I was quite happy with my [wilfa](https://www.cremashop.dk/en/products/wilfa/wsp-2a/3003?cc=DK_DKK&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PerformanceMaxDK_LM&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21638212753&gbraid=0AAAAAqda6lafb6mceZe4ZBdxqKfl8q4t_&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8cHABhC-ARIsAJnY12xoNN-fkk3Izm8g6FBeu1xZBUnGPLP_V_ifZe5aBTjtUoeJzWiwfTAaAt7GEALw_wcB) - but now I brew v60 always which I find is easier and better.
I have the precision model which I loved using until I got into espresso and now hardly drink pour-over anymore. Wilfa are built well and designed with Tim Wendelboe so they have great pedigree. I’m sure you’ll be super happy with it !
I’m enjoying my Wilfa Svart Precision. It feels wasteful to use a big filter to make a single cup sometimes, but works like a charm. If brewing under 16 oz you can also close the diopter and brew full immersion like a clever or switch.
Wilfa precision has a removable water tank but will use all the water on each brew. Feels wasteful to use a filter for one cup, but I do it all the time. The basket has a flow control valve (iris?) to change the flow rate for different brews. The coffee basket will comfortably hold 1-2 cups of water, so you can also do immersion brews like a switch.
I still make smaller pourovers (“small” for me is 450ml to 27g dose), but I use a wilfa precision for my first 2 coffees of the day. I can (and still do) get better cups on my Pulsar or V60, but it’s not that far off.
That's my issue too. I don't understand why no one has made a coffee machine with glass parts and minimal plastic. When my wilfa drip machine dies I'm going to strip it down and see if I can swap out the plastic parts.
Glass for the reservoir, make the filter coffee holder into a porcelain or glass pour over yoke that isn't attached to the body and sits on the jug. Or have it held by wires that warm it up so it doesn't shock the coffee when the machine starts and you get consistently warm water running through the coffee. And swap out the plastic sprinkler for metal. I've thought about this a lot.
I have almost every SCA certified coffee maker,(weird I know) resulting from marketplace deals, flea markets, yard sales , ebay etc. Didnt start out that way but after retirement I married a coffee connoisseur lol like myself and money being no object I have to say the Wolf, Moccamaster,Aarke,Wilfa, and Breville Precision brew are my favs. OP would do well with a Ninja dual brew pro with his price point IMHO.
It’s pretty much bulletproof, but if you manage to break anything on it, you can get spares and it is repairable. I had couple Wilfas and they do make IMHO slightly better tasting coffee, but they all seem to have issues with the pump. My MM has now lasted the same amount of time than three wilfa brewers.
I switched from pour over to this machine a few months ago and am extremely happy with it. The coffee is excellent and I wouldn’t switch back. Consistency is great with this machine, also makes a really good cup. Ease of use is great too. It’s nice having a free pair of hands to do other things while it’s brewing. Notably though, I don’t use the heating element. We drink what we make and don’t leave any behind to “stay warm” Edit- didn’t see this had an insulated carafe, mine is glass.here is my setup, with our fav coffee. https://preview.redd.it/tea3s1qvx1qe1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d207767dd2bbddfbf4b8fcc57b6a5756cfc75d6
