"For what it ’s worth i have ZERO car experience and I got the viofo front and rear cam and used the donggar adapter to power it off the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror. ... I watched maybe 2 tutorials, went slow, and was able to get everything in place in well under an hour with no issues. ... Highly recommend, super easy to do."

"it's honestly 2-3 minutes extra work to connect a second wire, for the likes of a Viofo A139. ... The first connection is always on. The second connection goes to something that only comes down with the ignition. This means the camera can tell when the car is off and change into a lower power (1 frame per second) parking mode."
"Supports parking recording"

Wait you can mod the firmware on Viofos? I never knew this. I have the A129 pro (1440p front 1080p rear)
r/Volvo • I highly recommend the FITCAMX for anyone looking for a dashcam. Very easy installation that looks 100% OEM. Great 4K video quality too. ->Ahh makes sense. I have pretty hot summers where I am. Sometimes 115F in car
r/Volvo • I highly recommend the FITCAMX for anyone looking for a dashcam. Very easy installation that looks 100% OEM. Great 4K video quality too. ->Viofo a139 duo (it’s been replaced by the a139 duo pro )or red tiger f9 these both have no screens on them so they are tiny
r/Dashcam • first dash cam buy recommendation ->I use the Viofo A139 2 channel for all of my cars and never had an issue with it besides the one time I bent the coaxial cable running to the rear camera disconnecting it. Tiny unit but captures very well.
r/Subaru_Outback • Dash cam set-up and models ->Really liking our viofo A139. Really clear image!
r/CarTalkUK • What is the best dashcam to buy?
It was watching DCOA videos and paying attention to the brand watermarks what made me pick my Viofo A139. Image quality is great day and night, picture is clear and sharp without feeling over sharpened. Hardwiring was pretty simple too. Fantastic insurance, worth every cent.
r/CarsAustralia • DASHCAM ON BUDGET ->Same here Viofo A139. most of the time it works but in the summer its a throw of the dice.
r/phoenix • Affordable car dash cams that can survive the Phoenix heat? ->My Viofo A139 just kicked the bucket and kept power cycling. Need to contact them and see how they handle it
r/Dashcam • First-time dashcam buyer — what should I avoid? ->I've had Viofo A139's in my cars for 4 years now, they still work flawlessly even after enduring a couple of Texas summers parked outside. Great build quality on them.
r/Insurance • Those in the auto insurance industry: what dash cam do you recommend? ->They also have the A139 model, same starvis 2 sensor but it doesn't come with a screen so it's even less of a footprint. Can't say I've ever used my dashcams screen for much. I generally turn on the wifi and check from my phone app.
r/GR86 • Best OEM+ looking dashcams? ->\+1 to this as well, why I got the Viofo A139. At the time one of the first with the Starvis 2, but now there are a few.
r/vegaslocals • Dash Cam Recs? ->Iv had viofo a229 last years no problem but my viofo a139 exploded last summer and i get sent a replacement
r/vegaslocals • Dash cams that hold up to the heat here? ->I have the viofo 2 for the last 2 years and it’s working fine. Wiring is not too hard and you can’t see any cable
r/phoenix • Affordable car dash cams that can survive the Phoenix heat? ->I got two Pruveeos 9 years ago. One is still going, but the other died after 6 years. I got a 2 channel Viofo for my wife's car. The rear camera died at 13 months which stopped the front from recording. I figured out that the front worked fine if I unplugged the rear. They wanted me to pay $40 for a replacement rear cam though it was still in warranty. I just tossed it and switched to Garmin. I'm not saying to buy Pruveeo the video quality sucks, but they were only $37.
r/Dashcam • Overwhelmed with dashcam options. What should I get? ->Those 3w liners are great! Rocking a Viofo 2 channel cam as well. Good recs!
r/ToyotaSienna • Just bought a 2025 Sienna Woodland — what accessories do you recommend (family w/ 2 kids)? Dashcam recs also welcome! ->I have the next step up from the one they tested and the Viofo is great, the 2 channel was easy to run, and I used a dongar pro, so power was super easy. https://preview.redd.it/fy856ri9mope1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=5afc3127ef5ff91ab75ebfce0f5e4b6e6f553df4
r/ToyotaTacoma • for those of you who have dashcams, what’s the best one that you’d recommend? ->I recommend Viofo 2 channels
r/dashcams • Dashcam noob here, what's worth paying for? ->I would recommend a viofo dashcam, I've out mine to the left side of the mirror and down just far enough to see under the black dot Matrix port. It's got a great view of the road and I can easily reach the incident button if needed. I've got the 2 channel one so the rest camera is in the middle of the back. There are several options from them but anything more than 2K on the front feels excessive.
r/civic • Where should you place the dash cam without blocking the front view? ->I have a 2 channel Viofo and it's really good. Viofo also has pretty regular sales too FYI. The GRC is really easy to run wires to the back and upper windshield with no wires showing too.
r/GRCorolla • Dash cam recommendations ->I put a Garmin mini dash cam in the wife’s Highlander using the mirror tap for power and a rearview mirror mount. In my pickup I run a 2 channel VIOFO. Thought I needed one with a screen but finding out it’s not that important. I like that the Garmin connects to home WiFi and automatically dumps saved videos.
r/ToyotaHighlander • Dashcam ->I have a hardwired Viofo 2-channel kit, and it serves my purposes well.
r/subaru • Best Dashcams? ->My exact setup as well.
r/radardetectors • Best radar detector with dash cam in 2024? ->I see. I myself have a Uniden R8 and double channel viofo dashcam. I think the uniden is on its 3rd year now and the dashcam I've had for 6 years...only changed the SD card.
r/radardetectors • Best radar detector with dash cam in 2024? ->VIOFO is a really popular brand. The front-rear one I installed in my cars have caught some interesting parked moments. The cameras look like TEMU junk but they are not. They work really well and are well respected among car enthusiasts.
r/AMG • Do any of you all use dash cams to help protect your car while parked? ->Came here to say viofo. It's the best out of everything I've tried. Once the blackvue dies that's getting switch out to a viofo dual channel. Also everyone should check out plugging the USB power to the powered rearview mirror adapter if theirs is powered instead of running cables along the headliner and door.
r/4Runner • Looking for Dashcam recommendations ->Viofo dual channel, no question.
r/Parenting • Recommendation request: dash cam for teen driver? ->It has repeatedly shown up as the top of pack across many reviews over many years. There are really only 2 or 3 sensors and boards for those cameras, so out of the ones with the best hardware it is the cheapest.
r/Parenting • Recommendation request: dash cam for teen driver? ->I have VIOFO front and rear cam, had it three years without any problems
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->For what it’s worth i have ZERO car experience and I got the viofo front and rear cam and used the donggar adapter to power it off the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror. I watched maybe 2 tutorials, went slow, and was able to get everything in place in well under an hour with no issues. The biggest hurdle was getting the wired connection from the front camera to the rear one so you could just skip the rear facing one for even less hassle. Highly recommend, super easy to do.
r/Lexus • Wireless dash cam ->Did research and ended up with a VIOFO two channel. Had it installed professionally.
r/askvan • What's the best dash cam you'd recommend based on these criterias? ->Viofo two channel setup. A little pricey but the video quality is pretty dang good
r/NoRulesCalgary • Dash cam recommendations ->Screw it looking oe. What you really want is a good camera. Viofo makes some of the better ones WITH a rear camera as well. After doing lots of research, lots of them use garbage cameras but the better ones use Sony. Specifically the Song Starvis. The Starvis 2 just recently came out and viofo made a new one with the 2. Good cam, doesn't look ugly. Supports parking recording and collision detection. [viofo Amazon ](https://a.co/d/izrOa1d)
r/mazda3 • Dash cam for current 3 models ->I have a VIOFO front and back cam. It records every time I take off or push the remote. I do t think they are crazy expensive and the quality it good
r/motorcycles • Good cameras that don’t break the bank? ->Yes, although I would go for any Viofo with the Sony Starvis sensor.
r/hondafit • Dash cam recommendations? ->Vantrue or VIOFO. They both use the Sony Starvis image sensor and have great quality. The cameras are pretty set and forget if you opt for the hardwire kit. It will turn on and off with the car and start recording as soon as it starts up. The included power adapter does the same thing if your power port in your car turns off with the ignition.
r/Parenting • Recommendation request: dash cam for teen driver? ->70Mai is good - I've one in the CX5, front and rear cameras - and bought direct from AliExpress - retailers here sell the same thing, just for more. Do the math. Also the Viofo seem to be getting traction well - pick anything with the Sony Starvis sensor really - they're good in day and great at night.
r/newzealand • Dash Cam Advice ->Yes, but I’d recommend a dashcam with higher resolution than 1080p. Preferably 2.5K* or 4K. I like Viofo.
r/Camry • Dash cam ->I have a couple viofo A-series, they're awesome. Wolfbox is also getting popular.
r/Challenger • Recommendation for dash cam? ->The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.
r/Polestar • Dash cam Recommendations ->Viofo from hachielectronics. It plugs from my fake engine noise so it doesn't have to take up usb space nor have to do any fuse voodoo.
r/subaru • Dash cam people please let me know what your using and why? ->For install, look up a video on how to install one and it tells you which fuse to tap. You’ll have to drill a hole on the silver frame of the dashboard to get a ground but overall it’s not hard to install. I recommend Vioflo or Nextbase.
r/Silverado • Dashcam ->GKU D700 - around $122 on Amazon after coupon. Have 3 of these in our household and they’ve been flawless (installed with the hardwire kit for an extra $25ish). App is great, decent size touchscreen, good quality front and rear video and capacitor based I believe. Had Viofos in the past which didn’t last more than 1-2 years, so thought I’d give these a try.
r/CarsAustralia • DASHCAM ON BUDGET ->I've owned several Viofos and I don't trust them anymore with their built in capacitors that died. I now have 70mai brand. Have the model A800S
r/Ioniq5 • Recommendations for a dash cam? ->I've owned a bunch of Viofos but have switched to 70mai for the Ioniq 5. But anyways, you should mount it on the plastic part with just the lens peeking enough to view the street. Or put it on the right side of the plastic housing. It's annoying having the dashcam visible in your eyeline.
r/Ioniq5 • Installed my dash cam today. Thought I would share info ->I've ran several viofos with no problems. Currently run a A119 V3. No problem easy install. Been running them for years. Usually if something is wrong, its the sd card.
r/ram_trucks • Any opinions on a good dash cam? ->Try watching Dashcmas Australia, take of the the crappy ones and the good footages. Most of the good ones I see consistently are Viofos.
r/CarsAustralia • Dashcam suggestions ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
