"The obstacle avoidance though looks like a massive improvement and maybe worth the upgrade just for that."
"If you want collision-avoidance sensors the Mini4 Pro or Mini3 Pro are best in the sub-250g realm."
"Mini 3 pro will get you obsticle sensors which are great"

"Mini 3 Pro has been amazing in very turbulent winds. ... And the video (where you would expect to see the wind impacts) ends up being smooth as silk"
"the wind resistance on the 5 is great"
"My Mini 3 Pro can easily handle 20 knot winds. ... There's a lot of YouTube vids testing it in much higher wind: ... That said I always switch up to my Mavic 3 Pro when filming kiteboards and high wind stuff, but the Minis handle it surprisingly well."

"Flying on vacation/travels only, so that sub 250 grams is really important for me as well."
"the Mini is good enough to print large so that's what I use most of the time because it's easier to carry"
"the mini is just easy to on carry all the time and get more us out of it."

"for now this 3 pro quality is better than any other video footage I take with camcorder, iphone pro max or Gopro."
"The camera on my Mini 3 Pro is good enough to take photos that I've enlarged and hung on my wall, not to mention sold. ... Low-light performance is decent enough for the light levels I fly in (never darker than twilight)."
"I've printed shots from my Mini 3 Pro 4' wide and you can't tell them from shots from my Nikon D800."

"Worse than that, it drains the battery really fast if you are holding position or flying into the wind. ... Even with the + battery, you might get 40 minutes flying with the wind and 11 minutes flying home against the wind meaning you probably won't make it."
"the M3P worked good but the wind at times was a bit concerning. ... Couple shoots had my anxiety thru the roof."
"Light winds blow my Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro around like leaves above 15-20 mph or so."

"I love the Mini 3 Pro but the A3S is ALOT of fun to fly. I enjoy it more especially in windy environments which is fairly often where I live in. Feel more comfortable and confident in these conditions not based on sensors and LiDAR and what not but knowing how much more stable it is in gusts and how quickly it can correct and move not just forward to a targeted flying area but also if I need to correct any drifting or whatever."

"They told me flat out that they can't get replacement parts, so they didn't even bother having me send my Mini 3 Pro in. That was in June."

"Just hoping for proper D-Log. Until then using HLG on most DJI cameras since it can also be color managed properly. ... D-Log M is proprietary and flat Rec709, no real log gamma, tiny Bt709 color space."
"Color temp and grading is hard on the Mini 3 as it can only output x265 ... It only outputs compressed mp4 files, which limits the color grading and adjustments you can do to video."
"no D-LogM"

"Even the Mini 3 Pro, if you could get it connected to goggles won't fly in Manual mode."
"Mini 3 won't connect to goggles either. ... Even the Mini 3 Pro, if you could get it connected to goggles won't fly in Manual mode."
Absolutely, I have a Mini 3 Pro and my pictures and videos are poorly framed bilge. I'll probably buy a Mini 5 Pro, but my output will remain as amateur bullshit 😆 I just like gadgets, especially flying ones.
r/dji • Mini 4 Pro vs Mini 5 Pro camera size side by side comparison. This is crazy. ->I’ve got the mini 3 pro. Happy with it. One other difference between the mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro is the 4 returns full HD 1080 back to the RC unit while the mini 3 pro returns low res images back to the RC unit.
r/dji • what dji drone to get? ->I bought the mini 3 pro, no regrets. Been flying it for 3 years now and it’s still just fantastic in 4K 60 fps. I think the Pro version gives you the right amount of features for safety and awareness in flight.
r/dji • What is the best beginner drone? ->I flew my first Mini 3 pro into the lake. I believe it’s still worth it to get the mini 4 pro.
r/dji • What are the best BEGINNER drones for those getting into this passion? ->Mirror calm surface, super clear water, the sensors looking down looked right past the surface.
r/dji • What are the best BEGINNER drones for those getting into this passion? ->Without the sensors “seeing” the surface, the warning height information at the bottom of the screen is not shown, and the surface is disorienting to look at also.
r/dji • What are the best BEGINNER drones for those getting into this passion? ->100% my fault, and an expensive lesson learned.
r/dji • What are the best BEGINNER drones for those getting into this passion? ->I started with the mini 3 pro, and still fly it. It’s been just great! Mini 4 pro might be the only option anymore, but the design is the same. I bought a total of 6 of the regular batteries which has been great also. Just get the 3 at a time charger from DJI, it saves tons of time.
r/dji • Which DJI drone would you suggest for beginners? ->If you want collision-avoidance sensors the Mini4 Pro or Mini3 Pro are best in the sub-250g realm. Otherwise the Mini4k is a great value. Before 2025 tariffs went into effect, they could be found at around $250. I paid $430 for my Mini2 4 years ago. Essentially the same drone. I love my Mini2 (not the SE). I have taken it to Europe and UK 3 times now.
r/dji • Best drone for me? ->Since the Mini 3 Pro. Just hoping for proper D-Log. Until then using HLG on most DJI cameras since it can also be color managed properly.
r/dji • Its out! ->I expect it to trickle down to the Air series first. Reason why I prefer the Mini Pro series: I can fly it basically everywhere.
r/dji • Its out! ->I already have the 1-inch sensor on my Air 2S, but I end up using the Mini 3 Pro more — it’s discreet and attracts less Karens than the louder Air 2S. The upgraded sensor alone sells me.
r/dji • Mini 4 Pro vs Mini 5 Pro camera size side by side comparison. This is crazy. ->just bought a mini 3 pro for $560 (USD) in marketplace FB
r/dji • Best affordable beginner DJI? ->''nausea and vertigo from VR headsets.'' me to i get heavy sick from PC vr headsets!! but with the Avata I DONT. That was also something i was scarred about, but i tried it and i wont get sick from that headset. I also have a mini 3 pro ! they are great! and camera wise extremly good!! Easy to use to! You just need to watch out when flying sideways (you can crash into things), otherwise its very easy. I would not recommend the NEO. So if you ask me is the mini 3 a good deal? yeah it is! Like i said i got the pro version. But i THINK the pro version comes only with some more sensors (for following, tracking and obstacle avoidance). But you have to check that one out if the camera is the same. The NEO has worse camera though! I got the controller were you need to use the phone. That works great, but if you can i would suggest go with the inscreen build one. Sorry for my bad english though :)!
r/dji • What drone should I get? ->No i own now a mini 3 pro, an avata 2 and i did own other ones. But not an flip.
r/dji • Is the mini 4k really worth the price? ->Would be great if the flip had the omnidirectional sensors. I am waiting for a ''sports'' drone of the dji, A neo/flip that can actually follow you. I have a mini 3 pro and a avata 2 but, i am looking for a drone that can be used whitout a controller like the neo or flip but also can follow you! And i mean, it does needs to read the surroundering.
r/dji • DJI’s Aerial Photography lineup compared ->If you want accurate maps, you need the Mavic 3 enterprise with it's mechanical shutter. For basic mapping for fun, you can go as low as a Mini 3 pro, but the rolling shutter will reduce accuracy and resolution. I work with the Mavic 3 Enterprise with RTK at work, and does incredibly accurate and detailed maps, but really no better than my old personal Phantom 4 Pro I have at home. With RTK and GCP's you can get accuracy within a cm or two. I'm trying trying to get our non-profit to get a Matrice 350 RTK with all the goodies to increase functionality as the Mavic 3E is great for maps, but not much else.
r/UAVmapping • What does DJI Phantom 4 PRO reaching end-of-life mean for photogrammtery? ->If you find a mini 2 to start with it's a nice drone, I started with it and now I've moved on to the mini 3 pro.
r/dji • Best beginner drone ->If I was in your shoes I’d agree I got the mini 3 pro I think it be worth it for me . But if only upgrade if I sell mine and then use that money towards the upgrade
r/dji • Now that we've all seen actual footage of the Mini 5 Pro's camera, is it really that big of an improvement? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
