MT1

Not sure if still looking but have had trouble with Viofo MT1. Same reasoning, insurance protection, dual cams for minimalist install, hard wired for ease of get on and go, looped vid with app to pull vids. Recently stopped working and bought a second with same issue, don’t recommend.

I use hardwired F&R camera systems on my big bikes. Discreet, automatic, fit & forget etc. Video quality far below GoPro etc, but plenty good enough for insurance & liability. Have used Innov in the past, they were pretty good. Currently using Viofo MT1 and happy with them.

I prefer the latest VIOFO dash cams. And if the latest model is outside your budget look at the 2k or 1080p versions.

I have a viofo dual channel dash cam. There’s a video by Linus tech tips that shows that most dash cams are almost identical

'21 Limited. Mine is high up on the windshield by the driver's side A pillar. Viofo dual channel, ran the wires under the weather strip and didn't have to pull any interior panels. Powered from the USB port in the armrest.

Dual channel Viofo plus installation , you’re looking at $500 maybe. Top of the line BlackVue plus battery, you’re looking at $1000 to $1500 so the price you were quoted is ridiculous

Came here to say viofo. It's the best out of everything I've tried. Once the blackvue dies that's getting switch out to a viofo dual channel. Also everyone should check out plugging the USB power to the powered rearview mirror adapter if theirs is powered instead of running cables along the headliner and door.

Viofo dual channel, no question. 

It has repeatedly shown up as the top of pack across many reviews over many years. There are really only 2 or 3 sensors and boards for those cameras, so out of the ones with the best hardware it is the cheapest. 

I use a viofo front and rear camera combo. Can't remember the model name.
