Love the SkyRover X1 and fly it almost everyday!!!
There's one. The Skyrover X1 on Amazon is almost an exact clone of the Mini 4 Pro, right down to the software. The word is that it's actually made by DJI under a different name to get around the issue. I got one and have used it 3 times now and I can tell you it's EXACTLY like flying the Mini Pro series.
Why would anyone hate? Skyrover X1 is a great drone. I bought one for my father-in-law several weeks ago (I own a M4P). It's literally 98% the same. Flies great, lots of features. Camera is just as good as my M4P. Happy flying!
Bought one a couple of weeks ago. 8 or 10 flights as far as 1 mile and 400 ft altitude. Response to the controller is impressive. RTH is always within 6” of take off placement with 75% being within 2”. photo/video quality as good as any Action camera I have owned or better, in fact. Object avoidance is flawless. Whether set to stop or bypass obstacles, it just does what it is advertised to do. Stuck some yellow Master Airscrew props on. Easier to see in flight and maybe a bit quieter. The versions for the DJI Mini 4 Pro fit just fine, big surprise.😁
The DJI shell companies are the way to go. Got the Skyrover X1 and it's a Mini 4 in all but name.
Because of the unavailability of DJI drones in the U.S., I decided to try the Skyrover X1. Coming from flying the Marice 100, the Phantom series, and the Mavic 2 Pro, I was a bit skeptical, but hopeful given the positive reviews. I had never held a DJI mini drone, so when I opened the Skyrover box and held it in hand, I thought "damn, this is just a cheap plastic toy." But that thought was quickly dispelled after the first test flight. Smooth controls with no adjustments to gain or expo, much quieter than my other drones, and great range. The video quality is excellent. Overall, definitely worth the purchase. The one thing I hope they make available are ND filters. Paid around $800. for the fly more combo and it arrived from Malaysia 6 days after ordering. No customs hang ups or hidden import charges.
Just took ownership of a Skyrover X1. I've owned DJI drones. This thing feels exactly like the mini 4 pro. Same 1/1.3 camera sensor, software is almost identical as well. It's a fun toy to own. If I needed a drone for business, I'd go DJI. For the support. Otherwise, don't be afraid of the other brands.
It's missing a few things. You can't do hyperlapse with waypoints. It doesn't have remote ID so you can't do paid work with it in the US unless you put a remote ID module on it. And there's one or two cinematic effects that aren't available. It's also not compatible with DJI controllers or batteries. I have the X1 and I'm perfectly happy with it.
I'd be really upset if someone told me it was exactly the same and then I found out it doesn't have remote ID, the best part of hyperlapse is missing, the Mini 4 Pro ND filters and batteries don't fit, and the controllers aren't interchangeable. My intent is to answer the OP's questions and I think they're more concerned with how it performs than what's written on the inside parts.
