VIOFO - A139 Pro 2CH

VIOFO A139 Pro (front and rear) 4K can be found for low $300s on sale. Works well in mine and has decent audio. Can be hardwired to battery or external battery for recording while parked for extended period of time with a voltage cutoff to save your battery.

My viofo A139 pro duo has parking mode. I have the hard wire kit to use it as a parking defense cam. But gotten lazy and haven’t done the hard wire. So only dash cam at the moment. I highly recommend the a139 as it’s been reliable for me. However if I didn’t have one, I’d get the A329 or a229 pro depending on budget. What ever you do. Get a sandisk MAX ENDURANCE 256GB micro SD. Those are rated for days cma use and warranties for it. Other ones are not and will corrupt with dash cam use and the heat

Since mine just keeps on going and hasn’t died, there’s no reason for me to swap it out. I feel bad about throwing a perfectly good camera in the landfill. But if I happen to find $450, I would get the 339.

Viofo A329 front and rear facing. Combo with a sandisk max enduramce 256GB micro SD. Do not use a different microSD card. Dash cameras are very hard on the card and this one is meant specifically for this us usage and warranty for it. 369 on blackboxmycar I would suggest reformatting a.k.a. wiping the card every two months If you need a more value days cam. Ik heb vele dashcams getest, ook omdat ik met dezelfde eisen zat. Ik wilde een goede kwaliteit dashcam, goed nachtzicht en voornamelijk een goede parkeermodus. Na onderzoek kwam ik er achter dat in principe élke dashcam dezelfde sensor gebruikt. Ik kon dat eerst niet geloven, maar het is echt zo. Tegenwoordig heb je de Sony Starvis 2 sensor, dit is de verbeterde versie van de vorige sensor. Ik ben uiteindelijk uitgekomen bij de Viofo A139 Pro 2 channel. Het heeft een heel goede parkeermodus met veel instellingen. Wat ook erg van belang is bij dit model is dat ook de achtercamera een bewegingssensor heeft. Veel dashcams hebben alleen aan de voorzijde een sensor, waardoor hij niet automatisch opneemt bij beweging aan de achterzijde. Daarnaast is het van belang dat je dashcam een ‘buffered’ parkeermodus heeft. Dat houdt in dat hij snel inschakelt bij beweging, maar ook de 15/20 sec daarvoor nog opneemt. Ik weet dat de Viofo boven je genoemde budget ligt, maar geloof me, van Nordval tot BlackVue, ik heb echt alles getest voornamelijk voor de uitgebreide parkeermodus. Ik denk oprecht dat die 100€ extra je precies geeft waar jij naar zoekt. Wel van belang dat je kennis hebt / vrienden hebt die weten hoe je hem moet installeren. Een goede parkeermodus werkt eigenlijk alleen als je hem ‘hardwired’. Dat wil zeggen, aansluiten op je zekeringkast. Dat klinkt wellicht wat lastig, maar is echt heel goed zelf te doen. In die tijd kocht ik hem inderdaad ook, toen het een van de eerste met de Starvis 2 sensor was. Een Starvis 3 sensor bestaat nog niet, dus alle andere modellen met de 2 sensor zullen alleen afwijken in opties voor instellingen / mogelijkheden. Daar komt de Viofo nog steeds erg goed uit de test.

I'm going with the Viofo A139 Pro Duo for my car. It's got a Starvis II sensor and seems to outperform most other cameras in the comparison videos. It is unobtrusive and doesn't have a screen. Many people don't realise that having a dashcam with the screen switched on can get them prosecuted under the same law that forbids having a TV within sight of the driver. When mounting a camera, put it inside the arc of the wipers, out of your line of sight so it has clean glass to look through and doesn't obstruct your vision. I've seen people with cameras and satnavs with them right in the middle of the windscreen. I was the victim of a rear-ending a couple of years ago by someone on their phone. I was in Southampton at the weekend and had 3 people pull out on me at roundabouts inside 15 minutes. I do think the standard of driving is getting worse and having a camera is becoming more necessary for my own protection.

I really like the look of the Viofo A139 Pro. 4k, excellent image quality, dual camera. It records in an SD card, in the camera. You connect to its built in WiFi to retrieve the footage. It does not need WiFi or cell coverage to function

Viofo A139 Pro 2CH. never had any issues with it. great app connectivity, and has settings for parking mode if you hardwired it (which i haven't yet). highly recommend if youre looking for a good quality 2 channel cam

VIOFO A139 Pro Dual Channel with Hachi Electronics ASC connector. I originally wired it to the cabin fuse box with fuse taps, but Hachi electronics is the cleaner install. My gripe with the A139 Pro is where the buttons are located. Pushing in them induces a prying motion on the 3M tape and causes it to peel. I frequently turn off the camera when parking at home to save battery as I have sufficient CCTV to cover. Also the camera slides onto the GPS module which is then 3M to the glass. On certain high g turns it’ll slide the dash cam out. I have a little piece of tape to prevent this.

I use the Viofo A139 2 channel for all of my cars and never had an issue with it besides the one time I bent the coaxial cable running to the rear camera disconnecting it. Tiny unit but captures very well.

I use Viofo (specifically the A139 Pro but there are other options) and it's great. I have mine plugged into an external battery pack because I don't want to hardwire it. There's actually tons of good options now, dashcam technology has come a long way in recent years and there are some great quality cameras. There's also r/Dashcam for sample videos.

I’ve had the VIOFO 139 Pro front and rear for a couple of years now and it’s been flawless. Easy to connect to it with the phone app and view or download clips. Has parking mode if you hardwire it with movement sensor and G-sensor plus time lapse recording.

Most dashcam enthusiasts recommend Viofo and Thinkware with the STARVIS2 sensor for the dash cam of choice. You may have to look into BlackVue for push notifications, as they have some cloud services. I personally run a Viofo A139 Pro hardwired into a Powercell 8 external battery that is hardwired into driver side fusebox for parking mode. The setup is about $500-600.

Viofo or Thinkware, and any dashcam equipped with the Starvis2 sensor, are the go-to for dash cam enthusiasts when it comes to picture quality and license plate reading. The most optimal parking mode setup, but most pricey, is a 2/3ch dash cam hardwired into an external LiFePo4 battery that is then hardwired to driver/passenger fuse box. This setup will provide parking mode and reduce the wear and tear on your 12v battery. If parking mode isn't something you need, you can just to the 12v accessory socket for normal driving dash cam use. I used Viofo A139 Pro and have installed Viofo A229 Pro on family's car.

Bear in mind the A119 would never be able to capture the plate if it’s not day time+ stationary, if it’s a hit and run guaranteed would not be captured, I went through thinkware x1000, A139 Pro( actually gd video quality no problem capturing plates on speed, but the 139 has a known cable issue that the rear camera might disconnect occasionally, switched to the newest a329s, cable issue is gone)

Another vote for Viofo - but the A139 Pro, and definitely get both front and rear. A cyclist hit me (yes, they literally cycled into my stationary, parked car), and it paid for itself in one insurance claim. I liked the fact it didn’t have a screen, which makes it much smaller and hide behind my rear vision mirror. I don’t even see it when driving. Mine is hardwired into my car battery, so it records when I’m parked and away from my car too, so I’m never worried about someone doing a hit and run when I’m parked on some crappy narrow Auckland street.

i have a viofo a139 pro. it does not have a factory look like the fitcamx. however, i want the best resolution camera back there, and the dual ones out there, including fitcamx, all have 1080p res. the viofo is 4k, and it has a polarizing filter. i just used the acc port in the left side, and kinda stuffed the wire into the trim. i did pull the upper trim piece and used my dremel to remove some trim. the last 5 cars have all had front and rear cameras, and at least 3 times we got punted in the rear, not once in the front. one time some dumbass ran in to us at the wendys drive thru. who does that? another was when we were stopped at a red lite.

I got Viofo 139 pro The sony chip in it is really good at night time. The image of plate number and other details are so good.

Not too familiar with the new models but I’ve had a VIOFO a139 pro (I believe this model is discontinued) for almost 2 years now and it’s been near perfect. It did fail on me a week before the warranty expired but they handled it well and sent me out a new one no questions asked once they confirmed no troubleshooting could solve it.

Viofo A139 Pro, have had this particular unit installed in two cars now and its been perfect. Plus Viofo support was decently good with getting me a replacement when it died two weeks before warranty expired. Viofo makes better models but I wanted one without a screen, though I may upgrade to a nicer one at some point. I have a A139 pro in mine that i installed afew months ago when I got my CX50, tapped into the dimming mirror for power using that T harness you can get online and have had no issues with it. I know people with other Mazda's that have had their dashcams hardwired with no issues as well.

I have an A139 pro in my other car, but worry that it will block some view in the ev6 - do you have one mounted without blocking any view?

My Viofo A139 pro does not work on any of the cars USB-C connections tried many different cables none work, my phone charged fine from all those USB-C connections with all the tried cables. When I measure the power when my phone is connected it can only pull 7 Watt. Looking online it seems that a lot of people complain about this and skoda changed the power source in the MK4 facelift to produce more wattage. So I'm actually now looking to see if I can buy the upgrade USB-C people from the facelift model and replace it (if it fits that is).

I own both a Kia EV6 and an Ioniq 5. I purchased a Fitcamx (front and rear) for my Ioniq 5, but I encountered an issue with the adapter that connects to the rearview mirror—it never turned off. The company quickly sent me a replacement cable, which resolved the problem. Aside from that, the installation was very easy, and the picture quality was decent during the day. However, nighttime performance was not as good. For my EV6, I decided to go with the Viofo A139 Pro, and the picture quality is significantly better for both daytime and nighttime. The installation was also fairly straightforward since you can get an adapter to tap into the rearview mirror for power. However, I opted to use an external battery to enable parking mode. In conclusion, both cameras serve different purposes. If you prefer an OEM look and are okay with slightly lower image quality, the Fitcamx is a solid choice. However, if you want a better app experience and superior video quality, I recommend going with Viofo or BlackVue.

\+1 to this as well, why I got the Viofo A139. At the time one of the first with the Starvis 2, but now there are a few.

I have Viofo A139 pro cameras. 2 are in a cars with front tint, one in a car without front protection. All are working well. These do not have caps but I have aux. battery backup (BlackBoxMyCar) for when the car is off and the cameras are in parking mode.

VIOFO 139 pro. It’s great. I have interior as well so they can’t say I was doing something I wasn’t.

I have the VIOFO A139 PRO, no complaints on it at all, Great camera overall. I also have it hardwired for parking mode when I’m away. Has a regulator you can set for voltage cutoff so it doesn’t drain battery, however use some fuse taps, in the fuse box under the steering wheel. I did red wire to 20A Socket, Yellow Wire went to 10A Meter/Battery. Easy set up, you can find a decent amount of videos explaining online as well.

Another vote for Viofo. Installed the Viofo A139 Pro front and back in my Cayman and can vouch for the image quality. They were the only dashcam at the time that had the Starvis 2 image sensor (which I’m familiar with from working with security cameras), so the image quality at night is also bright and crisp without either lots of night time motion blur or dingy image you would associate with lots of other cameras. I used fuse taps to the footwell fusebox so it’s 100% reversible if I wanted to change/remove it. I need another dash cam for my daily so I’m going to pick another Viofo up when I see them on sale.

I had a similar issue with the A139 Pro. At first It seemed like normal overheating, having the AC on all the time helped for a while. After 6 months it began rebooting non stop even in cold mornings. Updated firmware, tested with and without gps mount. Using the cigarrete charger adapter worked fine, so I thought it was a power issue. Then I noticed the power cable was hot, not burning hot but still. I Changed the cable with a different one with fast charge and it has been rock solid for 2 weeks even in hot days. So I'd say check your wiring, if the SD card is fine and the camera itself does not get too hot, it might be an issue with wiring and /or power.

It was watching DCOA videos and paying attention to the brand watermarks what made me pick my Viofo A139. Image quality is great day and night, picture is clear and sharp without feeling over sharpened. Hardwiring was pretty simple too. Fantastic insurance, worth every cent.

Same here Viofo A139. most of the time it works but in the summer its a throw of the dice.

I've had Viofo A139's in my cars for 4 years now, they still work flawlessly even after enduring a couple of Texas summers parked outside. Great build quality on them. 

They also have the A139 model, same starvis 2 sensor but it doesn't come with a screen so it's even less of a footprint. Can't say I've ever used my dashcams screen for much. I generally turn on the wifi and check from my phone app.

Iv had viofo a229 last years no problem but my viofo a139 exploded last summer and i get sent a replacement

Get viofo or f77. Both have dual 4k with starvis 2. If you are thinking to get other sensor based 4k for rear it will be pointless as rear cam gets way higher glare frm hi beams at night that only a starvis 2 sensor can handle to show numberplates better. 2 cams mean two wires, two fuse points and getting footage will be a hassle. If there is any issue in rear cam you may not even realise soon as indicator lights wont be easily visible.

I have the viofo 2 for the last 2 years and it’s working fine. Wiring is not too hard and you can’t see any cable

Check out the brand VIOFO. In my own research, across all brands, I find them to offer the highest video quality at a mid level price. I own the 4k front and rear set and with the added on sun glare lens attachment. Never had an issue.

As an insurance agent, I think EVERYONE should have a dashcam. Preferably one with front and rear facing cameras. There are some great 4k cameras out there with Bluetooth capabilities. Viofo has some great cameras that get amazing reviews, but they are expensive. For more budget conscious individuals REDTIGER F7NP is a great option as well that has wireless, but it’s not Bluetooth. We have them installed on all of our vehicles.

Most important thing when it comes to dashcams is image quality, particularly at night. The fitcam sucks Get a viofo or some other high quality, true 4k hdr cam instead. You can get a mirror connector adapter for power.

Second the VIOFO pro suggestion. I bought off amazon and paid Best Buy to install

Viofo is what I run, you basically want a camera with the Starvis2 sensor and ideally the 4k version.

VIOFO is a really popular brand. The front-rear one I installed in my cars have caught some interesting parked moments. The cameras look like TEMU junk but they are not. They work really well and are well respected among car enthusiasts.

When you hardwire it for parking mode there is a hardwire kit that'll automatically cut off power if the battery goes below a set voltage In any case these cameras should not take more than a few hundred milliamps when operational. 5amp can run like 4 of these camera

Did research and ended up with a VIOFO two channel. Had it installed professionally.

Came here to say viofo. It's the best out of everything I've tried. Once the blackvue dies that's getting switch out to a viofo dual channel. Also everyone should check out plugging the USB power to the powered rearview mirror adapter if theirs is powered instead of running cables along the headliner and door.

I have a VIOFO front and back cam. It records every time I take off or push the remote. I do t think they are crazy expensive and the quality it good

Also a fan of Viofo. Been working great since I installed it just over a year ago. I got it because of the Starvis 2 sensor which gives improved clarity in the dark. If anyone is driving at night I highly recommend any dashcam with a Starvis 2 sensor.

I've had good luck with the viofo dash cams over the years. Some of the more expensive viofos have the Starvis 2 sensor, which does get a slightly better image (which might help if you are reading a license plate). Buy a really good high-endurance SD card, no matter what you buy And if you are ever in a collision, read the plate out loud so the mic can pick it up. Just in case the camera doesn't quite pick it up.

VIOFO. Whatever brand get one utilizing Starvis 2 sensor and that has HDR. Seen alot of recommendations for Dongar adapter for clean install into mirror.

Just when I think I have a good answer, someone comes up with a better answer. The hardwire kit looks great, definitely going to get that for my viofo. For others that are shopping, the starvis 2 sensor this has is great. I have both the older and newer viofo units, and the starvis 2 definitely makes a difference compared to the previous gen.

Looked into the Fitcam and VIOFO. The sample footage Fitcam support sent wasn't promising, so I went with the newer VIOFO using Starvis 2 image sensors. Doesn't really distract me but I do occasionally get questions from passengers. Also feel like having an obvious dashcam as a deterrent for reverse-into-you insurance scammers could be a plus. Overall happy, do wish it could do 1440p60+HDR in both front and back simultaneously though.

VIOFO, and make sure it says "STARVIS 2" sensor. Not "STARVIS", but "STARVIS 2". Also get the VIOFO branded Industrial Grade SD Card. VIOFO Industrial and Sandisk MAX Endurance are the only two SD cards recommended by VIOFO. Other cards have potential of file corruption after extended use.

Watch some of those Dashcams compilations on YouTube to get an idea between cheap vs good, you'll notice the difference in quality between clips. It comes down to sensor quality and key features. IMO Viofo are excellent for the price. Sony Starvis 2 sensor, parking mode, wifi and app.... actually these are the only functions I really use.

Vantrue or VIOFO. They both use the Sony Starvis image sensor and have great quality. The cameras are pretty set and forget if you opt for the hardwire kit. It will turn on and off with the car and start recording as soon as it starts up. The included power adapter does the same thing if your power port in your car turns off with the ignition.

70Mai is good - I've one in the CX5, front and rear cameras - and bought direct from AliExpress - retailers here sell the same thing, just for more. Do the math. Also the Viofo seem to be getting traction well - pick anything with the Sony Starvis sensor really - they're good in day and great at night.

Yes, but I’d recommend a dashcam with higher resolution than 1080p. Preferably 2.5K* or 4K. I like Viofo.

I have a couple viofo A-series, they're awesome. Wolfbox is also getting popular.

The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.

Viofo from hachielectronics. It plugs from my fake engine noise so it doesn't have to take up usb space nor have to do any fuse voodoo.

For install, look up a video on how to install one and it tells you which fuse to tap. You’ll have to drill a hole on the silver frame of the dashboard to get a ground but overall it’s not hard to install. I recommend Vioflo or Nextbase.

GKU D700 - around $122 on Amazon after coupon. Have 3 of these in our household and they’ve been flawless (installed with the hardwire kit for an extra $25ish). App is great, decent size touchscreen, good quality front and rear video and capacitor based I believe. Had Viofos in the past which didn’t last more than 1-2 years, so thought I’d give these a try.

I've owned several Viofos and I don't trust them anymore with their built in capacitors that died. I now have 70mai brand. Have the model A800S

I've owned a bunch of Viofos but have switched to 70mai for the Ioniq 5. But anyways, you should mount it on the plastic part with just the lens peeking enough to view the street. Or put it on the right side of the plastic housing. It's annoying having the dashcam visible in your eyeline.

I've ran several viofos with no problems. Currently run a A119 V3. No problem easy install. Been running them for years. Usually if something is wrong, its the sd card.

Try watching Dashcmas Australia, take of the the crappy ones and the good footages. Most of the good ones I see consistently are Viofos.
