Be aware that the TrueBrew has had some reliability concerns. It’s basically a perfect match for what you’re looking for, but you may want to budget an extended warranty. The Breville Grind Control Coffee Maker is another option but appears to have some issues as well. If you can give up the auto start functionality much better quality machines in my opinion become viable options.
r/superautomatic • Coffee (not espresso) machine question… ->When I discovered my old Mr Coffee was shedding grains of plastic into my coffee via the capillary tube in the tank, I retired it and bought a Breville Grind Control. I love the flavor of fresh ground beans even more than I thought I would, but I learned that you really do need to warm the carafe just before you start the brew cycle. It keeps the coffee warm long enough to get me through the morning. As for the Breville, great coffee, but cleanup and maintenance is a pain.
r/Coffee • This feature of drip coffee makers annoys the everliving sh*t out of me ->I have the breville precision brewer, my mom has the grind control (the one with the built in grinder). Both are great, mine is only a few years old but he’s has been brewing daily for like 15 years
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->Ok, so I'm in the market for a new drip coffee maker. I currently have a Breville Grind Control (Original Version) and I'm finding more and more that I'm not happy with it. The grind is often too big, I find that it over fills the grind basket leaving a mess, the carafe is a bit of a pain to clean out (and attach the lid), and the buttons are slowly becoming non-responsive. So here is what I'm looking for: * Fits a left counter placement, up against a wall / fridge divider, located partially under a top cabinet. So the controls would ideally be front facing, and/or to the front right side of the coffee maker. * While I see the appeal of stainless steel carafe, I feel like I would like to go back to glass with an under heating element. I could be convinced otherwise. Visually it's just nice to see the coffee level remaining and how clean the craft is. * Does not have to have a built in grinder but it would be nice. * Top FRONT fill for water. I would prefer to not have to slide out the machine every time I want to add water and top it off. * Removable back water tank. While I can descale my current one, it would be nice to separate the tank and give it some elbow grease one in a while. * Supports reusable baskets. Minor need here, but it's all fun and games until you need a coffee filter and don't have one. * Not wider than my current coffee makers footprint (9.0"?) * Makes a god cup of coffee :D Open to any and all makers readily available in the US. Thanks!
r/BuyItForLife • Drip Coffee Maker - Time for a new one ->I’ve had a breville grind control machine for probably 9 years now. Never had an issue. Clean the grinder shoot every day,
r/BuyItForLife • Ownership experience for Breville or OXO drip coffee makers? What's service and warranty like? ->I couldn't decide between the Moccamaster and the Breville Grind Control, I went with the Breville because of convenience, as it had a timer and bean hopper, all in one. I used it for 3 months and it was so much labour, cleaning the grinder, the basket, sludgy stains everywhere. I bought a Moccamaster and descaled it once in 3 months. I have a separate grinder but I grind a few day's worth ahead of time and seal in a jar. Even without a timer, it's so much less work.
r/BuyItForLife • Ok, so we bit the bullet... You guys were right. ☕ ☕ ->Anyone here give a comparison between the KM5 and the breville grind control? The breville is nice, it can be calibrated with bean grinds, but the machine is really hard to clean and maintain.
r/BuyItForLife • Coffee maker Recs Moccamaster or Bunn for smaller pots? ->Love our Breville "Grind Control" which grinds and brews coffee for us daily. Way out of your price range, though. My only complaint is the carafe has a lip on it making pouring the last drops of coffee out very difficult.
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->I had a Cuisinart "Grind - N Brew" with the built in grinder for 10+ years. Thought i'd "Upgrade" to the Breville with its hopper of coffee beans and it automatically figuring out how much coffee to grind based on how many cups of coffee you were making in the pot. After about 2 years it started to leak, starting off once in a while, and then getting worse. And by leak, it's not just some water running out... its while the coffee is being made and since I use the timer i'd come downstairs in the morning to see a ton of coffee spilled all over the counts, down the drawers, and on the floor. The chute between the grinder and basket would also clog. I went back to a new Cuisinart like 3 years ago and it's been great.
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->It depends what you want: If you want to tweak and maybe hit maximal bean flavor expression w/ said tweability, probably a fellow aiden. If you want a no fuss tank that'll last forever - Moccamaster If you want a few basic features but nothing crazy that'll also be very durable - Sage/Breville brewer
