2025 Tuscon? ->I've had dashcams for over 12 years and have used Viofo in all our cars for probably 5 years or so. Excellent quality and very very reliable. I currently have viofo A129 dual 4k pros in our cars. Have a look at the dashcam forums for in depth reviews. https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->Viofo’s are a great value, but be cautious if you live in a high heat area. After 6 months of living in Phoenix (very hot summers, like 115 degrees), my A129 Pro Duo died. Replaced it under warranty and the second died within the next year because of over heating. Did thorough research and picked up a BlackVue 900X Plus and it’s been rock solid for the last 2 years.
r/dashcams • Whats the Best Dash Cam to Buy Right Now? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ->I have octavia mk4 facelift and I am running viofo 129 pro duo hardwired, could imagine a better one but this one does not give me a reason to switch. Saved my ass from an idiot backing up to me in my previous vehicle.
r/skoda • What dashcam do you use ->For anyone looking to get a dashcam look into the VIOFO a129 pro duo Front and rear, good quality and always has good reviews. It’s helped other people 2 times when I’ve witnessed accidents and it helped me when a semi truck was road raging and hit my car on the freeway.
r/milwaukee • Dash Cam Footage ->Really easy, you just download the footage straight to your phone through the cameras built-in WiFi. I have the A129 Pro Duo, it takes approx 2 minutes to download 4 minutes of 4k footage (2 minutes from each camera). Out the box it’s set to record 1 minute of footage, but I prefer extra protection of 2. Buy it from Aliexpress, it’s cheaper than any of the resellers.
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->If ease of recording is important to you, I’d recommend finding the version of the A129 Pro Duo that comes with the optional Bluetooth Dash Button. It’s a little 1” x 1” black button that you can stick anywhere that’s easy to reach. One simple click and it saves the footage immediately. Another feature that’s cool; if you happen to click record when it’s close to the start or end of a loop it will automatically save the closest adjacent loop.
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->I have the viofo A129 Pro Duo 4k with the hardwired kit & tapped into the fuse box. No interference with the radio on my Highlander. (Subaru's AM antenna is right where the back cam sits & there IS static) There are youtubes on how to run the wiring & hardwire it. Not hard.
r/ToyotaHighlander • Dashcam ->Anything with a Sony Starvis 2 sensor or a newer version so that you have the highest chance of being able to actually a plate when you need to. Viofo A229 Pro 2ch is what I installed in my wife's car, it has a Starvis 2 sensor. Very good video quality. I've got an older A129 Pro 2ch in my car. Even though it is not bad it is still hard to read plates.
r/belgium • Which dashcam do you recommend? ->[This ](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/s/QeRR14BywQ) is a good guide from the folks over at r/dashcams. Breaks it down by price point with reviews from others. I have the Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4K.
r/arizona • Dashcam recommendations? ->[This ](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/s/QeRR14BywQ) is a good guide from the folks over at r/dashcams. Breaks it down by price point with reviews from others. I have the Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4K. I mounted it left of the rear view mirror and centered at the top of my rear hatch window on my 24 wilderness. Used the 10 pin dongar adapter to wire into the mirror. Wiring that way doesn't do 24/7 recording but I didn't want that functionality. But I love it!
r/Subaru_Crosstrek • Dash Cam Recommendations ->Viofo A229 ultra gives you front and rear 4k. I'm running the A129 pro duo which is 4k front and 1080p rear. It also has parking mode if you hardwire it so then it can record any incidents that might happen while your car is off (it will stop drawing power when your battery drops below a threshold as to not drain it)
r/dashcams • RECCOMEND ME A GOOD DASH CAM ->Viofo is my go to. I'm running a video A129 pro duo (a little outside of you price range) but I believe they have a front and back that is within $150
r/dashcams • Dash Cam Rec for My BF (birthday gift) ->Second on Viofo. Have an A129 pro duo I think it is, front and rear cams. More pain to install the than a fitcam mostly the wiring, but it’s been solid running for 4-5 years now, moved it from my 2019 to my 2022 S60, video is always there when I need it, captures decent quality low bandwidth video in parking mode.
r/Volvo • Dash Cam ->My 2 3rd gens and when I had a 2023 I was using [this viofo a129](https://a.co/d/eNNnY4M) you can either use USB power from the console or hardwire to a fuse. And then currently on my 2025 i’m using [a fitcamx](https://a.co/d/8P5Aviv) that hooks up to the sunroof power but they also have a version that connects to your OBD. Install on this was pretty easy and it’s hidden as it just replaces the oem cover by the mirror. I linked the 2019-2023 version but they also make one for 2024+ for anyone looking. If anything OP check out r/dashcam wiki/sidebar
r/mazda3 • What is the best dash cam for my 4th gen? ->I have a VIOFO A129 Pro Duo and have been happy with it.
r/bayarea • Dashcam recommendations? ->Any dashcam from Viofo. Choose the model that fit your needs. I use A129 Pro at the front, powered by OBD port, so it gets power 24/7 for parking mode. Warn you this may stress the 12V battery. For the back I have a A119 V3 (from my old car) connected to the cigarette port. So no parking mode as the port cuts power when the car is locked. Not the most discreet dashcams but very good build quality and video quality for the price. Not just my own words. See [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLjGazIxjEA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLjGazIxjEA)
r/Polestar • Best dash cams? ->I have the Thinkware U3000 2 channel. It fits my needs but I miss the screen my viofo a129 pro had. The rear camera on the Thinkware fits under my rear sunshade which is why I went with this one.
r/dashcams • What front and rear dash cam are you running right now? ->1) Viofo A129 Pro 2) 70mai A800 SE 3) Vantrue N4 Pro 4) Qubo Hero Pro I have these 4 in my cars. My favorite app to use is Qubo, it’s very user friendly and it’s a breeze to set up and get it running. My favorite image quality is Vantrue, it’s pristine and read things super clear, day and night. My best VFM has to be 70mai tho because the Vantrue is nice but pricey and 70mai does 90% of the stuff for a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps ☺️ Edit: I would also suggest getting front and back. It’s more peace of mind. You’ll have more evidence and more angles covered.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Dashcam in Abu Dhabi?? Recommendations? ->Have you seen/heard about problems with video retention after impact? My A129Pro lost 2 months of video after a major crash including video of the crash itself.
r/dashcams • whats an affordable dual dash cam under 150 dollars ->Viofo A129 Duo. Skip the Plus - they removed the motion detection feature which is handy for parking up (can run it off a power bank and it'll sip power - or a hardwire kit which has a low voltage protection setting). Skip the Pro - not really worth the added cost for 4K imo and you'll need to spend more on an SD card.
r/CarTalkUK • What is the best dashcam to buy? ->Viofo has always been the sweet spot of bang for buck IMO. On the high end, the A229 Pro gets you the same top tier STARVIS 2 image sensor for $120 less than the Blackvue DR970X. On the lower end, you can get a 4K A129 Pro for less than the cost of Blackvue’s 1080p DR590X model. Blackvue has the benefit of form factor, being manufactured in Korea instead of China, and a much, much better app though.
r/GR86 • Best OEM+ looking dashcams? ->I had good luck with a Viofo A129 Pro. Make sure it is the pro version of the A129 or it is not likely to be a 4K camera. They may have them on sale at times even. The A129 Pro was once a lot more expensive and the price came down. I think it is on sale for $199 plus taxes and possible tariffs (sadly). I am not sure if they do free shipping but shop around and don't pay some absurd price for it. Viofo was good and sent it out quickly enough, no waiting a month or more. They were even good when I ordered accessories from them, no long waits. Those accessories were polarizing filters and a remote to lock videos with so you don't have to reach up to save it. I don't know how the picture quality compares to others but it is not the worst at night, just not the best for night. Works good in the day time. Here is a sample for you from mine: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GfCKn6-PQzF-tgjty7yIlPuzCfLGS25s/view?usp=drive\_link](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GfCKn6-PQzF-tgjty7yIlPuzCfLGS25s/view?usp=drive_link) It is a link only because this site does not keep the original resolution. It should also give you an idea how far away a plate can be captured and still readable. On the sides of the video, a lot of cameras can make it hard to read the plate as you may have noticed with a lot of other people's clips.
r/Dashcam • Best 4k dashcam for youtube travel videos? ->Viofo A129 is $190 and is 4k 30 fps. Comes with 10ft USB cable, easy to self install.
r/LexusGX • OEM dashcam installed ->I'm using a VIOFO A129 Pro. If I would buy a new one today it would probably be the A229 Pro. I bought mine here: https://www.viofo.nl/ Make sure you get the CPL filter, but buy a 256 card at bol.com. The one at viofo.nl is only 128. Some great reviews at dashcamtalk.com. They have an active forum as well.
r/belgium • Which dashcam do you recommend? ->Viofo A129 Pro has been a good suggestion on here to start with. You mentioned gig driving. Do you need 2 channel models for front and rear/ front and interior? A 12v splitter so you can run the dashcam and phone charger is the cheapest and easiest. Next would be Thinkware ODBII power adapter. There may be other brands, but at this moment, I can not remember. Next would be a hardwired kit. There may be a way to pull power from your rear view mirror if it has electrics (compass/dimming/garage or gate opener). There are several kits that are from dashcam brands and/or vehicle specific kits to make it easier.
r/Dashcam • Dash cam for gig delivery driving ->I just got the A329T (Telephoto), as i need a separate camera for the rear on my car. I'm amazed how good it is, and how much of a step upfrom my previous A129 Pro.
r/Dashcam • Car dash cameras ->Have had front/rear VIOFO A129 PRO 4y+ in my Tundra, have other newer and older V’s in our other vehicles, all still running. Go to dashcamtalk “Best Cams of 2025”
r/tundra • Dashcam ->My Viofo A129 Pro (capacitor) has been running for over 4 and a half years in my car in the very hot Alabama heat
r/Dashcam • Anyone running a capacitor dash cam for over a year? ->I've been thoroughly happy with viofo a129 pro
r/WRX • Dash cam recommendations? ->VIOFO duo pro plus, 91k miles best dash cam ever with auto cutoff
r/VWiD4Owners • Dashcam recommendations please? ->Viofo 3 camera think it's a 329a with parking mode , excellent set up and images. Roughly £300 + 50 professional fitting. Wife got the 129 viofo 2 camera system with parking mode
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->I've had viofi I think the a129 top model. Was like 350ish. It's good. I mean I haven't had to use it for an accidental purpose yet. Touch wood right. Owned for about 12 months roughly. And the app is easy enough. Quality is good. Previous was the redtiger. So not get this. Didn't last, most reviews are fake in my opinion. Hope this can help in the decision making. All depends on your budget at the end of the day
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->Most VIOFOs, specially the more recent ones like the A129s, A229s, and A329s can be hardwired and voltage regulated to your vehicle and run in parking mode for several hours off your car's battery with the appropriate hardwire kit. That means it won't drain your battery and you don't have to purchase another unit to power it. They also have rear and interior cameras for covering more than one side of the car.
r/dashcams • Best dash cam to catch vandalism ->I ended up going with a viofo A229 Plus because my last ones were A129s and they were the old version apparently. I bought them about 6 months before they released the the updated versions with starvis 2 and usb-c. Mine had the micro USB so it was a pain to unplug and replug when it would freeze or decide not to turn on. It has enough positive feedback that I was willing to give it another chance.
r/Dashcam • Should I give viofo another chance? ->I have the viofo 2 for the last 2 years and it’s working fine. Wiring is not too hard and you can’t see any cable
r/phoenix • Affordable car dash cams that can survive the Phoenix heat? ->old.reddit.com/r/dashcams is a good place to start, their sidebar / FAQ is good. It seems you need to spend ~~£150 on a good dash cam that can read number plates. I bought the dual viofo a129, seems like rlly good quality... Haven't had to use it yet, but on the things I do watch back ,quality is great. Seems like a common reccomendation to purchase.
r/CarTalkUK • Recommend Dash Cams ->I did a lot of research and ended up going for the Viofo A129 front and back. Been very pleased with the quality! I can probably take a few videos off if you want to see.
r/drivingUK • It's been over a week, I think I'm past the point of crying now (dash cam footage) ->No trouble at all! I keep a USB-C memory card reader in the car at all times to make it easy to view and download videos on the go. Not sure if I can find a night video but I'll have a look, if not I can probably take it out for a quick run round the block for you. I don't recall looking into those, I watched an awful lot of reviews and it narrowed it down pretty quick to the Viofo for what I wanted personally - front and back, good video quality, but optional hardwiring.
r/drivingUK • It's been over a week, I think I'm past the point of crying now (dash cam footage) ->I’ve got both a single and a dual unit in our cars and they’ve been largely flawless. I’ve had two incidents where they seemed to glitch out and record nothing but a factory reset and they’ve been fine again - and we are talking two incidents over at least five years now. For the price they’re a great buy IMO.
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->I suggest VIOFO. Preferably a duo. The model depends on how much you feel comfortable with spending. Most good cameras are plug and play. Easy install and easy to set up with the app.
r/Dashcam • I’d like to buy a dashcam for my dad’s birthday but I’m lost with all the options ->Get the Viofo A129 instead, it's the dual channel version. Rear camera plugs into a 2nd USB port with a provided cable. I used to use this until I switched over to a FitCamX recently. Sell the A119 to someone. Run the cable along the floor underneath the door still trim pieces and zip-tie or tape as needed to the floor wiring harness. (Or just shove it under the trim pieces through the gaps with the carpet, not too difficult) At the back, run it up the body through the rear door trim and C pillar, and go across towards the top center of the rear windshield underneath the headliner (be careful not to crease the headliner). You can power the main front camera using the USB 12V adapter or get your own OBD-II adapter. Just be careful that the OBD-II provides power all the time and you will eventually drain the battery.
r/accord • Rear facing dash cam- how do you all have yours set up / wired? ->Viofo is a fairly well regarded brand. The A129 is about $250 for a dual channel unit. Less for a single channel. The A119 is a slightly older version but goes for around $180 I think. They stand up fairly well in the Australian heat. A lot of cameras just cook in the closed cabin in the summer sun.
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->+1 for Viofo a129 front & rear. Install was fairly easy. Would recommend a set of trim tools to get behind the a pillar air bag and down the side trim to the rear. Camera has been reliable, no complaints
r/GolfGTI • Opinions on Dash Cams? ->I have a Viofo A129 two-channel camera. One front facing and one mounted to the back tailgate window. You can run a wire from the back to the front to connect to the front camera. Not an ad but if you're in Scarborough, I had Safe and Sound on Nantucket near Kennedy Rd install it. Pretty solid job by them, wired up everything and hid the wires. Edit: a good SD card with lots of storage goes a long way.
r/TorontoDriving • Recommendations for dash cams? ->Check out the brand VIOFO. In my own research, across all brands, I find them to offer the highest video quality at a mid level price. I own the 4k front and rear set and with the added on sun glare lens attachment. Never had an issue.
r/melbourne • Given the general level of sketchiness of Melbourne drivers, I don't think a dash cam is optional any more. ->This, they are the best. Expensive, but WORTH IT. I have a Viofo Mini one (A129? sorry, forgot name) on the windshield and on the back some random $30 bucks one that sadly does not auto-delete oldest clips when memory gets full.
r/COROLLA • My first toyota car (2017) 🙏 ->I suggest to get any Viofo besides the A229 (audio quality can turn loud at certain times), Either go with the A119 or A129, best models or either a Garmin or Thinkware, you can find some of them for under $200 or $100 and they're very easy to install!
r/rav4club • Is the integrated dashcam worth it? ->I installed the VioFo A129 front and rear dash cam system. It was pretty straightforward. Just make sure you have a trim tool from Harbor freight. This video below basically walks you through it step-by-step. I did not hardwire anything into the fuse box. I’m just using the cigarette lighter. https://youtu.be/aLVQEpw8I1E?si=BS6yz4EGqiDhHyP3
r/KiaTelluride • Has anyone installed a front and rear dash cam? Wondering what wiring the rear one will be like and the best way to do that. This is the one I just ordered on Amazon and it was one of their top reviewed. ->Same here, exact same model been going strong for 6 summers now.
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->Been using the viofo a129 for the past 5 years and still going well. Got the package one with front and rear cam included. It can also either be hard wired (with instructions) but I just plugged it in my auxiliary port cause I cant be bothered. Just tidied up the wirings and made sure its well tucked in the headboard as well as the pillars for a clean look. One important thing to consider as well is getting a good memory card. Make sure to get at least a high endurance/class 10 and ensure to refresh it every quarter or so.
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->Experience with various dashcams and upgrading the battery in my car to the largest AGM type that will fit in the battery tray. (096 70ah). My car was vandalised twice and both times the dashcam, a Viofo A129, had stopped recording in under 12 hours. Replaced it with a Thinkware U3000 and now get a few days.
r/drivingUK • Help!!! My car keeps getting hit no ->My Viofo A129 has handled Florida weather for years.
r/Dashcam • Best dashcam for HOT locations? ->I use Viofo A129 on my cars. It’s top-rated for a reason - good price, 4K video recording, wifi connectivity, capacitor-powered (instead of batteries that bloat and degrade in heat), front and rear cameras. Newest model is now the A329.
r/CarsPH • what are your recommended dash cams??????????????? ->I got the viofo a129, and it won't accept power from the usb-c. It beeps for 5 minutes, then shuts off. Is the vs1 lower power?
r/VWiD4Owners • Dashcam that is powered by the USB C? ->+1 for VIOFO. I have the A129 for many years now and extremely good. If you don’t want to go through the process of hardwiring to the camera there is an adapter from Dongar you can buy to get power from the rear view mirror. That’s what I did and it works great!
r/SubaruAscent • Camera/Dashcam system? ->My 8-year-old Viofo A129 is still working well, has good definition, and I like its mounting position. Good value for money.
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->Just to add to the viofo line up… I have the a129, in the 86 and my Impreza lol Good cam for the price, not the best quality for reading plates but most cams around this price struggle with reading plates in motion
r/ft86 • Best dash camera for the 86? ->I have the A129, didn’t get the hardwire kit but ik another brz that has it and they have no complaints. What you get for the price was reasonable enough that I put the same set up in my wife’s car and sold my brother on the same camera lol
r/ft86 • Recommended installation of DashCam in a 2016 Subaru BRZ? ->Viofo A129 ish. Happy with the original on my car, bought the latest version for my partner's car. Cheap but reliable, wouldn't want to go any cheaper.
r/CarsAustralia • What is everyone’s go to Dashcam in 2024 ->Both cars had the viofo a129 with the rear camera too. I did have to replace the adheshive pads for both cameras from the heat over the years
r/phoenix • Affordable car dash cams that can survive the Phoenix heat? ->I installed the viofo A129 myself using the adapter plug in the cigarette lighter, not wired direct. It was very easy to do and no problems so far. It was my first time doing something like this so I was worried about routing it under the headliner but with a little youtube help it was no issue at all!
r/CX50 • Dash Cam experience? ->I absolutely loathe Best Buy, but they have a great installer near me, so he's done several cars for me and my son. We both have the Viofo A129. Have had it for over 5 years in the Texas heat and never one issue. Love having the front and rear cameras. (You also have to purchase the hardwire kit separately.)
r/KiaTelluride • Dash cam recommendations? ->People shit on the Viofo, but I've had nothing other than a good experience with the A129, and the fact it actually picks up license plates during the day AND at night, as well as recording at 60fps (reducing frame blur if you need to go frame by frame) for the $190 I paid for it on eBay is really good. That Linus dashcam comparison video was such an important watch as well. So many big brands just outright ripping people off.
r/CarsAustralia • Best dashcams in Australia that cost less than $250? Or should I just get a BlackVue one for $1.5k? ->I installed a Viofo A129 in my 2016 Elite and it's been fantastic. I have the same thing in my truck. For the Odyssey, you'll need the long 8m cable to reach all the way to the back. I have mine hardwired so it has parking mode. They have a newer version that has a better rear camera, the A229.
r/HondaOdyssey • Dashcam recommendation for odyssey?? ->Viofo is my go-to. I've installed a119, a229, and a129. App is a little wonky sometimes but great picture and audio.
r/FordBronco • Dash cams? ->I hardwired the Viofo A129 myself on my NA premium a while back but 4 months after installation, my car battery decided to not work bricking my entire car causing me to have to jump it and bring it to the dealership. Paid $195 for diagnostic just for them to write me a report on how I had a low voltage code and “possibly left a light on”. They also suspected the dashcam to be the issue but highly doubt it as I’ve had other dashcams hardwired into my other cars with motion recording. Voltage was set on 12V and 24V on the VIOFO hardwire kit. Made a post a while back titled “CX50 Bricked” if you wanna see how my car was
r/CX50 • Dash Cam experience? ->VIOFO A129, STARVIS2 sensor is amazing, fitcam is nicely integrated but the quality is not great and there have been some QC issues
r/GRCorolla • Dash cam recommendations ->VIOFO in general make FANTASTIC dash cams. I couldn't be happier with both my A129 & A229
r/LinusTechTips • Project Farm agrees, VIOFO A119 V3 is the best dash cam ->I’ve also had really good luck with the A119 and A129 in the Arizona heat for the last few years. Although most capacitor dashcams should be able to handle heat. Here are all the [operating temps for different cameras. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/s/8bg7mGCAsL) Hope that’s helpful

r/Dashcam • First time buying a dashcam and seriously overwhelmed. Which one fits my requirements the best? ->I’ve had really good luck with the A119 and A129 in the Arizona heat for the last few years. Although most capacitor dashcams should be able to handle heat. r/Dashcam • Dashcam recommendations for scorching Nevada summers? ->What this guy said about the interference. The dealer will still say it is a problem, but that is not true. I have the Blackview, but I would get the A129 by viofo (I believe) as it has a screen so if the app is no more, you can still control it easier.
r/Subaru_Outback • Best Dashcam ->Viofo A119,A129, or A229 depending on what you’re looking for are all good. The cable thing you tuck it in behind your trim so it isn’t dangling. Going to be a thing for any dash cam.
r/orlando • Dash Cameras ->As for the brand I have an volofo A129. One camera in front and one in thee rear. It's pretty nice and easy to install if you do it yourself Best sure it gets wired in for power for both car-running and no key power. It will stay in a suspended state but monitor for bumps, and start recording.
r/orlando • Dash cams ->Can confirm mine has also survived Vegas’ summers
r/Dashcam • Best dashcam for HOT locations? ->This is the advice I got from the owner of Dash cams Australia. Viofo A129 if you are on a budget and blackvue if you can afford it.
r/CarsAustralia • What is everyone’s go to Dashcam in 2024 ->Dual channel if you can justify the higher price. Dual channel just means you get a rear camera too.
r/CarsAustralia • What is everyone’s go to Dashcam in 2024 ->I've had a few different brands, currently have three viofo cameras in our vehicles. A129 is plenty good enough, a229 plus/ pro has a better sensor for night at a pretty steep price. I don't feel high dollar dashcams are worth buying, even a fuzzy picture with front and rear coverage is enough to prove fault. Having a license plate be legible is hit or miss even on the fancy ones, and rarely helps ya deal with insurance or nor will the cops chase down a hit and run in a city. I recommend a front and rear cam (the viofo records two videos, not one video with the rear overlayed) and something with either voice activation or a remote "emergency" record button. Viofo has a remote record button for 20 bucks that works on a few of their newer cameras.
r/f150 • Dash Cam recommendations ->I have a a229 pro and it's pretty good. Any cheapo dashcam (with front and rear recording) is enough to prove liability. Reading plates is pretty useless unless the other guy has insurance and the cops are bored enough to go find him, and he admits to being the driver. Honestly the a129 and a229 are very close image wise, the a229 does a bit better at night though.
r/f150 • Dash Camera ->I have the VIOFO A229 now after running the A129 for a while. Great quality and easy to set up. My only issue I’ve had with both is that it sometimes doesn’t turn off with the truck so I’ll have to unplug it. Not really sure why it does that, happens randomly.
r/FordMaverickTruck • Dash Cam ->I used to use a Viofo A129 but when I got my m340i I just started using the Drive Recording feature
r/BMW • What dashcams are you guys running? ->Long time fan of the Viofo series. Got the A129 at the moment, hardwired into the fuse box.
r/BMW • What dashcams are you guys running? ->Second this - I have the A129 (I think) front and rear and its been great so far.
r/CarsAustralia • Best dashcams in Australia that cost less than $250? Or should I just get a BlackVue one for $1.5k? ->I've had an a129 viofo for a few years it still works but it's very inconsistent as far as recording when you need it to and doing random beeps that make no sense It's also extremely slow with Wi-Fi transfer are newer ones any better?
r/dashcams • Whats the Best Dash Cam to Buy Right Now? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ->Thinkware, Blackvue or Viofo. I use an older Viofo A129.
r/Volvo • Dash Cam ->Cool I’ve got that model. Works very well. 👍
r/Dashcam • Hello I need help picking out a dash cam. Im also ranting about my old dash cam (sorry to bother) ->I've had a Viofo A129 for a couple of years now, and I leave it in the car 24/7 without issues despite the heat and cold. As far as installing it, it shouldn't be too hard - look around on Youtube, there are tons of video tutorials so I'd be surprised if you can't find your specific car, then you'll know exactly what you're getting into. But the TL;DW is that you just pry back the head liner and the plastic covers around your door frame, run the wire behind them with some zip ties, and finally (assuming you have a fuse adapter kit, which I highly recommend), find the right fuse using your manual and/or a multi-meter then plug it in.
r/Austin • Learn me on your Austin dashcams. What holds up here? ->Viofo A119 or A129 (rear cam as well). Best value at the price point. Blackvue is one of the best but the price reflects it. The Viofo ones you can get on Amazon, and are easy to install.
r/Edmonton • the importance of owning a dash cam ->I have two Viofo A129 (front and rear) and a 139 (3 channel). Took last summer like a champ.
r/vegaslocals • Dash cams that hold up to the heat here? ->Here is mine on a CX-5 : [https://imgur.com/a/vbGrhUh](https://imgur.com/a/vbGrhUh) I did the fa200 in this one and wired it to the fuse you could check out the VIOFO A129 which i did on another car to the cigarette lighter To run the wire I did not pull anything out/off (Except for the tailgate), Just pry a little and shove the cord in. Once you get it started, keep pushing inch by inch and it goes pretty quick.
r/KiaTelluride • Dash cam recommendations? ->Congrats on making the right switch. My Viofo A129 which I purchased back in 2019 on AliExpress finally gave up. With updated type C wiring I am dreading upgrading to new ones since I hardwired mine. VIOFO is the way to go. It survived summers due to its super-capacitor design.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->I got Viofo A129 in August ‘19 from AliExpress when it wasn’t sold here and it has been going strong despite few hiccups. The body has melted the lens became out of focus (so I disassembled and fixed it) the GPS module melted as well so couldn’t mount camera on it but the cameras still record and I still have it on my daily just without the GPS. Been thinking of putting dashcam on the other car and this might be it, with RWC400 it will be easier to mount on the split rear doors.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • VIOFO Dash Cam Giveaway + Sneak Peek at the New A329S Series ->I used a VIOFO a129 for a few years. I ended up buying another one as I wanted a 4K camera. I hardwired it and hid the wires behind the paneling on my car so it wasn’t noticeable and I had front and rear cameras. I ended up taking them out before I sold my car.
r/orlando • Dash Cameras ->Viofo A129. I've had it hard wired into my cars for years at this point. They are always outside in the hot Phoenix summer. Make sure you get a high endurance SD card.
r/Dashcam • Best dashcam for HOT locations? ->Viofo A129 or A229. Avoid Viofo A139, this model was nice because it had mini coax cables, but it's unreliable. When they start to fail they go into a boot loop randomly.
r/askcarguys • Best Dashcam Value? ->Dunno. I have an A129 and put a Samsung Pro Endurance card in it
r/Dashcam • Viofo A229 turning off during summer ->Viofo a129 is by far the best image quality ive seen in a dashcam
r/civic • Best Dash Cam ->As an insurance agent, I think EVERYONE should have a dashcam. Preferably one with front and rear facing cameras. There are some great 4k cameras out there with Bluetooth capabilities. Viofo has some great cameras that get amazing reviews, but they are expensive. For more budget conscious individuals REDTIGER F7NP is a great option as well that has wireless, but it’s not Bluetooth. We have them installed on all of our vehicles.
r/asksandiego • How many people here thought about a dash camera installation in their vehicle? ->Second the VIOFO pro suggestion. I bought off amazon and paid Best Buy to install
r/Austin • where should i go to buy a decent dashcam that can also install it for me? ->Very happy with my Viofo excellent low light 4k
r/ram_trucks • Help with Dash Cam Recommendation ->Viofo 4k, love them and keep upgrading on all 3 cars in the fam
r/Subaru_Outback • Recommendation on Dash cams 2025 outback ->Viofo 4K, with or without hardwire kit.
r/CarsAustralia • Best dashcams in Australia that cost less than $250? Or should I just get a BlackVue one for $1.5k? ->There's also viofo 4k If you run from usb or lighter socket then there isn't a issue. When you hardwire it for parking mode there is a hardwire kit that'll automatically cut off power if the battery goes below a set voltage In any case these cameras should not take more than a few hundred milliamps when operational. 5amp can run like 4 of these camera
r/CarsIndia • Thoughts on this dashcam offered for Taigun by VW showroom in Pune? ->Came here to say viofo. It's the best out of everything I've tried. Once the blackvue dies that's getting switch out to a viofo dual channel. Also everyone should check out plugging the USB power to the powered rearview mirror adapter if theirs is powered instead of running cables along the headliner and door.
r/4Runner • Looking for Dashcam recommendations ->Viofo dual channel, no question.
r/Parenting • Recommendation request: dash cam for teen driver? ->It has repeatedly shown up as the top of pack across many reviews over many years. There are really only 2 or 3 sensors and boards for those cameras, so out of the ones with the best hardware it is the cheapest.
r/Parenting • Recommendation request: dash cam for teen driver? ->I have VIOFO front and rear cam, had it three years without any problems
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->For what it’s worth i have ZERO car experience and I got the viofo front and rear cam and used the donggar adapter to power it off the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror. I watched maybe 2 tutorials, went slow, and was able to get everything in place in well under an hour with no issues. The biggest hurdle was getting the wired connection from the front camera to the rear one so you could just skip the rear facing one for even less hassle. Highly recommend, super easy to do.
r/Lexus • Wireless dash cam ->That new fish eye camera is a game changer! Maybe closest thing to a Sentry mode on tesla imo . VIOFO sentry for the win ! That said , had one major accident on my previous car where the driver wasn’t willing to accept his mistake ( he came out of parking between two cars while I was on main road and literally tore the sheet metal off of my front and back door ) . When called to the police station I showed them the footage and safe to say I was given the green paper . Dashcam investment gave back 1000x returns haha
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • VIOFO Dash Cam Giveaway + Sneak Peek at the New A329S Series ->I'm a big fan of the A119/A129 and related dashcams. Installed mine with the dongar adapter, very quick and easy
r/MachE • Dash cam options ->I have a VIOFO front and back cam. It records every time I take off or push the remote. I do t think they are crazy expensive and the quality it good
r/motorcycles • Good cameras that don’t break the bank? ->Yes, but I’d recommend a dashcam with higher resolution than 1080p. Preferably 2.5K* or 4K. I like Viofo.
r/Camry • Dash cam ->I have a couple viofo A-series, they're awesome. Wolfbox is also getting popular.
r/Challenger • Recommendation for dash cam? ->The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.
r/Polestar • Dash cam Recommendations ->Viofo from hachielectronics. It plugs from my fake engine noise so it doesn't have to take up usb space nor have to do any fuse voodoo.
r/subaru • Dash cam people please let me know what your using and why? ->For install, look up a video on how to install one and it tells you which fuse to tap. You’ll have to drill a hole on the silver frame of the dashboard to get a ground but overall it’s not hard to install. I recommend Vioflo or Nextbase.
r/Silverado • Dashcam ->GKU D700 - around $122 on Amazon after coupon. Have 3 of these in our household and they’ve been flawless (installed with the hardwire kit for an extra $25ish). App is great, decent size touchscreen, good quality front and rear video and capacitor based I believe. Had Viofos in the past which didn’t last more than 1-2 years, so thought I’d give these a try.
r/CarsAustralia • DASHCAM ON BUDGET ->I've owned several Viofos and I don't trust them anymore with their built in capacitors that died. I now have 70mai brand. Have the model A800S
r/Ioniq5 • Recommendations for a dash cam? ->I've owned a bunch of Viofos but have switched to 70mai for the Ioniq 5. But anyways, you should mount it on the plastic part with just the lens peeking enough to view the street. Or put it on the right side of the plastic housing. It's annoying having the dashcam visible in your eyeline.
r/Ioniq5 • Installed my dash cam today. Thought I would share info ->I've ran several viofos with no problems. Currently run a A119 V3. No problem easy install. Been running them for years. Usually if something is wrong, its the sd card.
r/ram_trucks • Any opinions on a good dash cam? ->Try watching Dashcmas Australia, take of the the crappy ones and the good footages. Most of the good ones I see consistently are Viofos.
r/CarsAustralia • Dashcam suggestions ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
