Everyone sticking with DJI, while they're risking being banned by fall in usa, including replacement parts. And potensic atom 2 was just 360$ at Costco with 3 batteries, simultaneous charging and plenty of spare pieces, case and strap for the controller.

That's good to hear. Mine will arrive today after 3pm and have already put aside 2hrs for tomorrow to get into it and learn all its controls. One thing I'll say is that I hate all the bashing on it from DJI fanboys. I wanted a drone for a while but never got the chance to do research till recently, and though it would be too expensive to get into. However for what you pay, especially with the costco deal they had till july 11th it was a no brainer for me, even at 400rn its a good deal. As a truck driver I know I'm gonna have a blast taking some footage of some of the cool places I travel to or quirky spots I gotta back into. The AI fallow features is what sold me on it tho, something only a lot more expensive DJI drones have.

I'm a (complete) newbie, and cannot speak to DJI at all. But, being worried about the ban (and the pricing) I chose a Potensic Atom 2 for my first drone. I've seen it called a "DJI knockoff" and it doesn't appear to have all the same features as the DJI it's competing with (Mini 4k/Mini 2 SE), but it cost about 25% less for the fly more kit on Amazon. I had it out on the beach on a mildly windy day, and it flew steady as a rock, shot some gorgeous video. Watching it hold position in a mild (5mph?) wind was pretty impressive, it was really active, and you can't see any of it in the video. (Again, I'm probably exposing my ignorance here.)

Potensic atom 2 drones are available on Amazon, it’s a great little drone. Not a DJI but almost as good for the price. I have the Atom 2 and DJI mini 4K, both are great drones.

You can get Autel and Potensic off of aliexpress easily. Just got a Atom 2 and my work ordered an Evo II 640 and they both shipped from US warehouses

I wish that the Atom 2 :could: use gps tracking. The SE had it. It’s a somewhat niche case, but having the drone follow a vehicle is easier with gps tracking. The AI tracking loses it every time a tree gets between you and the camera’s field of view. GPS tracking did fine with that. It’s my only complaint of the Atom 2, which is otherwise superior to the SE. Hopefully it is something that they can add with a firmware update.

The Potensic Atom 2 is a great <250g drone. If you add additional things like prop guards, you’ll need to pass trust but other than that you get a 4k video, 8k photos, an app that rivals DJI, insurance options like DJI, and more for <$400.

I can vouch for the Atom 2. It’s an amazing drone.

I have the atom 2, it’s been a solid drone with 10/10 customer service. I ended up with the “fly more” bundle basically after the discounts and stuff I was able to get all the accessories. Battery dock is 60w, 20w per battery and charges them simultaneously.

Potensic. Closest “other” brand I’ve used that comes close to DJi. The Atom 2 is actually a pretty good drone

I bought the Atom 2 about a month ago and think it’s fantastic! I’ve had zero issues. I did a months worth of research and chose Potensic over DJI, because I’m not wasting extra money for relatively the same features. No obstacle avoidance, no problem, just don’t fly it like an idiot! Going to get so much hate on here, but who cares! Join the Potensic subreddit!

I purchased the Potensic Atom 2 as soon as it came out. I don’t have the answers to your questions about the DJI Mini, but the Atom 2 is the best bag for your buck in my opinion. The Atom 2 has a Sony CMOS Sensor and captures 48MP photos and records 4K HDR videos at 30fps versus the DJI’s 12MP photos and 2.7K videos. The Atom’s 3-axis gimbal also offers advanced stabilization for smooth videos and photos. The Atom 2’s range is also insane with up to ~6 miles possible. Also because it weighs under 249 grams it doesn’t require FFA registration. Now throw in the Atom 2’s advance AI capabilities, Night Mode (looks amazing, recently filmed a rocket launch at 10pm) and creative shooting modes (dolly zoom, slow motion, quick shots, panoramic, etc) it is amazing for the price. They also offer drone insurance for only $50 bucks which gave me peace of mind too.

ill use the potensic so i can use a real vr headset instead of the crappy dji where you cant even turn the beepign off, and the pass thorugh is a joke it looks like your looking through a toilet paper roll. and the the p2p is too small to even make out anything its the ultimate dji always does sometihng to scew up their products and make them unsuable.

NO! You did not ! Atom 2 is a good “alternative” for DJI the atom 2 ai night mode is comparable to the dji night mode so for the price it’s a good buy don’t let these dji fan boys discourage you

Yup. I ordered that package from Costco and it arrived yesterday. Only had time to get a quick pop-up flight in back-yard - but the Atom 2 was so amazingly steady and surprisingly quiet.

I have considered between atom 2 and mini 3. Here at my place they are exactly the same price. But then i opted for atom 2. Even tho on paper , mini 3 is maybe better. I dont like the limitations set on the dji drones itself. I have mini 2.  For atom 2, u have the freedom. 

I would avoid DJI if I were you. The government doesn't like him anymore either. 6 months ago I bought the Potensic atom 2. Great little drone with a good camera

It's a great little drone. The fly more pack is about on par with DJI Mini and it has a few more features. I've had no major issues with mine and the quality is pretty acceptable. The Atom 2 is supposed to be a big improvement too

I just purchased a potensic atom 2 from Amazon. The reviews on YouTube have been very good. So far, I love it. Apparently, Dji drone may soon be banned from sale in the US. Most tout the as "the best" but if you are flying for fun do you really need the best? If you check out Captain Drone on YouTube, he has lot of reviews from many manufacturers.

If you're in the budget realm (~<$600), Potensic has a surprisingly good reputation. Don't expect fancy obstacle avoidance, but AI tracking, smart-shots, and overall quality are nothing to scoff at. Only the Atom 2 is really worth the mention, the others either lack AI tracking or *physical* 3-axis gimbal, I think both.

I read the reviews, and I’m convinced, and I bought the Atom 2. I’m not spending twice that for a DJI. I’m going to be using it for a whale watching trip in August, so it’ll have to be good enough to withstand ocean winds. I’ll report back on what I think after it gets used.

I have a Potensic Atom 2 and it’s really great. Especially if you’re looking for a camera drone. Has a lot of features. I’ve been looking at AUTEL for an enterprise drone with thermal for inspections and SAR.

I have the Atom 2 and love it. It has AI subject tracking and an AI night mode which I don’t think the Mini 3 has. It looks like the Mini 3 has a longer flight time though and overall better camera with its vertical shot capability. I think the Atom 2 is better/more comparable to a Mini 2 though which is the DJI model I’m more familiar with.

I just started flying. During Amazon Prime, there was a pretty good deal on the Fly More bundle for the Atom 2. Man, am I glad I found this little drone! As a beginner, it's just what I was looking for! The video quality is amazing; it has incredible stability; plus some of the other features you already mentioned. You're right, it does miss some of the bells and whistles of some other drones, but this thing is perfect for me for right now. I take this thing everywhere. (Much to the annoyance of my wife at times, but that's ok. Lol)

The Mini lines of drones are fine if you're looking more for film review (vs cinematic highlights). I used to have a $1k Autel Evo, it wrecked. Just bought a $400 Potemsic Atom. DJI is market leader, then a bunch of knockoffs that also work well enough.
