"My Viofo A139 pro does not work on any of the cars USB-C connections tried many different cables none work ... my phone charged fine from all those USB-C connections with all the tried cables. ... When I measure the power when my phone is connected it can only pull 7 Watt."
I got two Pruveeos 9 years ago. One is still going, but the other died after 6 years. I got a 2 channel Viofo for my wife's car. The rear camera died at 13 months which stopped the front from recording. I figured out that the front worked fine if I unplugged the rear. They wanted me to pay $40 for a replacement rear cam though it was still in warranty. I just tossed it and switched to Garmin. I'm not saying to buy Pruveeo the video quality sucks, but they were only $37.
r/Dashcam • Overwhelmed with dashcam options. What should I get? ->I use the Viofo A139 2 channel for all of my cars and never had an issue with it besides the one time I bent the coaxial cable running to the rear camera disconnecting it. Tiny unit but captures very well.
r/Subaru_Outback • Dash cam set-up and models ->I use Viofo (specifically the A139 Pro but there are other options) and it's great. I have mine plugged into an external battery pack because I don't want to hardwire it. There's actually tons of good options now, dashcam technology has come a long way in recent years and there are some great quality cameras. There's also r/Dashcam for sample videos.

Image quality is great day and night, picture is clear and sharp without feeling over sharpened. Hardwiring was pretty simple too. Fantastic insurance, worth every cent.

Easy to connect to it with the phone app and view or download clips. Has parking mode if you hardwire it with movement sensor and G-sensor plus time lapse recording.

You may have to look into BlackVue for push notifications, as they have some cloud services. I personally run a Viofo A139 Pro hardwired into a Powercell 8 external battery that is hardwired into driver side fusebox for parking mode. The setup is about $500-600.

The most optimal parking mode setup, but most pricey, is a 2/3ch dash cam hardwired into an external LiFePo4 battery that is then hardwired to driver/passenger fuse box. This setup will provide parking mode and reduce the wear and tear on your 12v battery. If parking mode isn't something you need, you can just to the 12v accessory socket for normal driving dash cam use. I used Viofo A139 Pro and have installed Viofo A229 Pro on family's car.
r/Toyota • Toyota Dash Cams Recommendations ->Coming from a Viofo A139 Pro 2CH, here are my thoughts. The BlackVue software is much more user friendly compared to the Viofo software. I do prefer the video I get from the Viofo though. Viofo is able to utilize HDR and you aren't locked to 1 minute recordings. On top of that, the video sometimes look grainy on the blackvue. With the blackvue though, I also have a blackvue external battery that integrates well in the app. I also changed from a Viofo because it stopped working after a year of use. EDIT: I guess I am satisfied, but do wish there were some improvements on the blackvue model.
