We love our Ninja coffee maker. It's a workhorse. We went through 3 Keurigs in three years.

I’ve been using the same ninja coffee maker for 8 years. I liked it so much it put me on to a lot of other ninja products.

Ninja makes a dual system that can do pods and drip. I use it in mine and no one has ever complained. Most people that stay at my place use the pods though. I left the stickers on it that tell you how to switch between the two different methods and the instruction manual.

As a long time guest, I appreciate a solid drip machine because it lets me choose exactly whatever coffee I want to put in it, and how strong. I do notice the host going an extra mile when I see they have a Ninja drip machine, but not necessary. Also, if you do go drip, I’ve been a bit frustrated when there’s no grinder for the coffee that I brought

I found Ninja DualBrew at Costco once. Its great. Does any go the following: pods, ground, hot, cold w/ nine brew sizes of small cup to full carafe.

My girlfriend just got us one! Prior to this, we had both a Ninja and a Delonghi die on us. This feels SOLID, and very repairable in comparison.

Their drip coffee machines last about a year or two before breaking. Seems consistent across my whole family (like 10 broken ninja coffee makers). Wouldn’t doubt that this product will be the same.

Ninja DualBrew Pro because it Works with both coffee grounds and pods, has a built-in water filter, and includes a fold-away frother for specialty drinks.

I went through 2 Keurigs before I got the Ninja Dual Brew. I've had it for almost 3 years and I love it. Never had any problems, (except I did have to order a replacement carafe since my gigantic Maine Coon decided to push it off the counter.) We use pods for individual cups, but you can brew individual cups, travel mugs, etc., using ground coffee. I even throw a teabag in a cup and use the pod brewer (without a pod) and you get a nice cup of hot tea. For coffee, I do prefer paper filters, and we use bottled water (from 5 gallon jugs) in the reservoir. I clean the unit with vinegar & water about once a month. If it ever dies on me, I'll definitely buy another!

We have had one for about two years now and love it. We only rarely use the k-cups, but mostly just brew single cups/mugs and the occasional pot. Works great.

I love it. I got it for a wedding present and we use it daily. I think there was a slight learning curve on the number of cups and how many scoops of coffee, buts worked out.

Yeah, that’s the one. We went back to the store to buy it, but they didn’t have it, so we ordered online. After 3 days, so far so good.

I just bought the dual brew and realized it does not have a replaceable charcoal filter like most other K cup makers. Confirmed with Ninja support that the machine does not filter water prior to brewing. I found this odd; am I the only one?

Love my Ninja Duo brew pro. Something I haven't seen with another option is that you shift the water tank to have on the side or back.

I love my ninja coffee maker. It has settings for a single cup, a thermos, a half carafe (which is about two mid sized mugs) and then a full carafe It also has features to make an espresso, and a slightly stronger cup for either "rich" or "over ice" I've had the machine for almost a decade and I've been so happy with it

My Ninja coffee maker has the ability to make single cups (without pods), through full pots. Daily I make a half carafe which yields about 3 cups.

I have a Ninja coffee maker that can brew either a pot or a single cup. No pods, just regular ground coffee. I also have a single serve french press that I use sometimes. There’s no coffee better than french press coffee imo, but it takes a little longer and I’m impatient in the morning. I don’t like Keurig. I’ve tried so many different types of k-cups and it just doesn’t taste good to me.

Definitely the Ninja dual brew from Costco, only $90 this month, excellent cup of coffee, can do single, pot, pods, iced coffee, etc. Many of the comments here are essentially about the same coffee maker.

I love my ninja dual brew pro. I use the k cup setting with cometeer pods, and it has the option to make a full carafe or a single cup with beans. Also has a separate water line for tea and a milk frother. I find it makes very good drip coffee that fits my needs, but reading about the Fellow Aiden also has me intrigued

The Ninja's great for the money. Refurbs go for about $70 regularly and it's built like a tank. For the value it's hard to beat. At 3-5x the $ there are better drip coffee makers, but for folks that want BIL and don't have tons of disposable income I think the Ninja's awesome.

I used to think my Mr Coffee was just fine.  Then it finally broke and I, having just read a Wirecutter breakdown of drip coffee makers, got a Ninja. I made a pot with the same canister of coffee and I swear it was 50% better. It's got all the things you're looking for and runs about $75.

I have a ninja and I'm very happy with it. Not sure if it's a BIFL really but I've had mine 5 years and no issues. Alot of the parts separate for easy cleaning.

We have a Ninja and I can't imagine it being even easier to make a fresh cup of drip coffee. And it's 1/3 the cost of what OP is thinking they need to spend on the Moccamaster. Plus, with the reusable filter it will pay for itself in just a few ***months*** compared to the Nespresso pods OP has to buy.

This was going to be my recommendation too. I have the same kind of thing from Cuisinart. Ninja also makes one. But with any kind of "dual brew" system, people can use pods if they want (and many people travel with their own), or they can brew a full pot if they want.

Honestly? Something like a Cuisinart or Breville or Ninja is just fine for her. A Moccamaster or an Aiden are absurd, terrible recommendations for someone who doesn't care that much about coffee, lol. That's like buying a Pappy Van Winkle for someone who only drinks Bud Light, or a Traeger for a vegetarian. If they aren't into coffee, they're not gonna care about "SCA certified" or any of that quality stuff. In fact, they probably care more about how it looks, how fast it brews coffee, and maybe some of the other bells and whistles attached like a programmable timer. Don't spend money on something that's purely built for quality coffee; spend on the features instead.

We love our Ninja. It's got a standard drip brewer, plus K-cup and Nespresso pod brewing. It's been rock solid. Actually we've got several Ninja appliances and they've generally been great, and long-lasting.
