I've had the EC-YGC120 for going on 6 years without issue. Great machine. This is a great price. Spend the difference on a washable basket filter and glass carafe.

There are some coffee makers that are not SCA certified that come close or pretty much meet the specs. Like the Ninja 12-Cup, or the Zojirushi 5-cup and 12-cup options. However, I agree, the rest mostly not great because they don't get hot enough.

I have a Zojirushi 12 cup, and have had it for almost 10 years now. Still brews at a high temp, and works the way it did when I bought it. I love the idea of the Moccamaster but we use the program feature daily and Moccamaster does not have that. The design is user friendly and pretty easy to clean. I only have had to replace the carafe because I smashed it, but the replacement part was easy to get so no problem.

Zojirushi makes the best drip coffee & you can replace individual parts if needed. Have had mine since 2017 and its still going strong. Timer options so it brews automatically in the morning is also helpful so you can just get up and go without worrying about making it in the morning.

That’s the only reason we stopped using this exact item. It’s a tank and I loved the auto-start feature, but I just can’t do the plastic anymore 😭

I have the exact same model, mine sprung a leak in the heating element after two years. I’m not impressed.

My Zojirushi is a beast. Not one issue in 5 years of daily use.

Have the same one, can’t recommend it enough. Especially if you need your coffee to start before you wake up.

Holy shit.  I just bought one at full price after a painful research project.  I fucking love it.  I am jealous of your price.

So far so good.  I thought it was funny in their video they went on about how good the pour was from the carafe.  Then I used it and was like damn that is a good pour.  It makes good coffee.  The removable water container is the best part.

Check out the zojirushi one. It's got most of the same features for less money. The moccamaster one is better, but given you aren't using it all the time, I'd save the cash. Edit: they don't seem to sell the model I have anymore, the one that competes with the moccamaster is now $200.. I paid $100 for an older model that was the competitor at the time and it's been great.

I have a Zojirushi because that's what I could get in 2020 (that was a weird time) but I think if it died I'd be looking at a Moccamaster or a Behmor Brazen. To me a good thermal carafe is important as my usual use is I make a full pot on a weekend morning and drink it over several hours.

I have had my zojirushi drip coffee machine for close to a decade. It's still going strong. Zero issues. But if I do need to replace a gasket or the carafe or really any part, they sell replacement parts for a reasonable price. Insulated carafe, no paper filters needed. Looks like something out of a 90s Tokyo kitchen though.
