I’ve had the cheapest, simplest Mr Coffee one button coffee maker for 14 years now. It works as it should, it’s lasted a long time, it was like 20 dollars. Looks like it’s still between $22-$30. Probably can’t go wrong with any one button/switch 12 cup brewer but the cheap option is genuinely a good option. Ninja, OXO, plenty of other decent names. She definitely doesn’t need a $230 moccamaster if she isn’t already grinding fresh beans and worried about specific water temp and optimal extraction.

You really can't beat a good simple Mr. Coffee. I currently have a [Ninja](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-12-Cup-Programmable-Coffee-Maker-Glass-Carafe-Stainless-Steel-CE250/997508948?wl13=1955&selectedSellerId=0&wmlspartner=wlpa) it has a dial for how much coffee you want and 2 buttons to make it run,

I've been using the Mr Coffee 12 cup non-programmable coffeemakers from either Walmart or Target for like 40 years. They last abt 15 yrs and are so cheap (like $22). They make a giant pot of coffee in 5 minutes. I've purchased fancier coffee makers and expresso machines over the yrs. They end up in the back of the cabinet and eventually in the trash or Goodwill. I just don't have time for that in the am. I just want my high quality creamer and a hot cup of quality coffee fast.

I used a Mr Coffee 12 cup for years and it broke on me the other day. I ended up buying a Ninja Dual Brew for $100. It’s awesome, I love it. You can make a full pot of coffee or you can use the single cup function (Keurig style). I bought a reusable k cup so I’m not wasting plastic and I can use my own fancy beans. I mostly make one cup at a time - it brews the coffee so fast and it’s so good! You can also just have it brew hot water for tea super fast.

We have had the absolute cheapest Mr Coffee drip 12 cup pot for 7+ years. I keep saying I’m going to upgrade us to something fancier when it breaks, but it’s too simple to break!

A classic drip coffee maker like the Mr Coffee 12-Cup or Technivorm Moccamaster, both simple, one-button, no-frills, and make excellent black coffee that’ll last for years.

It makes really weak coffee. I had one for 5 years and switched to the OXO (suggested right below this). I was shocked at the quality difference.

Depends on your budget, really. I gave a multi-function Ninja one to the weddings I was invited to one year, every one of them got lots of thanks. I also have a Mr. Coffee plain-ass drip machine that cost $12 and has lasted longer than one of my used cars.
