Aeropress coffee is simple to make and tastes really good. The problem is the plastic leaching. They make a tempered glass one now but it’s 200 bucks. I use an insulated, stainless steel French press. I grind my beans in a hand-held, burr grinder. I bought a Cuisinart auto-drip with a timer and built in burr grinder, but I wasn’t wild about it in the end. Made a few pots and wound up giving it away.

Super late to this ! I have the same Cuisinart as you mentioned for a year some months. Second time I'm having issues with the grinder - first time I cleared beans thru grinding etc to get it back to strength. But this time around doing that didn't help. I really do like the machine, just sad that it's not getting the strength it usually does. I'm going to try emptying out the grinder again, hopefully it'll fix it. Anything else I need to do?

My first Cuisinart was a Grind n Brew that we got as a wedding gift. It lasted 13 years with daily use before it stopped. I thought that track record was pretty good so I got another one. That one still works, but after about 7 years I bought a Nespresso Vertuo Next. I’m keeping the Cuisinart as backup. Can’t beat its simplicity!

Unless you just love the design it’s probably not, most good quality coffee makers will last 10 or more years of daily use. You might look at a model that has a thermal carafe so it doesn’t get cool so fast for when you are drinking coffee, bypassing the need to microwave or whatnot. I’ve used cuisinart grind and brews for over 10 years at a time, usually only the grind function quits but they have none grind versions that will probably last longer. For my most recent coffee maker I decided on a bean to cup maker and I’ve found that I absolutely love it, being able to make espresso drinks is a real game changer, but you might not be interested in that and they are more expensive.

If you only want drip coffee Moccamaster hands down. You will need something else if you want espresso or cappuccino, which is probably best case scenario. I’ve had some form of grind and brew drip coffee maker (Cuisinart, Capresso, and Breville) for over 20 years. My chief complaints for all of them was coffee temp and longevity. I am partially responsible for longevity due to inconsistency descaling. My last one was a Breville Grind and Brew. It was beginning to fail; I could no longer let it measure my beans or water. Moccamaster was on my radar because I had bought their water jug which was perfect to fill the Breville’s skinny water reservoir. I’ve now had my thermal carafe Moccamaster for 4.5 years and I LOVE it! Piping hot coffee. I have the original carafe so I can’t speak to the new glass one.

I have a Cuisinart 12-cup that’s been used almost daily for at least 12 years, maybe longer? Got it as a work anniversary gift from the company points program. In contrast, my mom went through three Mr. Coffee 4-cup makers in that same amount of time.
