Technivorm machines have built their appeal by longevity through simplicity. They look unique and a bit retro quirky and they (mostly) just work. Pricing is a bit steep for what you get. What drove me away was their customer service. My heating element died after 3 years and i was inquiring for a replacement. The official rep told me they can‘t sell me a replacement part and i ‚should try my luck on eBay‘. That‘s where the magic ended for me and instead of trying my luck with some 90€ part from eBay that may or may not work i have a quite similar Melitta One for a bit more than that now for 3 years and never looked back. Ymmv.

I have the Melitta One and it's fine. Not as good as a pour over, but perfectly adequate. That being said I got a good deal on it. Not sure I'd pay list price.

Ah right. Got it. I myself own a Melitta One. This is by looks comparable with the moccamaster.  It has an adjustable flow for small batches.  This machine is certified by the European Coffee brewing Center in Oslo.  They also have a thermal version, which I unfortunately don’t own.  One therm SST 1030-11

I had a Melitta all in one up to about 2012 when I got my first Jura. Before that I had a manual Melitta pour over. I loved it. I’m sure they’ve gotten better over the years. Edit: Yes they have. They’re on sale for about $275 at Kohl’s.

Melitta used to make a grind and brew that had a timer on it. I had it set to do its thing at 8:05am before I came to the office. They no longer make it. Cuisinart may be your best bet now as you just want fresh ground/brewed coffee. They all make a pot, and you do have to add water the night before and you can get what you want for $100 bucks or so. Throw out what you don’t drink. Otherwise you sound like a Keurig sort of person. Certainly not needing to spend the big $$ on a semi or super auto.

I went from a 30+ year old Melita drip and French press to a Moccamaster. While the coffee is better, so are the coffee grounds due to a far superior grinder that I also purchased. The Moccamaster is a beautiful machine that my wife and I enjoy daily. Small price to pay.
