Love the SkyRover X1 and fly it almost everyday!!!
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->There's one. The Skyrover X1 on Amazon is almost an exact clone of the Mini 4 Pro, right down to the software. The word is that it's actually made by DJI under a different name to get around the issue. I got one and have used it 3 times now and I can tell you it's EXACTLY like flying the Mini Pro series.
r/dji • Brimming with resentment ->Why would anyone hate? Skyrover X1 is a great drone. I bought one for my father-in-law several weeks ago (I own a M4P). It's literally 98% the same. Flies great, lots of features. Camera is just as good as my M4P. Happy flying!
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->Bought one a couple of weeks ago. 8 or 10 flights as far as 1 mile and 400 ft altitude. Response to the controller is impressive. RTH is always within 6” of take off placement with 75% being within 2”. photo/video quality as good as any Action camera I have owned or better, in fact. Object avoidance is flawless. Whether set to stop or bypass obstacles, it just does what it is advertised to do. Stuck some yellow Master Airscrew props on. Easier to see in flight and maybe a bit quieter. The versions for the DJI Mini 4 Pro fit just fine, big surprise.😁
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->Because of the unavailability of DJI drones in the U.S., I decided to try the Skyrover X1. Coming from flying the Marice 100, the Phantom series, and the Mavic 2 Pro, I was a bit skeptical, but hopeful given the positive reviews. I had never held a DJI mini drone, so when I opened the Skyrover box and held it in hand, I thought "damn, this is just a cheap plastic toy." But that thought was quickly dispelled after the first test flight. Smooth controls with no adjustments to gain or expo, much quieter than my other drones, and great range. The video quality is excellent. Overall, definitely worth the purchase. The one thing I hope they make available are ND filters. Paid around $800. for the fly more combo and it arrived from Malaysia 6 days after ordering. No customs hang ups or hidden import charges.
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->When you turn it on it does “tandandan”. It’s for sure a DJI
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->Hopefully I don’t catch too much heat for this. But sharing info on the Skyrover X1. Many of the reviews I’ve seen indicate it’s a knockoff DJI Mini 4 Pro. I really wanted a DJI M4P but with bans, scarcity, etc I decided to take a gamble on the X1. This is my first ever drone & my thought process is after getting some flight time under my belt the bans may ease off and I would be a buyer for a future M5P or M6P depending how long the X1 serves me. I placed my order on 8/21 with Amazon. Cost was $763. Order shipped from Malaysia on 8/25. Made it to US and delivered to my house by 8/27 @ 13:35. Kudos to FedEx for being fast! Boxing was good but nothing extraordinary. Visually things look good. I haven’t gotten it charged and any flight time yet. I noticed the cable from the controller to your phone is directional as there is a small symbol with a controller to note which end goes in the controller. Also I question how long that cable will work without problems as it seems bent in a weird spot. I have the larger iPhone 15 Plus Pro and it barely fits with the case on. I wish their fly more pack had a RC2 type controller. Being my first drone I have no comparison but it is smaller, lighter & more “plasticy” than I envisioned. I will get a better sense of the toughness once I’m able to fly it.
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->Been getting some flight time this weekend. Very impressed & happy with everything. Even the need to use my phone with the controller was a non-issue for me. I thought it would bother me more and it wasn’t even a consideration. No ragrets….not even 1 letter. 😜🙃
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->I’ve got some flight time on mine as well and been very happy. This is my first so I don’t have a comparison basis but it has exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my purchase. 😎 I’ve heard there are ND filters coming from Skyrover but not sure an ETA.
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->This is the only drone I’ve owned so I can’t compare actual vs advertised times of others. The advertised time of the M4P and X1 are the same. I got my first flight in this weekend. I did a lot of takeoff and landing work and hovering as I was getting familiar with controls. I think these conditions suck more battery but that’s just my assumption. Others with more experience can pipe up. That said, my first battery got about 22 minutes before it went to auto land due to weak battery. The odd thing is I charged the night before to 100%. It had 4 solid green lights. When I turned on the drone about 18-20ish hours later to fly it did the 3-4 green light blink indicating 76-99% charge. I left the battery in the drone, in a non powered state, which to my thinking means it should have been 100% when I turned it on. Maybe there was a small trickle draw of some magnitude so maybe I should have pulled the battery out of the drone entirely. If there was some draw from leaving in then that may explain some of the 22 minute flight time opposed to the advertised 32 minutes. 🤷♂️
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->I went ahead and sprung for a hard case for the X1. Took a gamble on the Lykus case and things fit perfect. [https://a.co/d/3GXUVRB](https://a.co/d/3GXUVRB) Seems obvious they would but the hard lines of the DJI had me thinking I may need to trim some of the foam but nothing was required. Even the slightly different sized batteries fit fine. https://preview.redd.it/vlh9el969hmf1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4568aac98b201c7720190bf9f31632e556fa27f
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->It has FPV. You can toggle it on using the menu settings or for quicker access you can assign FPV to the FN button on the remote so it’s a 1 click operation.
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->I pulled the trigger on this 2 weeks ago as I needed a sub 250g drone for international travel I am making next month. My current Mini 3 Pro has 2 batteries that put it over the weight limit and buying new batteries was going to be costly. I have made 5 flights on the Skyrover so far. The images and videos have been amazing. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of interference so I can't venture out too far. RTH has been nearly dead solid perfect. The negatives are the controller and lack of accessories, but I received an email from Skyrover support via Amazon stating the accessories will be available in September on Amazon. They also mentioned there are no immediate plans for an all in one controller at this time. I got the Fly More kit for less than what it is currently selling for on Amazon. Hopefully the price will return back under $800. But in the interim, it's worth the cost and is far superior to the lower tier drones that do not have obstacle avoidance in my opinion.
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->I got mine 2 weeks ago. I hit the 400 foot level last weekend and obstacle avoidance has been outstanding. My largest distance has been over 3000 feet but that was in a high interference area. The image/video quality has incredible. Zero regrets.
r/dji • Skyrover X1 ->I pulled the trigger on it last week and received it yesterday. Since it was at night, I only hovered over my yard. Tonight I took it on its first full run around my neighborhood. I live in a high interference area but it performed equally as my DJI drones. Pretty easy to fly. I would highly recommend it especially at this price point.
r/dji • Anyone interested in a DJI MIni... sorry I mean a SkyRover X1? 48MP camera, 360 obstacle sensing, 32 minute flight time, I'd recommend the "fly more package." ->I bought it. It dropped another $80 while in transit. Amazon did give me a $30 giftcard after I was really annoyed it dropped so hard and fast right after I bought it. I am unable to get DJI to repair my mini 4 pro until they get more stock to the US so I got this as a backup. Its only $763, almost $100 less than I paid just a few days ago. I hate using the phone, but the way they designed the holder makes it feel easier to use. My case is small enough I don't have to remove it. Other than it feeling a little more aggressive, its the mini 4 pro in almost every way. The review in the video is what got me to purchase one. The video is completely spot on. I'm still flying large single rotor with a pocket 6k for bigger stuff, but I needed a working small unit to deploy for smaller projects.
r/dji • Anyone interested in a DJI MIni... sorry I mean a SkyRover X1? 48MP camera, 360 obstacle sensing, 32 minute flight time, I'd recommend the "fly more package." ->Here is a non-monetized video. Every video about it so far has been spot on. I wanted to show some out of the camera clips. The photos aren't actually 48mp. My understanding is that its 12mp but upscaled to 48. These photos compared to my 42MP Sony a7rii don't hold up. For quick photos its great. I bought one. I don't care if its a rebranded DJI or not. I just need something that works. A small drone to use for low pay quick shoots is what I needed and it delivers. I'm still attempting to repair my mini 4 pro, but for the price I highly suggest it. I actually wish I had bought this instead of the mini 4 pro 7 months ago. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoilZ5JrFZE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoilZ5JrFZE)
