I had the viofo VS1 on my previous car Honda Accord. I upgraded to an SUV recently. I am planning to get an upgrade on the camera as well.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • VIOFO Dash Cam Giveaway + Sneak Peek at the New A329S Series ->Great. Would love to win. I have the vs1 hardwired. Love the small size
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • VIOFO Dash Cam Giveaway + Sneak Peek at the New A329S Series ->Best advise. UAE is very hot; a super capacitor-based dashcam is always a good idea. I'm using Viofo VS1 and I'm happy with it. Small and very stealthy, but with good quality videos.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Dash cam recommendations ->Been working great for like a year or more so I think I’m good.
r/wrx_vb • Which DashCam you guys using? ->VIOFO VS1 as tiny as it gets very lightweight, but good quality
r/Dashcam • New dashcam ->I have VIOFO VS1. I like the way it sits on my windscreen- very minimal and does its work. The main thing I realized after installing the dash cam is I can focus more on the road without worrying about how other people drive on the road. I don’t know if this can be any better, but I’m very much satisfied with the product. Thanks team.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • VIOFO Dash Cam Giveaway + Sneak Peek at the New A329S Series ->I got the VS1 for 500 from the official brand HERE on this subreddit! They gave me a free filter with it too which was like 100 dhs alone lol The camera is amazing, had it for a year now, never failed me and very easy to setup and use. Highly recommend. Edit: u/ViofoUAE is the username
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Is Viofo Dashcam worth? ->VIOFO VS1 Mini Dash Cam, 1440P/2K... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQV29RLB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Also got the lense for better clarity. I used the usb-c port and got a longer wire for it
r/Crosstrek • Dash cam recommendations 24’ ->I have this one and it works great!! I bought a much larger card for it though - get the one with the lense add-on for clearer nightime recording [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQV29RLB/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQV29RLB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
r/Crosstrek • Recommendations for Dashcam under $100 please ->I just installed a Viofo VS1 in my new car. It is a single–channel dash cam and is extremely discreet. It uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery, so it can withstand high temperatures, and it has a Sony Starvis sensor for clear video quality. I did not hardwire it, I am using the USB port on the rear passenger seat, so there are no dangling wires. It cost me 499 AED for the camera, 100 AED for the CPL filter, 249 AED for a 256 GB card (they include a free 32 GB card, but it only records up to 2 hours), and 179 AED for at-home installation. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and can definitely recommend it.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • What's a good, cheap dashcam? ->Check the image I posted on this link https://www.reddit.com/r/DubaiPetrolHeads/s/fn8o1LHYKc Its obviously compressed in the comment but honestly its quite good. Easy to make out number plate details etc
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • What's a good, cheap dashcam? ->Hi everyone, just an appreciation post for this community. I recently bought a new BMW M340i and was looking for good dash cam options and PPF for the car. This community helped me a lot in finding the right people to approach by sharing your experiences and recommendations. To help anyone else looking for real-world feedback, I would also like to share mine. **For PPF**, based on the community recommendations, I went ahead with XPEL PPF and got it installed at Apex Detailing Studio. They recommended the XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF 10Mil, which includes 10 years of maintenance. The installation was excellent, with no scratch marks since everything was machine-cut. They also asked me to bring the car back after a week to make sure the PPF had settled properly. I also remembered someone mentioning that I should say I came through the r/DubaiPetrolheads. They happily added a Gtechniq ceramic coating package as a complimentary add-on. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with u/ApexDetailStudio, and a huge shoutout to Ravi for helping me throughout the process. Just added some pictures post PPF. **For the dash cam**, I did my research and decided on the Viofo VS1. I wanted something discreet (I did not want to hardwire it and risk affecting the warranty) and only needed a single-channel setup. I was initially considering importing the BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 or FitCamX to avoid dangling wires, but u/ViofoUAE recommended the VS1. With their home installation service, the camera was installed so cleanly that I barely notice it at all. Again, thanks to u/ViofoUAE for answering all my questions. The pictures are before the dashcam was installed, but if someone wants to see how the camera looks post installation, let me know and I can send you the picture for an idea. If anyone has any questions about my experience, feel free to DM me. And to the rest of the community, thank you again for all your suggestions in previous posts.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Appreciation post for the community!! ->For PPF its a little expensive, they generally run offers on the packages but the going rate for 10mil package was 16k + VAT. You can check with them on the latest pricing or any applicable offers. For VS1 Dash Cam, its 499 for camera, 178 for home installation, 100 for CPL Filter and 250 for a 256gb card. They do give a complimentary 32gb card along with camera
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Appreciation post for the community!! ->Thank you. You can actually install it yourself, as the dashcam comes with a prying tool to help you conceal the wires inside the interior trims and panels. I chose their home installation service because I did not want to risk doing it myself. If you do not tuck the wires in properly, they will keep dangling in front of you.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Appreciation post for the community!! ->a simpler one that hides behind the rear view mirror and and adapter to allow it to plug into the power supply there VIOFO VS1 Mini Dash Cam via Amazon
r/Tacomaworld • Best dash cam rearview ->I wish I could post video for you in the comments but I have a VIOFO vS1 and its amazing. Small so I don’t notice it and great video quality
r/JeepGladiator • Best Dash Cams? ->VIOFO, and make sure it says "STARVIS 2" sensor. Not "STARVIS", but "STARVIS 2". Also get the VIOFO branded Industrial Grade SD Card. VIOFO Industrial and Sandisk MAX Endurance are the only two SD cards recommended by VIOFO. Other cards have potential of file corruption after extended use.
r/Subaru_Outback • What inexpensive mods or accessories would you buy? Xmas gift. ->Viofo VS1 is the best bang for buck right now.
r/Dashcam • Dashcam to record road trips ->I made the mistake of only getting a front mounted viofo vs1. For this car I really recommend getting a cam with a separate front and rear cam, that way you can position the rear cam properly. This car is tiny and ppl just dont see it, especially since everyone is on their phones :/
r/GR86 • How important is a dashcam? ->I've had no need for parking mode so for the past 15 years we've been manually powering on/off our dash cams. It' has only been in the last couple of years or so that we started hardwring them yet I still have three dash cams we manually power on/off. OP needs to lower their prerequisites especially when their max budget is only $200 CAD... I'm in Canada also so.... In my opinion best if they choose something like the Viofo A119 Mini 2 w/HK4 hardwire kit, or the VS1 Mini with the HK5 hardwire kit. Psarking Mode is enabled/disabled via the camera settings (disabled by default), so leaving it off there should not be any concern of battery drain.
r/Dashcam • Overwhelmed with dashcam options. What should I get? ->Well, if you just want a single channel dash cam maybe have a look at the Viofo A119 Mini 2 or Viofo VS1 Mini. As for a two channel, then consider the older (released in 2020) Viofo A129 Plus Duo. All dash cams mentioned record in 2K front. Yes I am a bit partial to the brand as they have served me well over the year, "can" be reasonably priced considering feature-set, and they can easily be found on Amazon where I purchased my five two Viofo's in 2019. P.S. Viofo isn't the only brand we have used over our 15 years of dealing with dash cams. At present, besides having a Viofo A119 Mini 2 & A229 Plus 3-ch in play we are also using the 70mai m500 & S500, and the Wolfbox G900 Pro.
r/Dashcam • Which is the best budget dash cam? ->I did not hardwire mine, just plugged it inside my car. One Viofo mini at the front, then got one from amazon at $35 and placed it at the back (both connected by long cables). I DIY the viofo by sticking it to a speed trap radar detector mounting base that has a suction cup and now I can remove the viofo whenever I want.
r/COROLLA • Do you install yourself a dash cam or went to a dealership or any other professional to do it? ->viofo a119 v3 or the mini. tapping into the cabin fuse box is your best bet.
r/Lexus • Recommend front dash cam ->Look at Garmin. We have 2 of them, one is 6 years old and still working like new. We are in Palm Beach and the temperature is reaching extremes behind the windshield. We also have a mini Viofo as rear camera but we prefer the Garmins. They are really tiny and include the red light camera locations
r/Dashcam • what dash cam to buy ->Viofo mini hides perfectly behind the mirror, youll never see it unless you look over. Assuming you mount it on the ceramic black dots. I mounted it there to cut uv and heat exposure to the camera. Has stayed in place fine.
r/CX50 • Dash Cam ->I have a viofo mini https://preview.redd.it/sg3ffwi3dpxf1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37cb162b385ea25497f01255ba0eb137d29ab7e6 It’s extremely subtle which I like

r/Challenger • Recommendation for dash cam? ->I have the VIOFO Mini because I only needed something to record the front. I wanted something minimalist, as I didn’t like the idea of a cable running across my dashboard. I was about to buy a Fitcamx, but after reviewing them, I didn’t like them. What did I do? I found out that the same company that makes Fitcamx also manufactures an adapter. So, I connected that adapter to the front sensor and ran a cable to the camera. Technically, it’s not visible.
r/rav4club • For those who have Dash Cams in your RAV4 Hybrid ->Got into dashcam with the g1w whatever sometime before 2017z after 2017 or so I’ve been using VIOFO with no issues. VIOFO a119v2, VIOFO mini (in use), and VIOFO dual cams on two other cars.
r/Camry • What's everyone's go to dashcam? ->I have the same in my 2024 XLE ICE. Ran the cord along the top, behind the weather stripping of the passenger door, through the side, behind the gloves box and down through a hole beneath the radio but above the usb ports (there’s a light in higher trims but it’s just a hole). I used the supplied adapter. Love the mini, no rear camera or park monitoring but I’m ok with that. Hope I never need to footage!
r/rav4club • For those who have Dash Cams in your RAV4 Hybrid ->I prefer the latest VIOFO dash cams. And if the latest model is outside your budget look at the 2k or 1080p versions.
r/Dashcam • What's the best dashcam you can recommend? (price, quality, durability) ->Also a fan of Viofo. Been working great since I installed it just over a year ago. I got it because of the Starvis 2 sensor which gives improved clarity in the dark. If anyone is driving at night I highly recommend any dashcam with a Starvis 2 sensor.
r/rav4prime • Dash & rear camera recommendations ->I've had good luck with the viofo dash cams over the years. Some of the more expensive viofos have the Starvis 2 sensor, which does get a slightly better image (which might help if you are reading a license plate). Buy a really good high-endurance SD card, no matter what you buy And if you are ever in a collision, read the plate out loud so the mic can pick it up. Just in case the camera doesn't quite pick it up.
r/prius • Toyota Dash Cam... Or 3rd party? ->Screw it looking oe. What you really want is a good camera. Viofo makes some of the better ones WITH a rear camera as well. After doing lots of research, lots of them use garbage cameras but the better ones use Sony. Specifically the Song Starvis. The Starvis 2 just recently came out and viofo made a new one with the 2. Good cam, doesn't look ugly. Supports parking recording and collision detection. [viofo Amazon ](https://a.co/d/izrOa1d)
r/mazda3 • Dash cam for current 3 models ->VIOFO. Whatever brand get one utilizing Starvis 2 sensor and that has HDR. Seen alot of recommendations for Dongar adapter for clean install into mirror.
r/Subaru_Outback • What dash cameras are you guys using? ->Just when I think I have a good answer, someone comes up with a better answer. The hardwire kit looks great, definitely going to get that for my viofo. For others that are shopping, the starvis 2 sensor this has is great. I have both the older and newer viofo units, and the starvis 2 definitely makes a difference compared to the previous gen.
r/GR86 • What dash cams does everybody use? ->Looked into the Fitcam and VIOFO. The sample footage Fitcam support sent wasn't promising, so I went with the newer VIOFO using Starvis 2 image sensors. Doesn't really distract me but I do occasionally get questions from passengers. Also feel like having an obvious dashcam as a deterrent for reverse-into-you insurance scammers could be a plus. Overall happy, do wish it could do 1440p60+HDR in both front and back simultaneously though.
r/Ioniq6 • Dashcam ->Watch some of those Dashcams compilations on YouTube to get an idea between cheap vs good, you'll notice the difference in quality between clips. It comes down to sensor quality and key features. IMO Viofo are excellent for the price. Sony Starvis 2 sensor, parking mode, wifi and app.... actually these are the only functions I really use.
r/australia • Best dashcam available in AU that isn't super expensive ->Yes, although I would go for any Viofo with the Sony Starvis sensor.
r/hondafit • Dash cam recommendations? ->Vantrue or VIOFO. They both use the Sony Starvis image sensor and have great quality. The cameras are pretty set and forget if you opt for the hardwire kit. It will turn on and off with the car and start recording as soon as it starts up. The included power adapter does the same thing if your power port in your car turns off with the ignition.
r/Parenting • Recommendation request: dash cam for teen driver? ->70Mai is good - I've one in the CX5, front and rear cameras - and bought direct from AliExpress - retailers here sell the same thing, just for more. Do the math. Also the Viofo seem to be getting traction well - pick anything with the Sony Starvis sensor really - they're good in day and great at night.
r/newzealand • Dash Cam Advice ->The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.
r/Polestar • Dash cam Recommendations ->Viofo from hachielectronics. It plugs from my fake engine noise so it doesn't have to take up usb space nor have to do any fuse voodoo.
r/subaru • Dash cam people please let me know what your using and why? ->For install, look up a video on how to install one and it tells you which fuse to tap. You’ll have to drill a hole on the silver frame of the dashboard to get a ground but overall it’s not hard to install. I recommend Vioflo or Nextbase.
r/Silverado • Dashcam ->GKU D700 - around $122 on Amazon after coupon. Have 3 of these in our household and they’ve been flawless (installed with the hardwire kit for an extra $25ish). App is great, decent size touchscreen, good quality front and rear video and capacitor based I believe. Had Viofos in the past which didn’t last more than 1-2 years, so thought I’d give these a try.
r/CarsAustralia • DASHCAM ON BUDGET ->I've owned several Viofos and I don't trust them anymore with their built in capacitors that died. I now have 70mai brand. Have the model A800S
r/Ioniq5 • Recommendations for a dash cam? ->I've owned a bunch of Viofos but have switched to 70mai for the Ioniq 5. But anyways, you should mount it on the plastic part with just the lens peeking enough to view the street. Or put it on the right side of the plastic housing. It's annoying having the dashcam visible in your eyeline.
r/Ioniq5 • Installed my dash cam today. Thought I would share info ->I've ran several viofos with no problems. Currently run a A119 V3. No problem easy install. Been running them for years. Usually if something is wrong, its the sd card.
r/ram_trucks • Any opinions on a good dash cam? ->Try watching Dashcmas Australia, take of the the crappy ones and the good footages. Most of the good ones I see consistently are Viofos.
r/CarsAustralia • Dashcam suggestions ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
