I second this. We've been using ours for a few years now and got it exactly for the same reason as you. Very pleased with the Cuisinart and am surprised it doesn't get higher accolades.
We’ve been using these for years they last forever and make good coffee and are pretty easy to clean. https://www.cuisinart.com/14-cup-programmable-coffee-maker/DCC-3200NAS.html
My wife wanted a coffee *machine* (so nothing where she’d have to deal with pouring hot water herself) and we needed a batch brewer (to make 10+ cups at a time, and quickly) for having guests, so we landed on this [14-cup Cuisinart](https://www.cuisinart.com/14-cup-programmable-coffee-maker/DCC-3200NAS.html). I didn’t expect much, but was very impressed. Other than most batch brewers, it has a very wide shower head, which apparently does a great job saturating the grounds. When things go right, it produces a cup that’s on par with my best v60 brews. It’s fully programmable (so you can set it the night before, if you don’t mind leaving ground coffee in the basket overnight) and you can even lower the temp of the heating plate, so your coffee won’t boil away. All removable pieces (the filter basket, carafe, and lid) are dishwasher safe, and haven’t been degraded at all after being regularly subjected to the dishwasher for some 2 years now. I’ve tried a few Hoffmann-recommended hacks to improve brewing, like: * increasing the brew temp by letting the machine run with the lid open for a bit (which lets hot water dispensed through the shower head drain back into the water tank), and * blooming the coffee by keeping the carafe out of the machine at first, but none made a noticeable difference, I thought. There are two minor caveats: 1. If you grind pretty fine (which is what I find to work best for taste), the basket can overflow if you brew more than 10 cups. (This won’t make a mess on your counter, because any overflow ends up in the carafe, but it means you may get a few pieces of grounds in your coffee.) 2. The carafe doesn’t come with a funnel to adequately mix the brewed coffee. A quick stir after brewing takes care of that.
I have a Hamilton beach going on 9 years (does K cups and single ground coffee by the cup), a Cuisinart going on 20 that always makes a decent pot, a 35 year old Krupps espresso maker (these are my corded units). I have a French Press (no cord) that just keeps going. I have a bialetti (no cord) that keeps going. I have an original Aeropress -the year they came out (no cord--travel to non coffee places--think China off the grid). These work for me. keurigs break---when I got each of these I researched them at the time for returns, company track record etc.....
OP Also said top quality coffee. OP did not indicate budget I'd have to say MocaMaster or the Breville Precision Brew. I have a great coffee maker and I'll say it's likely buy it for life. It's a 22 year old Cuisinart with a toggle switch. It just keeps working, add your coffee , water and boom coffee that's tasty. Coffee makers made "today", last year, two years ago--no one can speak to the longevity--so MocaMaster's been around --probably the most well regarded machine and easy to use. Breville Precision--has a feature where you just push one button.
My Cuisinart is 22 years old, was very well regarded at the time for taste. It's still going strong.
Buying something today--right now --no one can say. Brand names with long standing reputations change over time..... I can say I have a Cuisinart drip machine that's over 20 years old. Moccamaster is well regarded still but will either of those, that I buy today be around in 20 years----don't know.
IDK--have a cuisinart that's over 20 years old. It was well regarded at the time. Just got a Moccamaster and hands down it made good coffee, better than most restaurants and cafes I frequent. I do pourovers mostly---Kalita or Hario -both units last decades.
I’ve had mine for 12 years and always recommend it
Same. This is really reliable and consistently brews a really good pot fast. We descale every few months, maybe 3x year if I’m good about it.
This is what we bought last year when our 10 year old KitchenAid was slowly dying (do not take that as an endorsement of KitchenAid lol). We love it!
I have this one. Curious how you deep clean it?
Cuisinart drip programmable coffee machine. Replaced mine last year after 23 years. Mind you, I regularly maintained it and deep cleaned every 3 months
We just replaced our programmable cuisinart coffee maker. It was our trusty machine for about 13 years before the tank cracked and it started leaking. They’re not cheap, over $200, but it grinds and brews, is sturdy, easy to clean, and all I have to buy for it is the beans.
