That's my issue too. I don't understand why no one has made a coffee machine with glass parts and minimal plastic. When my wilfa drip machine dies I'm going to strip it down and see if I can swap out the plastic parts.

Glass for the reservoir, make the filter coffee holder into a porcelain or glass pour over yoke that isn't attached to the body and sits on the jug. Or have it held by wires that warm it up so it doesn't shock the coffee when the machine starts and you get consistently warm water running through the coffee. And swap out the plastic sprinkler for metal. I've thought about this a lot.

r/JamesHoffmannBest coffee machine that actually lasts? Tired of cheap machines breaking in 2026.

I have almost every SCA certified coffee maker,(weird I know) resulting from marketplace deals, flea markets, yard sales , ebay etc. Didnt start out that way but after retirement I married a coffee connoisseur lol like myself and money being no object I have to say the Wolf, Moccamaster,Aarke,Wilfa, and Breville Precision brew are my favs. OP would do well with a Ninja dual brew pro with his price point IMHO.

r/JamesHoffmannWhat makes the Technivorm Moccamaster so good ? Is it really that good ?

It’s pretty much bulletproof, but if you manage to break anything on it, you can get spares and it is repairable. I had couple Wilfas and they do make IMHO slightly better tasting coffee, but they all seem to have issues with the pump. My MM has now lasted the same amount of time than three wilfa brewers.

r/pouroverBest option to accomplish clever switch immersion brew with coffee machine.

I switched from pour over to this machine a few months ago and am extremely happy with it. The coffee is excellent and I wouldn’t switch back. Consistency is great with this machine, also makes a really good cup. Ease of use is great too. It’s nice having a free pair of hands to do other things while it’s brewing. Notably though, I don’t use the heating element. We drink what we make and don’t leave any behind to “stay warm” Edit- didn’t see this had an insulated carafe, mine is glass.here is my setup, with our fav coffee. https://preview.redd.it/tea3s1qvx1qe1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d207767dd2bbddfbf4b8fcc57b6a5756cfc75d6
