Viofo A129 duo, it's an old model had it about 4/5 years but still works.
Just got a front only A129 for my s2000 as well I've never had any issues with them.
It depends on how much you want to have recorded around you, and how much you're wiling to spend.
I have a Nofio A129 4K dashcam and it's fantastic. I don't have it hardwired, I just plug it in when I'm driving and unplug it when I park so it doesn't drain my battery ('01 Silverado's have their 12V sockets always powered)
Just starting out, wanting to get a good cam but not spend too much, I'd recommend a 4K Viofio camera that's just forward-facing. If you're paranoid about someone rear-ending you, then get a forward and backward facing camera kit. Only reason I say 4K is so you have a much better chance of being able to make out someone's license plate in the footage if a hit and run happens.

My favorite app to use is Qubo, it’s very user friendly and it’s a breeze to set up and get it running.
My favorite image quality is Vantrue, it’s pristine and read things super clear, day and night.
My best VFM has to be 70mai tho because the Vantrue is nice but pricey and 70mai does 90% of the stuff for a fraction of the cost.

Edit: I would also suggest getting front and back. It’s more peace of mind. You’ll have more evidence and more angles covered.
I’ve had the VIOFO a129 pro in my truck for over 3 years and the a229 pro 3 channel in my Prius almost 2 years. From all my research the a229 is the best price to picture quality you can get. I’ve never had an issue with license plates being unreadable. I’ve got both hardwired in so they record even when the cars off. Phone app works good enough to pull footage and show cops on the scene of an accident.
I’ve had my VIOFO a129 pro on my truck that’s parked outside 24/7 for almost 3 years, no issues with that one. I’ve never had either the a129 or a229 have issues with the heat.
I had good luck with a Viofo A129 Pro. Make sure it is the pro version of the A129 or it is not likely to be a 4K camera. They may have them on sale at times even. The A129 Pro was once a lot more expensive and the price came down. I think it is on sale for $199 plus taxes and possible tariffs (sadly). I am not sure if they do free shipping but shop around and don't pay some absurd price for it. Viofo was good and sent it out quickly enough, no waiting a month or more. They were even good when I ordered accessories from them, no long waits. Those accessories were polarizing filters and a remote to lock videos with so you don't have to reach up to save it. I don't know how the picture quality compares to others but it is not the worst at night, just not the best for night. Works good in the day time. It is a link only because this site does not keep the original resolution. It should also give you an idea how far away a plate can be captured and still readable. On the sides of the video, a lot of cameras can make it hard to read the plate as you may have noticed with a lot of other people's clips.
