Short-term use review. Got this on Thursday and brewed coffee on Saturday and Sunday. Obviously can’t comment on longevity, but it’s a great brewer (used the bloom option both times) and the thermal pot was a happy accident. Had I been able to select the pot, I probably would have erroneously selected glass - but the thermal pot is wonderful and convenient. We finished the pot with a few refills in about 1-hr and each time the coffee was hot and steaming when we poured it. The manual states it will stay hot for 2-2.5 and will update here if we ever let it sit that long. I read comments about temp and although I can’t confirm if the shower drip is in the 190+ range consistently (manufacturer says 195-205), after brewing and sitting in the pot for about 5-min, I poured a cup and stuck a meat thermometer in my cup and the temp was 174.5. With some heat loss from brew to thermos to cup, I’d expect it’s brewing hot (enough?). When I was shopping around, these weren’t even available on the Simply Good website - sold out - and the thermal pot model was about $60 less at Costco. Best price (at my time of purchase) and makes delicious coffee!

I have both. The Moccamaster is absolutely better made, and has a physical switch that allows you to plug it into a wall timer to automate. This has a push button start so you always have to manually turn it on. However, it has a bloom function that the Moccamaster doesn’t have. I prefer the MM, but I was able to get this for $99 (glass version) when they were first offered and it makes a great backup/second maker.

I have that model. I’ve been using it for about four months now. So far it works great. The coffee gets hot and stays hot for at least a few hours in the thermal carafe. The bloom feature is nice. Otherwise, it’s very basic - no clock, no programming, etc. But for me it produces great coffee so I’ve been happy with it.

This one did not have an SCA certification when I received it. They may have added it since then. I never checked. But it does hold the brew temp much better than my old Keurig machine and the bloom feature helps to open up the aroma in the coffee before beginning the brew process.

The plastic is a bit thin. I think that’s why it cost so much less than a Moccamaster. But so far it’s been fine.

Returning mine as well. Not worth the price, and I don’t feel the company is very good. They’re much more responsive to comments on their Instagram posts, so try that. They’ll probably delete them, but worth a shot. Good luck!

It’s a fine machine. Just not a $400 machine, imo. But if it’s worth it to you, then rock on ☕️❤️

I also think the handle sucks. Partially because it’s flat on the inside of the handle, and rounded on the outside. And I feel it should be the opposite: rounded on the inside to match your fingers wrapping, and flat on the outside where your thumb presses against. Plus the glass carafe feels very thin to me, but that’s just my layman regular Joe opinion.

How's the build quality on yours? I got mine a few days ago and I'm a little disappointed. The mixer arm on the carafe lid is bent, the main body doesn't sit quite upright and leans toward the carafe, and the showerhead intake is mounted crooked as well. Also the glass carafe feels very thin, like it could crack at any moment. Overall, it definitely doesn't feel like a $480 product, it doesn't feel very "premium" at all. The coffee tastes fine, but I'm no coffee snob and mainly just trying to get away from plastics.

Yeah, I do. It’s fine, but doesn’t feel like $400 of value to me. Plus there’s some lame warranty card that says you have to join their $10/month coffee club to get the extended 5 year warranty, which is so, so lame. I’m likely going to return it.

We've had our simply good machine for a month and it's been awesome. Before that we used a large insulated French press, but it was a pain to clean of course. Edited to add: it took over 6 months to arrive after ordering (we knew it was presale but they've been having major stock issues)
