"We have traveled to 3 countries with it, set it up on taxis etc."

"Super easy. ... Took about 20-30 minutes"

"sets up in under 3 min including stake out time. ... Take down is just as fast and it fits in its storage bag with out much fuss. ... set up in under 90 seconds 120 if you putting in stakes."

"the 8:7 aspect ratio and 5.3k. That gives me much more freedom when reframing shots."

"Nice crisp clear 4K especially if you keep your streams and upload them to YT later."

"You're not going to get much better quality than BlackVue 700 models."

"if you decide to get the N5, pay for the Vantrue branded SD card. It’s certified to handle the speeds necessary to record 4 video streams at once. When I first got this dashcam, I tried several other high speed name brand cards (Samsung, SanDisk, etc), and they all had issues."

"Basically a set it up and leave it situation. Since our 12v plug ins are keyed to power we never have to touch it"

"I have these in 2 vehicles, and one has been installed for almost 3 years. No issues whatsoever."

"the white one is on sale on Amazon for about $350 which is a steal"

"I'm on my second one in 7 years"

"I would say that the investment was more than worthwhile."

"Me too. And I use Apple Airpods. $$$$$"

"$179 is pretty nuts. ... As long as people keep buying them and paying the esports tax, they're gonna keep selling them at this crazy price. ... The G305 feels really similar, but at 1/3 the price. ... I don't truely understand why the G pro light is all the rage. ... I used a G pro for a week, and while it did feel very smooth and responsive, I also had a G305 that felt very similar."

"overpriced and don't ever prove the price difference in sound over the az100."

"My Eufy X8 died a death"

"99% of first gen and second gen eventually become faulty after 1 year. ... I had 4 Mila, they all died the same way, replacement had the same fate, I gave up and threw all 4 of them away."

""NeverChange" with "up to 5 years use" is purely a marketing gimmick. ... [The owner's manual for the HP150 series] states this is "based on 50% CADR declined, 135 sq. ft. cleaning area and 12 hours daily operation on MAX fan speed." ... [The infographic on the model HP152 product page] is different, claiming the cleaning area is "300 sq. ft." ... Either way, that's much smaller than the 650 sq. ft. rating. ... And obviously any mechanical filter's lifespan depends on pollutant concentrations."

I got two Pruveeos 9 years ago. One is still going, but the other died after 6 years. I got a 2 channel Viofo for my wife's car. The rear camera died at 13 months which stopped the front from recording. I figured out that the front worked fine if I unplugged the rear. They wanted me to pay $40 for a replacement rear cam though it was still in warranty. I just tossed it and switched to Garmin. I'm not saying to buy Pruveeo the video quality sucks, but they were only $37.

At the time it was.  These cams are about 10 years old and as I recall they were about $90 each.  There were dual camera systems on the market at the time but they were $300/400 (like Blackvue).  I figured that if one failed, I’d still have the other fully functional.  I recently bought a dual camera system (Viofo again) for my wife’s car and it ran almost $300.

The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.

Those 3w liners are great! Rocking a Viofo 2 channel cam as well. Good recs!

I have the next step up from the one they tested and the Viofo is great, the 2 channel was easy to run, and I used a dongar pro, so power was super easy. https://preview.redd.it/fy856ri9mope1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=5afc3127ef5ff91ab75ebfce0f5e4b6e6f553df4

Viofo from hachielectronics. It plugs from my fake engine noise so it doesn't have to take up usb space nor have to do any fuse voodoo.

r/subaru • Dash cam people please let me know what your using and why? ->

Yep, for both my CX5 and 3. The Viofos work well, while they still work. I find after 2 years they quit on me. Might be my climate. Moved to the Garmin ones and I don't like how they work as much, but they last 🤷‍♂️
