Viofo A229 or A329. I've used a couple of different dashcams, including a Garmin, Wolfbox G900, and the mentioned Viofo dashcams. imo, the Viofo has them beat. Video quality is amazing! Able to read license plates fairly easy, which is a big issue with many dashcams. Even nighttime use is great! Parking mode is excellent when you use the hardware kits. I'd be glad to answer any questions aboit any of these if you needed.

I agree here. I had a Garmin dashcam that I purchased with a standalone GPS unit. The dash dashcam was pretty bad. Overheating issues was the biggest thing. Which led to issues recording. I later went to a Viofo A119, later upgraded to the A229 Pro. And now I have the A329S. The clarity of the videos is amazing! I have a Wolfbox G900 also. Its pretty nice, but the Viofo still has it beat.

I love my Wolfbox 900 too. Takes an hour or so to hide all the cables in the ‘25 Canyon

I run a WOLFBOX G900 on my GTI and is a 24/7 setup, never had a battery issue, matter of fact I also running the same setup on my 22 supra BUT you must use the car EVERYDAY or run an external rechargeable battery which is not a big deal. *these camaras got me 7k$ so far.

My wife mentioned to me she’d been encountering some crazy traffic in November. The issue was she wanted rear view video as well. I searched the web for the best solution and found the Wolfbox G900. It’s got dash cam, plus front bumper and rear. Plus, it doubles as a really nice digital rear view camera. I was able to install it in her car all professional looking in about 4 hours on Christmas Day. She loves it and uses it every day - huge upgrade and a better Xmas present than anything I’ve got her in ten years. Also, it constantly records when the car is running. So there’s no worry about jumping to make sure your camera saves things, like how my Garmin dash cam works.

I have the G900 and it's great for daytime use, but it's terrible when it's dark and even worse in the rain. I've come to terms with it but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. To be fair, I was in an Escalade over the weekend, which comes with a standard video rear view, and it was terrible, too. Digital video still has a long way to go to be usable at night.

I just got my Wolfbox installed and so far I'm not loving it. My biggest mistake was installing the rear camera on the 3rd brakelight and it shakes a lot. Wouldn't be a big problem except it replaced my rearview mirror. Front cam is great, though. https://preview.redd.it/x0mkld5ebkxf1.jpeg?width=2184&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6936122b86c5eca1d7347c96a313a6ea8abbdcd3 Other issues is that at night, there is a lot of glare in the rearview, and forget about seeing anything in the rain.

The Wolfbox G900 rear view mirror dash cams have worked great for me starting with the G900 which I purchased in November 2022. Now I’m running two G900 Pro’s. The rear cameras are mounted outside as they were intended never encountering an ounce of problems with any of mine, to-date. If the red wire is connected to the positive side of the backup lights it’ll function as a backup camera when the vehicle is put into reverse. Ninety percent of the time I turn off the mirror’s video displays using it as a conventional rear view mirror… Not nearly as good as an OEM rear view mirror nor do they auto dim, yet IMO they still do the job. If one prefers, the display can be set to show one or both (front/rear) cameras for as long as one wants… A quick tap on the power button cycles the display on or off.
