"Using a fuse tap kit I hardwired it to a fuse that's only hot when the truck is on, but it has a separate connection that's always hot and provides constant power. So when it senses that the truck is on it records consistently. When it senses that the truck is off it goes into a monitoring mode that will only record when there's motion detected or the gyro is triggered. ... I researched for months, if you want the newest chip and best picture quality cam it’s the Viofo A139 Pro. If you want a hidden cam get a Fitcamx which is hidden in a factory trim piece, I have this one.

r/FordBronco • Dash cam recommendations ->i have a viofo a139 pro. it does not have a factory look like the fitcamx. however, i want the best resolution camera back there, and the dual ones out there, including fitcamx, all have 1080p res. the viofo is 4k, and it has a polarizing filter. i just used the acc port in the left side, and kinda stuffed the wire into the trim. i did pull the upper trim piece and used my dremel to remove some trim. the last 5 cars have all had front and rear cameras, and at least 3 times we got punted in the rear, not once in the front. one time some dumbass ran in to us at the wendys drive thru. who does that? another was when we were stopped at a red lite.

When I measure the power when my phone is connected it can only pull 7 Watt. Looking online it seems that a lot of people complain about this and skoda changed the power source in the MK4 facelift to produce more wattage. So I'm actually now looking to see if I can buy the upgrade USB-C people from the facelift model and replace it (if it fits that is).

I purchased a Fitcamx (front and rear) for my Ioniq 5, but I encountered an issue with the adapter that connects to the rearview mirror—it never turned off. The company quickly sent me a replacement cable, which resolved the problem. Aside from that, the installation was very easy, and the picture quality was decent during the day. However, nighttime performance was not as good. For my EV6, I decided to go with the Viofo A139 Pro, and the picture quality is significantly better for both daytime and nighttime. The installation was also fairly straightforward since you can get an adapter to tap into the rearview mirror for power. However, I opted to use an external battery to enable parking mode. In conclusion, both cameras serve different purposes. If you prefer an OEM look and are okay with slightly lower image quality, the Fitcamx is a solid choice. However, if you want a better app experience and superior video quality, I recommend going with Viofo or BlackVue.

r/f150 • Dash Camera ->The VIOFO I bought is probably not current anymore. I think any of the VIOFO models are pretty good. They aren’t cheap but I’ve had the cheap ones before and was always disappointed.
r/f150 • Dash Camera ->As an insurance agent, I think EVERYONE should have a dashcam. Preferably one with front and rear facing cameras. There are some great 4k cameras out there with Bluetooth capabilities. Viofo has some great cameras that get amazing reviews, but they are expensive. For more budget conscious individuals REDTIGER F7NP is a great option as well that has wireless, but it’s not Bluetooth. We have them installed on all of our vehicles.

r/Subaru_Outback • Recommendation on Dash cams 2025 outback ->I got two Pruveeos 9 years ago. One is still going, but the other died after 6 years. I got a 2 channel Viofo for my wife's car. The rear camera died at 13 months which stopped the front from recording. I figured out that the front worked fine if I unplugged the rear. They wanted me to pay $40 for a replacement rear cam though it was still in warranty. I just tossed it and switched to Garmin. I'm not saying to buy Pruveeo the video quality sucks, but they were only $37.

r/ToyotaTacoma • for those of you who have dashcams, what’s the best one that you’d recommend? ->I would recommend a viofo dashcam, I've out mine to the left side of the mirror and down just far enough to see under the black dot Matrix port. It's got a great view of the road and I can easily reach the incident button if needed. I've got the 2 channel one so the rest camera is in the middle of the back. There are several options from them but anything more than 2K on the front feels excessive.
