I got rid of machines and went with the Hario V60 Ceramic coffee dripper. I like the bold flavors a full immersion setup brings out in the coffee.
You can prep most of it for v60. Just do the pouring part - 2 minutes. And less cleaning. And better coffee.
I love my Hario and Kalita wave pour overs. Come in various sizes depending how much you want to make from a pot to a cup. I almost never use my Technivorm anymore because I really don't like consuming things heated around plastic or with water sitting in plastic
You could consider the esp pro, it would probably make your life easier, when switching regularly between drip and espresso. If that’s out of budget, maybe use a v60 for a bit, before getting the moccamaster. Otherwise, really good choices.
Get a pour over or two... the V60 by HARIO is perfection, under $20 even for a nice one.Pour Over Coffee Maker Set – V60 Drip Coffee Pot with Walnut Handle, Glass Coffee Dripper & 100 Filters, 20oz/600ml Capacity Invest in a gooseneck electric kettle. Get a simple scale, for example "BAGAIL BASICS Coffee Scale with Timer, 0.1g High Precision Kitchen Scale". Pick one, they are almost all the same. Start there. If you like "drip" coffee you will love pour over. Grinder? Do you have a grinder? Pour over is more fine than drip, less than espresso.
