Fimi - Mini 3

DJI Mini 4K is certainly the best budget drone in the market. A few days ago I got the FIMI Mini 3 "Combo" (crappy combo I should say) for ~230€ on Aliexpress and it is certainly a better deal, but 4K (which is just a Mini 2 with an RC controller downgraded battery and lacking the public SDK) is the best at regular price. If your kid doesn't care about the camera quality, Neo is more fun to fly, especially if you get the Motion Combo (or just get the Motion/GN3 used in the future).

I have a DJI Mini 4 pro, and a Fimi Mini 3. In my area, flight is restricted via GPS on the DJI, which sucks. I flew it on vacation, inside my house, and drive to areas close by that are not restricted. However, I got the Fimi Mini 3 for use around my house. I applied for permission to inspect my roof multiple times with DJI-no luck. While the Fimi is less sophisticated, I have a blast flying it around my property. While I wish it had a reliable "follow me" feature like the DJI, I can still use it on walks in the woods, etc. I worry about it less. The controller I got needs a mobile phone to pair with the controller/app, but I had an old Android laying around, and I use that. It's well-worth the price. If you have no flight restrictions in your area, get the DJI, but otherwise the Fimi Mini 3 is a great value

FIMI always delivers two things: 1- BAD/VERY BAD quality control. 2 - BAD/VERY bad support. One other thing FIMI always got is the specs they publish they simply forget the asterisks and they do need always more than you would like to have if they'd pubished it beforehand. Some people swear by FIMI footage camera quality, reliable controls, and good quality but I doubt as they either, never had anything else to compare to or are lying/misleading. Both drones from FIMI wer brand new and they failed to deliver. The FIMI mini 3 arrived here with loose propeller screws but I knew I had to check those due to previous experience with the brand. The FIMI mini 3 camera and everything else is subpar compared to DJI and the Potensic Atom. I have had already two tries at FIMI drones they never delivered the specs promised on launch, there is always an asterisk and alot of "BUT" to their hardware specifications and software features. The most honest drone I know of to start with are Potensic Atom. That drones is ALOT of fun. The DJI mini 3 is great, got slightly better specs overall Than the Potensic but is also very limited by NFZ's and I rarely fly it.
