Running the VIOFO A139 pro 2 channel. It has been working great…caught many “dumb” drivers with both front and rear!
r/Tacomaworld • What dash cam yall running? ->A139 Pro 2Ch is fantastic. I had one, got my brother one, and will be buying another for my new car. It's expensive, but IMO the best out there image quality and installation wise. (this side of Blackvue which can have a SIM card + cloud storage) Take a look at my posts for sample video.
r/irelandsshitedrivers • Recommendations on Dashcams ->In 2015, I bought some shitty thing that I just looked up in my Amazon history. KDLinks it was called. It was a piece of crap and it fell off its mount and I ran it over in my driveway. After that, I spent like $500 on a Waylens via kickstarter. It was one of the first with OBDII connectivity. It was pretty slick and had awesome overlays on the video, but the mount was absolutely rubbish so the videos were all jittery and shitty. Then I bought a cheap VIOFO A119 and it just worked. So I bought an A129 Duo for my wife’s car. And another A129 Duo for my commuting car. And recently an A139 Pro 2ch for my new car. After 6 years on the oldest one, they are all still working flawlessly.
r/Dashcam • Dashcam you use ->I went with the A139 because it doesn’t have a screen. AFAIK, there’s no way to completely disable the screen on the A229.
r/Dashcam • is the a229 pro the best 2ch dashcam? ->I’ve had dashcams for like a decade now and hardly ever use the screen after the initial setup. I’ll admit the screen does help with checking the angle of the camera if you bump it while cleaning the windshield. Without a screen, you have to open the app to check. The screen is definitely not useful for seeing anything live. On the A139, I did the config with the phone. To get at videos, I pull the card and use a card adapter in my phone or computer.
r/Dashcam • is the a229 pro the best 2ch dashcam? ->I'm going with the Viofo A139 Pro Duo for my car. It's got a Starvis II sensor and seems to outperform most other cameras in the comparison videos. It is unobtrusive and doesn't have a screen. Many people don't realise that having a dashcam with the screen switched on can get them prosecuted under the same law that forbids having a TV within sight of the driver. When mounting a camera, put it inside the arc of the wipers, out of your line of sight so it has clean glass to look through and doesn't obstruct your vision. I've seen people with cameras and satnavs with them right in the middle of the windscreen. I was the victim of a rear-ending a couple of years ago by someone on their phone. I was in Southampton at the weekend and had 3 people pull out on me at roundabouts inside 15 minutes. I do think the standard of driving is getting worse and having a camera is becoming more necessary for my own protection.
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->I got the [Viofo A139 Pro 2-channel](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ6HH96P?th=1) (non-affiliate Amazon link) and hardwired it in my Civic. It's unobtrusive and records decent footage, and it has the latest image sensor from Sony for the front camera. I haven't had reason to pull footage yet, but it offers parking recording if you hardwire it with a kit to automatically cut power to it when the voltage drops below a certain level so as not to drain the battery. I used their [hardwire kit.](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TW9BBGB)
r/civic • Anyone have any good dashcam recommendations? ->VIOFO A139 Pro Dual Channel with Hachi Electronics ASC connector. I originally wired it to the cabin fuse box with fuse taps, but Hachi electronics is the cleaner install. My gripe with the A139 Pro is where the buttons are located. Pushing in them induces a prying motion on the 3M tape and causes it to peel. I frequently turn off the camera when parking at home to save battery as I have sufficient CCTV to cover. Also the camera slides onto the GPS module which is then 3M to the glass. On certain high g turns it’ll slide the dash cam out. I have a little piece of tape to prevent this.
r/GR86 • What dash cams does everybody use? ->My viofo A139 pro duo has parking mode. I have the hard wire kit to use it as a parking defense cam. But gotten lazy and haven’t done the hard wire. So only dash cam at the moment. I highly recommend the a139 as it’s been reliable for me. However if I didn’t have one, I’d get the A329 or a229 pro depending on budget. What ever you do. Get a sandisk MAX ENDURANCE 256GB micro SD. Those are rated for days cma use and warranties for it. Other ones are not and will corrupt with dash cam use and the heat
r/AMG • Do any of you all use dash cams to help protect your car while parked? ->I’m stuck on the 139 pro duo. One of these days I may upgrade. But for now they are working so I don’t want to land fill them
r/AMG • Do any of you all use dash cams to help protect your car while parked? ->That’s a massive budget. My fav is the viofo a339 https://a.co/d/hIhbHYB 469 with a 70$ coupon so even cheaper The black view DR970X https://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/blackvue-dr970x-2ch-plus-4k-uhd-cloud-dash-cam Both are top shelf and best of the best. I tend to favor viofo myself. Which ever you get use a [sandisk max endurance](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1547793-REG/sandisk_sdsqqvr_256g_an6ia_max_endurance_microsd_256gb.html) and register the warranty with WD which is the parent company I’m still using the A139 pro duo. Since mine just keeps on going and hasn’t died, there’s no reason for me to swap it out. I feel bad about throwing a perfectly good camera in the landfill. But if I happen to find $450, I would get the 339.
r/AMG • Do any of you all use dash cams to help protect your car while parked? ->Viofo A139 pro duo. The new A339 pro duo is super nice but pricy. Which ever you get 100% only use a sandisk max endurance 256GB micro SD card. Normal and performance SD cards for cameras will not be reliable in a dash camera. And absolutely get a front and rear facing. If your dash camera does not come with a polarized lens kit, buy it. [this is footage form my 139 pro duo](https://www.reddit.com/r/IdiotsInCars/s/7Ov3W4GNJh)
r/AMG • C43 Coupe dashcam? ->Viofo A139 pro duo. The new A339 pro duo is super nice but pricy. Which ever you get 100% only use a sandisk max endurance 256GB micro SD card. r/AMG • C43 Coupe dashcam? ->Viofo A329 front and rear facing. Combo with a sandisk max enduramce 256GB micro SD. Do not use a different microSD card. Dash cameras are very hard on the card and this one is meant specifically for this us usage and warranty for it. 369 on blackboxmycar I would suggest reformatting a.k.a. wiping the card every two months If you need a more value days cam. The A139 pro duo is 199 for front and rear facing. Front is 2k and rear 1080P. the sale price is viofo own website. I’d link them for you but subs frowns upon helpful links
r/Corvette • Dash Camera recommendations for C8 ->I recently purchased the viofo a139 cause I wanted front and rear. Very happy with it. Wired it into the fusebox myself with help from YouTube. https://viofo.com/dash-cam/208-a139-2ch-dual-channel-dash-cam-front-2k-1440p-rear-1080p-5ghz-wi-fi-gps-dash-camera.html
r/irelandsshitedrivers • Recommendations on Dashcams ->I have a VIOFO A139 dual channel and I wouldn't go with anything else when my kids start driving.
r/Costco • Is the Type S Dashcam worth the buy? ->+1 on this. Love my a139 pro with the hardwire parking mode kit
r/Costco • Anyone have the Atomi dash cam or done any research on it? ->I researched for months, if you want the newest chip and best picture quality cam it’s the Viofo A139 Pro. If you want a hidden cam get a Fitcamx which is hidden in a factory trim piece, I have this one.
r/AudiS4 • Dash cam recommendations ->https://hachielectronics.com/collections/22-brz-gr86 Just ordered a Viofo A139 pro from here. I love that I'll be able to plug it into the ASC module instead of the cigarette lighter, and Andrew is so helpful and great to deal with.
r/GR86 • Dash cam recommendations ->VIOFO A139 Pro. Try to get something with the STARVIS 2 sensor.
r/4Runner • Who’s got a dash cam and what you using? ->Viofo 139 pro. No pointless monitor to add bulk. Ultra slim RF cables that make it easy to run to the back. Parking cam of you want it. The latest Sony sensors. Yes, the software is a bit funky but who needs software on a dashcam.
r/FordBronco • Dash cam recommendations ->I’ve got the starvis2 equipped Viofo A139 pro. It’s awesome and only 220 for 1 channel
r/Civic_Type_R • RedTiger F4 4K Dashcam Review ->I bought one of these and the software was so janky I returned it.
r/Audi • Hey all, can I please get some DashCam recommendations? Thanks! ->I had the think ware f770 for 6 years, f800pro for 4 years and now lm onto Viofo for the second year. I think it's the 139pro..the one with the HDR. All cams were dual channel. Believe it or not, the brand, model and size of the microSD card matters for operations.
r/Dashcam • Why does literally every dash cam have negative reviews which state the camera fails after several weeks or months? ->i have a viofo a139 pro. it does not have a factory look like the fitcamx. however, i want the best resolution camera back there, and the dual ones out there, including fitcamx, all have 1080p res. the viofo is 4k, and it has a polarizing filter. i just used the acc port in the left side, and kinda stuffed the wire into the trim. i did pull the upper trim piece and used my dremel to remove some trim. the last 5 cars have all had front and rear cameras, and at least 3 times we got punted in the rear, not once in the front. one time some dumbass ran in to us at the wendys drive thru. who does that? another was when we were stopped at a red lite.
r/Ioniq5 • Any solid rear dash cam videos? ->Viofo A139 Pro with front, rear, and interior cams. I also run the hardwire kit and keep my car monitored when it's parked outside my workplace.
r/GR86 • What dash cams does everybody use? ->I got Viofo 139 pro The sony chip in it is really good at night time. The image of plate number and other details are so good.
r/CarsAustralia • What is everyone’s go to Dashcam in 2024 ->I have an A139 pro in my other car, but worry that it will block some view in the ev6 - do you have one mounted without blocking any view?
r/KiaEV6 • Recommendations for Dash Cam ->My Viofo A139 pro does not work on any of the cars USB-C connections tried many different cables none work, my phone charged fine from all those USB-C connections with all the tried cables. When I measure the power when my phone is connected it can only pull 7 Watt. Looking online it seems that a lot of people complain about this and skoda changed the power source in the MK4 facelift to produce more wattage. So I'm actually now looking to see if I can buy the upgrade USB-C people from the facelift model and replace it (if it fits that is).
r/skoda • USB-C port for Dash Camera ->I own both a Kia EV6 and an Ioniq 5. I purchased a Fitcamx (front and rear) for my Ioniq 5, but I encountered an issue with the adapter that connects to the rearview mirror—it never turned off. The company quickly sent me a replacement cable, which resolved the problem. Aside from that, the installation was very easy, and the picture quality was decent during the day. However, nighttime performance was not as good. For my EV6, I decided to go with the Viofo A139 Pro, and the picture quality is significantly better for both daytime and nighttime. The installation was also fairly straightforward since you can get an adapter to tap into the rearview mirror for power. However, I opted to use an external battery to enable parking mode. In conclusion, both cameras serve different purposes. If you prefer an OEM look and are okay with slightly lower image quality, the Fitcamx is a solid choice. However, if you want a better app experience and superior video quality, I recommend going with Viofo or BlackVue.
r/KiaEV6 • Dash Cam? ->I use a Viofo A139 Pro. Tesla cam is good since it records 4 angles including the rear, so I only got the single cam version of the A139. Sometimes the Tesla cam fails, such as with a firmware bug that myself and many other Tesla drivers are experiencing where the car falls to recognize the USB drive after waking up. Here are other reasons why I got an aftermarket camera. * Better front viewing angle (Tesla front camera is very narrow, it would be nice if they gave us an option of what front camera to use) * Better video quality * Audio recording * Longer recording time (Tesla only records one hour) * Redundancy, in case one camera failed to record an incident. The A139 specifically is a great camera, it's a bit pricey though. Best video quality for the price and it has a nice low profile design. The ability to connect to WiFi networks is awesome, so once I get home I can just get on my computer and copy dashcam videos over the network; Something I wish my Tesla could do!
r/TeslaLounge • Does anyone still use dashcam? If so, any recommendations? ->I have a VIOFO A139 pro. Can’t say anything bad about it. Insane camera quality all the time
r/Audi • Hey all, can I please get some DashCam recommendations? Thanks! ->I’m in Alberta. I have the VIOFO A139 Pro with front and rear cameras and it has worked fine in the cold weather.
r/f150 • Dash Camera ->The VIOFO I bought is probably not current anymore. I think any of the VIOFO models are pretty good. They aren’t cheap but I’ve had the cheap ones before and was always disappointed.
r/f150 • Dash Camera ->Viofo was high on my list until I got its A139. It's now an expensive paper weight.
r/Dashcam • Best reputable brand name dashcam ->Check out the brand VIOFO. In my own research, across all brands, I find them to offer the highest video quality at a mid level price. I own the 4k front and rear set and with the added on sun glare lens attachment. Never had an issue.
r/melbourne • Given the general level of sketchiness of Melbourne drivers, I don't think a dash cam is optional any more. ->I've just got the same one! I can't recommend it highly enough from a quality/price perspective. It has the latest Sony STARVIS 2 sensor and once installed, you can hardly tell it's there.
r/CarTalkUK • Aldi is selling dashcams for 20 quid ->I have VIOFO front and rear cam, had it three years without any problems
r/CarTalkUK • Dashcams ->For what it’s worth i have ZERO car experience and I got the viofo front and rear cam and used the donggar adapter to power it off the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror. I watched maybe 2 tutorials, went slow, and was able to get everything in place in well under an hour with no issues. The biggest hurdle was getting the wired connection from the front camera to the rear one so you could just skip the rear facing one for even less hassle. Highly recommend, super easy to do.
r/Lexus • Wireless dash cam ->I've had good luck with the viofo dash cams over the years. Some of the more expensive viofos have the Starvis 2 sensor, which does get a slightly better image (which might help if you are reading a license plate). Buy a really good high-endurance SD card, no matter what you buy And if you are ever in a collision, read the plate out loud so the mic can pick it up. Just in case the camera doesn't quite pick it up.
r/prius • Toyota Dash Cam... Or 3rd party? ->VIOFO front and back dashcam which also uses a super capacitor instead of a lithium ion battery! This especially good in hot environments like Texas or Arizona!
r/Camry • What brand Dashcam should I buy ->I use a Viofo 4K unit off of Amazon. Works great. Using a fuse tap kit I hardwired it to a fuse that's only hot when the truck is on, but it has a separate connection that's always hot and provides constant power. So when it senses that the truck is on it records consistently. When it senses that the truck is off it goes into a monitoring mode that will only record when there's motion detected or the gyro is triggered. It has a battery monitor that senses the battery's voltage and will disable monitoring mode if the battery voltage gets too low. Works perfectly. It has a rear camera too. Records to an SD card but has Wifi to beam video to your phone via their app if you want. Was in an accident a couple months ago and had the video footage on my phone before the cops even showed up. Saved my ass with the insurance.
r/f150 • Looking for recommendations on a dash cam ->Viofo 4k, love them and keep upgrading on all 3 cars in the fam
r/Subaru_Outback • Recommendation on Dash cams 2025 outback ->I have the two-channel version of this. No complaints, seems like a good unit. 2021 Silverado; still having a rough time finding an accessory fuse to switch it on and off automatically with the ignition.
r/Dashcam • Anyone have experience with this Viofo 3 channel dash cam? ->My exact setup as well.
r/radardetectors • Best radar detector with dash cam in 2024? ->I got two Pruveeos 9 years ago. One is still going, but the other died after 6 years. I got a 2 channel Viofo for my wife's car. The rear camera died at 13 months which stopped the front from recording. I figured out that the front worked fine if I unplugged the rear. They wanted me to pay $40 for a replacement rear cam though it was still in warranty. I just tossed it and switched to Garmin. I'm not saying to buy Pruveeo the video quality sucks, but they were only $37.
r/Dashcam • Overwhelmed with dashcam options. What should I get? ->I have the next step up from the one they tested and the Viofo is great, the 2 channel was easy to run, and I used a dongar pro, so power was super easy. https://preview.redd.it/fy856ri9mope1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=5afc3127ef5ff91ab75ebfce0f5e4b6e6f553df4
r/ToyotaTacoma • for those of you who have dashcams, what’s the best one that you’d recommend? ->I would recommend a viofo dashcam, I've out mine to the left side of the mirror and down just far enough to see under the black dot Matrix port. It's got a great view of the road and I can easily reach the incident button if needed. I've got the 2 channel one so the rest camera is in the middle of the back. There are several options from them but anything more than 2K on the front feels excessive.
r/civic • Where should you place the dash cam without blocking the front view? ->I have a 2 channel Viofo and it's really good. Viofo also has pretty regular sales too FYI. The GRC is really easy to run wires to the back and upper windshield with no wires showing too.
r/GRCorolla • Dash cam recommendations ->I use a VIOFO, whatever the newer dual channel cam is. I am going to hard wire it in the near future for parking protection. It hasn’t let me down yet and has really good quality. Just pricey and had an older model fail years ago so not too sure about longevity yet, only had it about a year.
r/ToyotaTacoma • Have any of you purchased the Toyota Integrated Dashcam? Is it good/reliable? I really want a dashcam and I am trying to narrow down which one to get. ->I have the Viofo dual channel. I hardwired it into the fuse panel. Works great so far.
r/Crosstrek • Dashcam? ->My viofo dual front and rear cam has withstood years. The cable for it has not. Just got a new cable and works perfectly. I vote viofo if you want a quality cam. Mine has the front and back and GPS data too
r/Dashcam • Why does literally every dash cam have negative reviews which state the camera fails after several weeks or months? ->Screw it looking oe. What you really want is a good camera. Viofo makes some of the better ones WITH a rear camera as well. After doing lots of research, lots of them use garbage cameras but the better ones use Sony. Specifically the Song Starvis. The Starvis 2 just recently came out and viofo made a new one with the 2. Good cam, doesn't look ugly. Supports parking recording and collision detection. [viofo Amazon ](https://a.co/d/izrOa1d)
r/mazda3 • Dash cam for current 3 models ->Screw it looking oe. What you really want is a good camera. Viofo makes some of the better ones WITH a rear camera as well. After doing lots of research, lots of them use garbage cameras but the better ones use Sony. Specifically the Song Starvis. The Starvis 2 just recently came out and viofo made a new one with the 2. r/mazda3 • Dash cam for current 3 models ->Just when I think I have a good answer, someone comes up with a better answer. The hardwire kit looks great, definitely going to get that for my viofo. For others that are shopping, the starvis 2 sensor this has is great. I have both the older and newer viofo units, and the starvis 2 definitely makes a difference compared to the previous gen.
r/GR86 • What dash cams does everybody use? ->For dashcam, i would recommend either Viofo or Ventrue. Make sure you get the ones with Sony Starvis2 sensor so you can capture the license plate numbers. Hot wire kit is a must of you want constant power and a clean installation
r/crv • Dashcam and weather mats recommendation for 2025 crv ->For dashcam, i would recommend either Viofo or Ventrue. Make sure you get the ones with Sony Starvis2 sensor so you can capture the license plate numbers. Hot wire kit is a must of you want constant power and a clean installation
r/crv • Dashcam and weather mats recommendation for 2025 crv ->Also a fan of Viofo. Been working great since I installed it just over a year ago. I got it because of the Starvis 2 sensor which gives improved clarity in the dark. If anyone is driving at night I highly recommend any dashcam with a Starvis 2 sensor.
r/rav4prime • Dash & rear camera recommendations ->What's the budget? What features do you need(parking mode, cloud connection, etc)? Stick with name brands though. Viofo for good budget option. Blackvue or Thinkware for premium options
r/Subaru_Outback • Dash cam recommendations? ->Around $100, get Viofo. Unless you get a good sale, you're looking at front only and not a front/rear. Look for one with the Starvis 2 sensor, it's a big improvement over the original one
r/Subaru_Outback • Dash cam recommendations? ->The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.
r/Polestar • Dash cam Recommendations ->I've owned several Viofos and I don't trust them anymore with their built in capacitors that died. I now have 70mai brand. Have the model A800S
r/Ioniq5 • Recommendations for a dash cam? ->I've ran several viofos with no problems. Currently run a A119 V3. No problem easy install. Been running them for years. Usually if something is wrong, its the sd card.
r/ram_trucks • Any opinions on a good dash cam? ->
