Not sure of the current price but my 24x7 office had a bunn 12 cup with a thermos carafe that was used at least 5 times a day and lasted over 20 years. And we were on hard well water and didnt use a water filter.
I second that. I’m using a Bunn thermal carafe. It produces consistent hot water and is always ready. The brewed coffee stays hot for several hours. I bought it over 5 years ago and use only filtered water so no scale build up. Now when it dies I will replace it with a Moccamaster thermal carafe.
I have a Bunn Thermal. It's 15 years old. Same Bunn coffeemaker with a thermos pot so the coffee stays hot and doesn't burn. It makes great coffee consistently and fast.
This seems awfully fancy for “no frills”. We have a Bunn O Matic commercial that will outlive me. Only downside is that they are always on, so if you don’t put a timer on it you will use a lot of electricity. Upside is that you can even plumb in the fresh water supply if you like.
Yup. We’ve owned a restaurant Bunn for a decade. Upgraded to a glass carafe when we got it, replaced that once when it was accidentally dropped.
The only negative is it’s not great for single cups. Keep a pour over for that use.
Something to know about the big commercial brewers that I have worked with is that fresh water is pumped into the water tank as the brew is happening. The tank water is heated to 195° to 200° and held there until the operator chooses to brew coffee. The freshly pumped water cools the water in the tank, so your overall brew temp rapidly decreases. The range of temps that the coffee is exposed to during the brew process is large.
