"Super easy. ... Took about 20-30 minutes"
"It plugs right into the power source for the lane assist and hides inside the housing for it so I can basically just forget it’s there until I need to grab a clip."
"Dream to fit as it connects to existing "safety eye camera" around rear vision mirror. ... Took 5 minutes. Could do it in one minute next time."

"Reliability wise is was rock solid never having an ounce of issues with it through three winters and two whole summers."
"Yeah they are specifically better in the heat than other cameras because they use a super capacitor instead of a battery to do the final writing to the SD card when the power gets cut by your car. ... Batteries tend to have issues in extreme heat/cold"
"I've had a Viofo A129 for a couple of years now, and I leave it in the car 24/7 without issues despite the heat and cold."

"It actually saved me recently from a hit and run with the parking mode, lady scratched the hell out of my door and it got her license plate."
"the parking surveillance feature has unbelievable sensitivity."
"it has 24/7 parking mode too."

"Looks great (inconspicuous) ... Not at all, great visibility and keeps it all very clean! No need to have a bulky camera attached to the windshield."
"the rear camera helps me know when I’m clear to switch lanes especially if I need to do it with what some would say “less space than ideal”"
"Video is used at night to help see the rear view."

"You're not going to get much better quality than BlackVue 700 models."
"But both work great and I would 100% get front and rear."
"Last month got rear ended by person on the phone. ... I downloaded the event clip from the mobile app and was able to show the video to the police on the spot. ... The other driver got a ticket for using the phone."

"very shitty video quality"

"if you don’t want to hardwire it, you can run into problems. ... One of mine is plugged into the lighter socket which on my Lexus would be powered on only with ignition, on my Skoda it’s always on, I’ve had a few flat batteries as a result."
"it took a lot of YouTube watching to understand the details to do it professionally and safely. ... One of the hardest parts was getting g ng the wires through the factory rubber boots between the car frame and the hatchback."
"Some of the hardest parts were routing the wires through the rubber grommets of the factory wiring of the hatch. ... Can a self install be done, Yes, however after my experience I can appreciate the work of a professional install."

"if dark tint it's hard to use it as a rear view mirror lol."
1. Choose a camera with capacitors, not a battery. 2. Use one that doesn't need fastening to the windshield 3. Remove it when using it, no matter what the manufacturer says, no camera is meant to sit in a car that is locked and closed with 115 temp outside. The inside is WAY hotter. What do I use, as a texan? I love my wolfbox g900 It's not cheap but it's absolutely amazing for me. It attaches and replaces your rear view mirror and uses a rear 2k hd cam instead and also records forward with a touchscreen that just straps to the rearview mirror, and can be easily removed when going inside. I have a little carrying bag I keep it in just for it when I remove it. You may as well just consider the parking security function, that requires a hardwire to the battery, to be a moot point during the summer. It just plugs in via a usb type c otherwise and is simple and easy to use. Not worth the price .. I'm using Wolfbox G900 dashcam with Digital rearview mirror.
I have this one and I love it! https://a.co/d/dcsinoI
Cannot recommend the wolfbox g900 enough. I just installed mine yesterday. You don’t necessarily have to buy adapters. I routed mine to the fuse box for permanent power and it works great. GPS feature is cool for trail rides and if you have a topper or anything obstructing the view the rear cam is also great for that. It records in 4K in front. Love it so far
I have had one since 2022 and still works great. It is a mirror with remote back up camera. Replaced the SD card several times, but that's normal.
I have a 12 inch Wolfbox mirror unit and love it. 4k front camera and 2.5k rear. And if you want a hardwire kit, their customer service will send you one for free if you ask (OBD-II or fuse panel type). They have a variety of price points to choose from, and all come with a supercapacitor.
I have several... \* Viofo A119 V3 - late 2019 \* Viofo A119 Mini 2 - Jan 2024 \* Viofo A229 Plus 3-ch - Aug 2024 \* Wolfbox G900 2-ch - Nov 2022 \* Wolfbox G900 Pro 2-ch - Feb 2025... replacing the Wolfbox G900 \* 70mai M500 - Mar 2023 \* 70mai Omni X200 - Apr 2023 \* 70mai A810 2-ch - Aug 2023 \* 70mai S500 2-ch - Sept 2023 \* DDPAI Mini Pro - sometime in 2023 There are others but these are the most relevant ones.
I used the Wolfbox G900 for 2.3 year (bought in Nov 2022) loving the form factor. Although the rear cameras video resolution (1080p) wasn't the greatest it did the trick during the daytime, for the most part. Reliability wise is was rock solid never having an ounce of issues with it through three winters and two whole summers. Then recently I upgraded to the Wolfbox G900 Pro as the upgrades it offered were worthwhile to me. The front cameras upgraded 4K Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 Image Sensor is a definite game changer. The rear camera uses the older 2.5K Sony STARVIS IMX335 Image Sensor yet it has made quite a difference too both day and night. I ended up being so happy with the G900 Pro that we purchased another for our other vehicle LOL. In my opinion, the only way to improve upon the rear camera video resolution even more is to equip it with either the newest Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 (4K) or IMX675 (2K) image sensor. Don't foresee that happening any time soon though. Wolfbox does have a couple of new up and coming dash cams that cane be preordered... \* [G900 TriPro Bumper Version 3](https://wolfbox.com/products/wolfbox-g900tripro-bumper-version-3-channel-rearview-mirror) \* [TriPro 4K+2.5K+1080P 3 Channel Cabin Monitor](https://wolfbox.com/products/wolfbox-g900tripro-cabin-version-3-channel-dash-camera) P.S. The sensor used in the front camera is the 4K Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678. The rear cameras use a Omnivision Purecel Plus OS04J10 sensor which is totally foreign to me, and the third cameras sensor is unknown. Compared to the G900 Pro's price ($299.99 USD) these are $359.99 USD.
Wolfbox g900. 4k front 2.5k rear. I got it as a birthday gift but I've really liked it so far!
I think cheap dashcams quality suffers the most in night time. I used to have a wolfbox g900 and during night time it recorded like a potato. How’s it with this one? But ever since this sub has raised awareness about battery pack dashcams vs supercapacitors I don’t think I’ll ever get a non-supercapacitor one.
Plus 1 for the wolfbox g900. It’s awesome and I too installed mine just like kirschbaumr.
