You can go way down a rabbit hole here… My current drip setup is a Breville on the Gold setting. Probably get a Fellow Aiden for the next one. I’d also recommend a good burr grinder if you don’t have one yet.
r/Appliances • Best Coffee Maker to buy in 2025 ->Same but called Breville Precision Brewer in the states. This has been my daily driver drip maker for the last 3.5 years. I prep the night before, use spring water, \~69 grams coffee to 1200ml water at the "8-cup cone max" fill line and "Gold" setting. It has several options to customize under "My Brew" including bloom time, temp, flow rate, etc. I don't have a problem with the coffee not being hot enough, but I haven't checked the temps with a thermometer. I usually can't drink it right after pouring from the carafe and a little milk cools it to the right temp for me. My minor gripe is cleaning the thermal carafe. It gets quite a layer of old coffee and scrubbing, vinegar, coffee cleaning tablets haven't worked well. And the cap seems to trap a dribble of coffee as well. I'll probably have to get a replacement carafe eventually.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->Breville precision brewer. Can make 1-12 cups of coffee. Also supports a pour over attachment which is quite nice for single brews
r/homeowners • Best coffee maker for home use ->My recommendation too!!
r/workingmoms • Best coffee makers commonly chosen by most people today? ->I was also disappointed with my cuisinart coffee maker and grinder. I have been happy with a breville precision brewer and baratza encore grinder since switching a couple years ago.
r/Coffee • I’m done with Cuisinart ->Precision brewer offers more than a moccamaster imo.
r/JamesHoffmann • Best coffee maker machine - what's your top choice for home today? ->Breville precision brewer is highly reccomended by r/coffee I have it and love it. It does have a glass option but I’d suggest the thermal carafe.
r/Cooking • drip coffee pot recommendations ->Had the breville precision brewer for 5.5 years. Recently it wasn’t brewing as hot as it used to. Was just annoyingly lukewarm. Upgraded to the moccamaster and very happy so far. Love that it has a 5 year warranty.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Coffee machines recommendation? ->Just bought the moccamaster a few weeks ago. Very happy with it. Love that it has a 5 year warranty. It was about $560 CAD after tax. Expensive but I read about people having it for 20+ years. Got it after my 5 year old Breville precision brewer no longer had a consistent temperature.
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->Something underrated about the Breville Precision Brew is that both the basket and carafe can be placed from 270 degrees. So you can have the machine horizontal or vertically oriented. Until you touch it and play with it, it might not sound like a feature, but the way the basket clicks in from any approach angle is really really nice.
r/BuyItForLife • Can anyone recommend a programmable, smaller footprint, easy to use and clean coffee maker? ->There’s a new model of the BPB coming out. Also, I had one and sold it. The carafe lid is a poor design for cleaning. And it’s only available as a part by buying the whole carafe again.
r/JamesHoffmann • Coffee lovers, what's the best coffee maker/machine? ->I went with Breville on sale. At full price, would also consider Fellow Aiden and Ratio brewers. Curious about the cafe brewers.
r/Appliances • Best Coffee Maker to buy in 2025 ->I have a Breville Precision and couldn't be happier (the moccamaster was in the running but ultimately went with the breville
r/BuyItForLife • Moccamaster or OXO coffee maker? ->The Breville precision has good temp control. It's also massive and I find the cone insert kind of annoying, cause there are essentially two baskets to clean. I don't love the carafe, either. The Fellow Aiden will be released shortly. It seems to be the most advanced domestic batch brewer on the market. I haven't actually used it, but I had a cup from a 1.5L batch brewed in one, and it was fantastic. It's also very sleek looking in person. I have a Moccamaster and it handles specialty light roasts just fine. I bought it because they are dead simple, parts are available and cheap, and the materials in the brew path are high quality. If you brew more than 750ml at a time, the Ratio 6 is a great option, for the same reasons as Moccamaster. It uses a flat basket instead of conical, and the shower head distributes the water more effectively than the Moccamaster.
r/pourover • Recommendation Drip coffee maker ->I've had a Breville Precision coffee maker for a few years now and I absolutely love it. It has tons of custom settings, and you can adjust the water temperature by degree.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->Breville Precision brewer and Fellow Aiden allow you to tweak a lot. But the Moccamaster quietly and easily delivers good brews.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I’ve had a [Breville precision coffee maker](https://a.co/d/2D0rsVL) for the last 5 years and highly recommend it. They have a model with a glass carafe and another with the thermal carafe. Get the thermal one. I recommend this model because it mimics a pour over method when making coffee. You can use cone or regular filters. You can customize your brew in several ways, which is perfect for someone who is into coffee, but also wants the convenience of a push start, make coffee machine. Whatever you choose, I’d stay away from the models with a combo grinder + drip coffee maker. If you’re into coffee, you’ll want to get a fancy grinder and none of the combo machines really hit the bar. I hope your BF appreciates the thoughtful gift. That’s really kind of you to get something meaningful like this for him.
r/homeowners • Best coffee maker for home use ->Honestly, save up and buy[ this](https://www.breville.com/us/en/products/coffee/bdc450.html?sku=BDC450BSS1BUS1), worth every penny if you love coffee.
r/AskReddit • What is a high end under 200 Drip Coffee maker with a removable water reservoir that you recommend? ->After owning multiple moccamasters and feeling like they channelled and brewed too hot for more extractible beans I've switched to the breville precision brewer based on advice from the coffee nerds I know. Could not be happier with the function and brewed coffee. Going on 3 years with no issues.
r/BuyItForLife • [deleted by user] ->I like my Breville Precision Brewer. On top of its automatic start, your brew can be tweaked in lots of ways. It’s expensive for drip coffee, but I love it.
r/BuyItForLife • [deleted by user] ->We have a breville precision brewer. It was my choice because it does single cup drip, full carafe drip, and cold brew for my husband. It’s also less than your price point! Easy to use, keep clean and descale as well.
r/workingmoms • Best coffee makers commonly chosen by most people today? ->That is true I also hate that the water tank isn’t removable!
r/workingmoms • Best coffee makers commonly chosen by most people today? ->I also have this machine and I’m generally happy with it, it brews a good cup/pot of coffee. One of the main things I was looking for was an insulated pot/no heating pad PLUS a full size pot. This was one of the only machines I could find that combined these features. Even though it is pretty sturdy feeling material, I’m not thrilled by the entire machine being made out of plastic. I thought for the price point it should use more stainless. The second thing I don’t love about it is that the water reservoir isn’t removable. I think it would be far more convenient if it were, for filling and also for washing. A bit of water always sits in the bottom after a brew and I worry about mold forming.
r/workingmoms • Best coffee makers commonly chosen by most people today? ->We also have this pot and love it. Flexibility for different brew styles, timer so you can set it up the night before, and has maintained well for the five years we've owned it. This guy [did a review on the coffee maker. ](https://youtu.be/HfkdkZRv6Mc?si=kkqzMaH-z7imWbNs)
r/workingmoms • Best coffee makers commonly chosen by most people today? ->If you want to make filter coffee.... And possibly plenty of it then Moccamaster if you want a set and forget it option that will last forever and make great coffee Sage/Breville Precision brewer if you want to be able to play with settings, so you can tweak flow rates, water temperatures, bloom times for a few months and then just press the auto button after that. I think I'd probably be happy with the one I didn't but, but I'm very happy with the one I got. As to espresso? Im gonna have to seriously upgrade my grinder before I even think about that
r/JamesHoffmann • Best coffee maker machine - what's your top choice for home today? ->I had a Cuisinart "Grind - N Brew" with the built in grinder for 10+ years. Thought i'd "Upgrade" to the Breville with its hopper of coffee beans and it automatically figuring out how much coffee to grind based on how many cups of coffee you were making in the pot. After about 2 years it started to leak, starting off once in a while, and then getting worse. And by leak, it's not just some water running out... its while the coffee is being made and since I use the timer i'd come downstairs in the morning to see a ton of coffee spilled all over the counts, down the drawers, and on the floor. The chute between the grinder and basket would also clog. I went back to a new Cuisinart like 3 years ago and it's been great.
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->I have the Breville Precision brewer, it works great but the heating pad looks like shit. The non-stick coating or whatever is it wore out and now I have to clean it or it will get rusty. Before that I had a $20 coffee maker and the coffee the Breville makes is so much better. I just wish they would've made their heating pad better quality.
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->I currently have a Bonavita drip machine that has a thermal carafe, it's SCA approved and hard to beat for the price. But if my budget was larger, I'd go with the Breville Precision Brewer with the thermal carafe. The Breville offers adjustability that can come close to replicating techniques that you'd use for pour over. If it's good enough for James Hoffman, it's good enough for the rest of us. It's also worth noting that build quality aside from Breville, they have good customer service and repair. Even their out of warranty repairs are reasonable. Usually if you pay for an out of warranty repair, they might determine it's too difficult to repair and will send a refurbished or new unit. And yes, the thermal carafe is worth the money over the glass. That way you're not continuously heating the coffee.
r/smarthome • Best coffee maker recommendations - Smart or non-smart, which one is really better? ->The breville precission brewers allow you to put the pour over into the machine to simulate a pour over. So you can put your stainless and glass pour over into the breville instead of the normal plastic filter piece. Its a lot of coin to avoid plastic, but it does work. And the breville is a great coffee maker: [Breville Precision Brewer Tribute Edition Pour Over Coffee Brewer | Seattle Coffee Gear](https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/collections/breville/products/breville-precision-brewer-coffee-maker-tribute-edition) > **Automatic Pour Over** \- Each Precision Brewer includes an adapter and restricted spray head for your Kalita or Hario pour over cone.
r/BuyItForLife • Do any coffee machines exist that don't pour the hot coffee over plastic before it goes into the pot? ->The Breville Precision Brewer does and I can recommend it
r/pourover • Recommendation Drip coffee maker ->Honestly, I’ve used a great number of filter brewers. I’ve never had any issues with the Sage (Breville) precision brewer, The Moccamaster, or the Wilfa Precision brewer. Each of those come within budget, and anyone would be thrilled to get em :) Nice gift and good luck!
r/JamesHoffmann • Coffee lovers, what's the best coffee maker/machine? ->Breville Precision if he cares about the ability to tweak a bunch of variables, despite the brewer not being very remarkable to look at on your counter every single day. Moccamaster if he cares about design. If he’s into mid century design, things like Herman Miller furniture, vintage Braun products, record players, etc. Fellow Aiden if he’s into the latest tech They’ll all brew pretty good coffee, but in my opinion these three serve three different types of people. I care about my coffee and nerd out over my pour over coffee, but I own a Moccamaster because I simply cannot justify having an ugly coffee maker on my counter 24/7/365 when something as beautiful as the Moccamaster exists
r/JamesHoffmann • Coffee lovers, what's the best coffee maker/machine? ->Big fan of the Breville Precision Brewer, but the Fellow Aiden has decent reviews and has a little better look/design. If he doesn't have one, a nice grinder is also something to consider.
r/JamesHoffmann • Coffee lovers, what's the best coffee maker/machine? ->Just get a chemex. No plastic, will last forever if you don't break it. Makes great coffee. Whatever you do, don't buy the Breville Precision... The lid design is defective. Mold grows inside the lid, and there's no good way to clean it out. Gross.
r/Appliances • Best Coffee Maker to buy in 2025 ->I’ve had one of those for a couple of years. It’s pretty good but the basket thing has a metal surround which collects water between it and the plastic, so either you’ve got to spend a while shaking the water out on every wash or it’ll leak nasty brown water. I also wish the top of it opened so I could see what it’s doing. Otherwise it’s pretty good, controllable, coffee is good.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->Moccamaster has super cheap touch points. Gave it away and got a breville precision brewer which i like much more.
r/BuyItForLife • Moccamaster or OXO coffee maker? ->Moccamaster has super cheap abs plastic touch points. I upgraded to a breville precision brewer.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->I only make filter coffee at home. I use the Breville Precision brewer and I'd recommend it over the other two filter options you have. First, it's very configurable. Second, it comes with an insulated steel carafe. If you already ruled it out, I'm curious why?
r/JamesHoffmann • Best coffee maker / machine to buy 2025 ->Yo mate, I have had the sage or Breville precision brewer since last easter and it is amazing with temp control and single cup brewing. For my first machine it is amazing and it can brew 1.8l (idk in ounces or cups). It is currently on sale in the UK with some stores selling it for less than 200 quid. I would recommend getting a good grinder with the rest of the money as it allows you to spend more on the grinder.
r/JamesHoffmann • Best coffee maker / machine to buy 2025 ->People love them because buying them new gives you a great warranty and they're built to last. In my opinion though, they are not the best automatic brewer on the market. I feel like the brazen Behmor plus 3.0 or the Sage/Breville precision brewer is an obvious choice because they are so customizable. The Behmor seems to have a superior showerhead to them all though. Instead of a bubble boiler, it literally boils the water kettle style above the coffee, then releases it at your desired temp into a proper shower head. The way most of them slowly boil the water into the shower head just doesn't get the job done. Especially silly that they don't ALL have circular showerheads
r/JamesHoffmann • I bought a Moccamaster coffee machine ->I'm getting ready to send my second Precision Brewer back to Breville for the second time, with the same problem I had with the first Precision Brewer. It brews only half or a quarter of a pot then says its hot and stops. I'm over it and will be moving on. The Aiden is starting to look pretty good.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->It depends what you want: If you want to tweak and maybe hit maximal bean flavor expression w/ said tweability, probably a fellow aiden. If you want a no fuss tank that'll last forever - Moccamaster If you want a few basic features but nothing crazy that'll also be very durable - Sage/Breville brewer
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I know everyone is going to say Moccamaster, but I will die on this hill: the Breville Preciscion Brewer is LEAGUES better. I wanted to get a really nice coffeemaker for my birthday a year ago and initially bought the Moccamaster (because that's the one everyone says to get), and I was pretty disappointed. The coffee was...fine? My BF, seeing my disappointment, insisted we try the Preciscion Brewer "just to see." We decided to keep whichever made the better coffee. He spent quite a bit of time tweaking the settings, and once we figured out the perfect settings... GAME OVER! I can't drink coffee from anywhere else now 😭 We've had it just coming up on a year now, and we still love it ad much as the day we bought it!! We have the metal/vacuum-seal carafe FWIW.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->>My only gripe is that it's not hot enough for milk to be added cold. What do you mean by this? You can just adjust the brew temperature. If you have the glass carafe, I'd recommend the thermal carafe - it's one of the best I've ever seen and easily keeps coffee hot for many hours. We also use this machine, though the Breville version since we are in the US, and love it.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I just got the Breville Precision a week ago. It makes amazing coffee and makes much more sense than burning through 3-4 nespresso pods a day. I’ve used it while grinding before use and the night before with the timer, both scenarios the coffee taste is great. My gripe with it is the non-removable water container.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I’ve got a breville/Sage precision brewer and it’s been great. I think it’s 5 years old now and basically like new. Gives me options if I want to be fancy but otherwise the default “gold” setting gives a good cup. My only complaint is that they only have the water track markings in ounces and I’m doing my ratios in grams per liter, so I made my own tank markings.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I’m happy with my Breville Precision Brewer, but the new Oxo 12(?) cup looks like a newer version of. Just make sure to get a stainless steel carafe vs glass whatever machine you get.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I really enjoy my Precision Brewer as well. The only downside is the drip lock not working and always dropping 1 droplet of coffee when I pull out the carafe. It vaporates quickly from the heatbed, but it's annoying having to clean it once a week. The coffee not being hot enough is a thermal carafe problem. It doesn't exist with the glass one, try buying that and turing on the keep warm in the brewer settings.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->Just as a data point, I don't like my Breville Precision Brewer at all. Huge disappointment, and far too many shortcomings for the price point imo. It replaced my Wilfa Tim Wendelboe brewer (1st gen) – I would have bought that again had it still been available in the U.S.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->I have the breville precision brewer, my mom has the grind control (the one with the built in grinder). Both are great, mine is only a few years old but he’s has been brewing daily for like 15 years
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->Lol, yeah, I suppose I was exaggerating a bit. Anyways, that’s beside the point - I don’t think it would be worth the money for OP to buy an Aiden if he has a poor quality grinder and isn’t buying good beans. That was the main thing I was trying to say. I’ve owned an Oxo 8-cup, Breville Precision and my dad owns an Aiden so I’ve tried that now too and they are absolutely fantastic, although my favorite is still a pour over. None of those would be as good without good grinders, though.
r/pourover • Is xBloom the only real pourover machine? ->
