Zojirushi EC-YTC100XB. The only units better are the Mochamasters.
r/JamesHoffmann • What’s the Best Drip Coffee Maker to Buy Right Now? ->We, too, were unimpressed with the Moccamaster, especially given its price. After trying it for a week after our old Zojirushi coffee maker died, we ended up going back to a Zojirushi and bought the EC-YTC100XB. It’s been running great for 7 years. Has an insulated vacuum carafe, water comes out of the head at a consistent 190 degrees, and has a timer. It’s less than $200. The drip coffee out of this tastes as good as a pour over.
r/BuyItForLife • [deleted by user] ->Came here to suggest this exact Zojirushi! We’ve had ours for almost 9 years now and it’s still going strong. Love the auto brew setting, which we use every morning. Cannot recommend it enough.
r/BuyItForLife • [deleted by user] ->I recently had to replace my coffee maker. The selections I went through leave me convinced that you're not going to find anything worthwhile under $300. I'm talking the simplest of requirements like programmable and actually brews coffee at the programmed time. Doesn't overflow. Lets you use a paper filter. I don't need a "gold star standard" cup of coffee. Who are they to tell me what my coffee should taste like? I don't need a sensor to tell me my water level is correct or that my carafe is in the appropriate place, I have eyes. I ended up with a 10-cup Zojirushi with a stainless steel carafe that I got for under $300 during a sale on Amazon. It's not a 12-cup like I wanted. It doesn't like paper filters. It doesn't have a lit display and doesn't display the time when the timed brew is programmed. It does everything else well, and I'm tired of dealing with the poor selection out there. The only models that ticked all my boxes were $500, and there's no guarantee they're going to last long enough to justify the elevated cost.
r/Coffee • I’m done with Cuisinart ->I never hear anyone else mention it, but I absolutely love my Zojirushi coffee maker. It’s a 10-cup brewer, with a really good thermal carafe. Keeps my coffee warm for hours without a hot plate. Zojirushi started as a thermal carafe company, and the quality of the carafe really shows. It’s not SCA certified, but I’ve temped the water exiting the shower head and it’s between 195-200, and it has a bloom phase. Also has a timer, which is why I bought it over a moccamaster (occasionally I want to prep the night before when I know it’ll be a busy morning, and a timer means it’s waiting on me when I wake up. Kinda sounds like an ad I admit, but I’m just a dude who’s owned half a dozen coffee makers over the years, and I really like the Zojirushi I’ve got now. No one else ever mentions it and it kinda bugs me. It’s this one: Zojirushi EC-YTC100XB
r/JamesHoffmann • Best coffee maker machine - what's your top choice for home today? ->I have the 10-cup thermal carafe Zojirushi and its awesome. While not SCA certified, the coffee coming out of the shower head is in the correct temperature range, and it has a bloom phase. The thermal carafe is very well made. I bought it because I needed a 10-cup capacity brewer with a timer and thermal carafe / no hot plate.
r/JamesHoffmann • What would be the best drip coffee machine? ->[Exactly what you’re looking for.](https://shop.zojirushi.com/products/ecytc) Thermal carafe, programmable, removable water tank and it’s not the size of a dishwasher. Plus it’s made by Zojirushi which is well know to make quality products. Descale with 2tbl citric acid to 1L water every 6 months and clean the carafe with Cafiza or oxyclean “free” as well.
r/BuyItForLife • Can anyone recommend a programmable, smaller footprint, easy to use and clean coffee maker? ->I swear by my zojirushi drip coffee maker. Thermal carafe that keeps coffee hot all day & can set a timer to start whenever you want. I prep everything the night before and have it start at 5am. https://shop.zojirushi.com/products/ecytc
r/BuyItForLife • What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market? ->I have a Zojirushi with a thermal carafe. I wasn't quite ready to take the price plunge on the Moccamaster, but am very happy with it!
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->If you're not ready to splurge on the Moccamaster, I have a Zojirushi that I love. I have the thermal carafe model and paid around $100 for it (using a good coupon) at Kohl's.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for a BIFL coffee maker! ->That’s the only reason we stopped using this exact item. It’s a tank and I loved the auto-start feature, but I just can’t do the plastic anymore 😭
r/BuyItForLife • Zojirushi Coffee Maker ->I have a Zojirushi and my dad has the Mochamaster. Both make great coffee. But my Zoji has a crack in the carafe and it costs almost as much to replace as to buy a new one. For some reason that really rubs me wrong.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->Love my Zojirushi.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->I have the exact same model, mine sprung a leak in the heating element after two years. I’m not impressed.
r/BuyItForLife • Zojirushi Coffee Maker ->Holy shit. I just bought one at full price after a painful research project. I fucking love it. I am jealous of your price.
r/BuyItForLife • Zojirushi Coffee Maker ->So far so good. I thought it was funny in their video they went on about how good the pour was from the carafe. Then I used it and was like damn that is a good pour. It makes good coffee. The removable water container is the best part.
r/BuyItForLife • Zojirushi Coffee Maker ->I have that exact machine. $25 is a steal- you did well, as I ❤️ my zojirushi!
r/BuyItForLife • Zojirushi Coffee Maker ->Also very pleased with our Zoji. Very good coffee, and seems better made than most auto drips.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for a BIFL coffee maker! ->I, and the friend I sold on it, both got about 4 years out of zojirushi drip machines. Thermal carafes were great though. This was 10-15 years ago, not this model. Hope your experience is better than mine.
r/BuyItForLife • Can anyone recommend a programmable, smaller footprint, easy to use and clean coffee maker? ->I don't have the Moccamaster but I have a Zojirushi, and will probably replace it with the Moccamaster. The biggest difference for me after having used many coffee makers over the years is brew temp. Cheap machines either start out with a low temp or degrade rapidly. You need a high brew temp to brew good coffee. There are people out there swearing by their 10 year old Mr Coffee but I'm sure their coffee is less-than-good and they're ok with that. Better machines will keep brewing at high temps for longer. If you care about good coffee, then you'd be replacing the cheap machines every couple years and it's more economical to just get a good machine like Moccamaster to start.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->Me too, I've had it for about 6 years now and it's still making great coffee daily.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->Love my Zojirushi as well. It's held up wonderfully with daily use for several years. Lasted much longer than previous machines.
r/BuyItForLife • Is the Moccamaster actually worth the cost? ->They make a great product and it will last forever.
