Meteor75 Pro is a beast. Preferably get a charger that is better than the stock checker/charger the meteor comes with. For goggles, you can check Skyzone Cobra SD, I have the Cobra X and I like them very much as they can be powered with external battery/cable. You can also use power bank to power them with usb-c. I believe that the only differences between X and SD is that SD have lower resolution and SD do not record DVR at 60 frames.
r/fpv • Good beginner setup? ->Slight counter-arguments: Beginner doesn't mean cheap. Of course it naturally makes sense to go for cheap on the thing that you are going to fly around and inevitably crash and break, but for the goggles, it may be a better choice to invest in a premium set of analogue goggles. You get better vision and should you want to exit the hobby if you decide it isn't for you, you're still able to sell them with very little depreciation as there are many people who've purchased cheap goggles that are looking to upgrade. Buying a premium radio isn't going to enhance too much of your experience at the start, so I'd agree with your choice, but the goggles will, so while the ev800d's are certainly a good choice on the cheaper end, looking at something like the Skyzone O4X or Pros may be worth going for. Alternatively, one might consider investing in the HDZero goggles with a full analogue setup as this will then give them options to fly HDZero in the future without any additional large purchases, or another option could be to get the DJI Goggles V2 (which are incredibly cheap on ebay), getting the BDI adapter and an analogue module, and then having the option to fly any DJI O3 quad (again without purchases). Analogue on any of these goggles is significantly better than the EV800D's. Indoor tinywhoops I'd also recommend the Air65 at this time. I'd argue that it isn't durable enough, but this is offset by the cost (it's really cheap!) and even if you opted to buy a more durable 65mm (which would probably fly worse and be heavier therefore crash harder), you're still better off just buying the air65 and if it does suffer a catastrophic failure, then buying a new one isn't too bad. Outdoors however, I'd probably recommend getting the Meteor75 Pro. While the Air75 is newer, lighter and probably flies slightly better, the Meteor75 Pro is a fantastic quad, more durable (in my opinion) and the package often comes with a couple of bats, a 1S charger (and more importantly voltage checker), and a few other bits and pieces. The Meteor75 pro can take significant hits and I'd also say that repairing it is easier. The most common issue with the 75Pro is the antenna getting knocked out of the little heatshrink on the VTX and then getting disconnected. I think this is probably a better trade-off than the UFL connector issues that the Air75 has, as well as the canopy being... well... one of those. Maybe they've fixed the UFL issues or maybe they haven't, but still, if I was starting again I'd go for the Meteor75 Pro over the Air75. The only difference would be if I planned to fly both inside and out with it, then I'd go with the Air75. But yeah, to be clear, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your suggestions. They are solid choices!
r/TinyWhoop • best beginner tinywhoop setup ->Meteor75 Pro
r/fpv • Looking for the best contraceptive for drones. Mines are keep multiplying ->the meteor 75 pro my reasons: - the frame's a tank that can take a good amount of beating - it genuinely has really good control authority - the c03 camera is one of the best looking tinywhoop cameras for analog - it's analog. you beat the hell out of it and it repairs/replacements doesnt cost too much - it's got a good following. pilots like butterflyfpv has extensive mods on it and UAVTech also did a video on PID changes. - really nice flight times with 450 to 550 1s batteries that are cheap - the new matrix aio is pretty good but even the cross f4 on the old 75 pro was fine. I was gonna mark the m03 vtx as a negative but the matrix has an inbuilt one. as long as you keep it cool and fly on lower power outputs, it should last a while. - really great for cruising and can handle a bit of wind - pretty sure spares are available in many places - I think the new one comes with motor connectors which is good for beginners and you can remove that when you're comfortable with soldering. disadvantages: - betafpv shipping time - hard to fly Indoors as a beginner - not something you take pictures with. damn I should've read first. feels like you just wanna get footage. that's cinewhoops
r/TinyWhoop • What is the best drone for beginners in YOUR opinion? ->Get a whoop. Small, can fly almost anywhere, inexpensive for learning fpv, less babysitting. Get Betafpv M75 pro. Near indestructible thus great for freestyle and can take a beating.
r/fpv • Fpv drone suggestions for a beginner ->I started 2 Months ago with Radiomaster Pocket and Velocidrone. Was a lot of fun. 1 Month ago I bought a BetaFPV Meteor75 pro an the EV800D for indoor and factory floor flying (at work afterhours). Lots of fun and crashing. But the Meteor75 pro is holding up great. Had to change at least 12 props by now :-)
r/fpv • As a complete beginner, what fpv drone should I get? ->Great recommendations all around, but I would say spend a bit more and invest in good goggles if you know you will stick to this hobby medium-to-long term. I tried two different low-end cheap box goggles from friends and it made me hesitant to get into analog (started with walksnail). But based on SchizoFPV's recommendation, I got myself a skyzone 04O pro with lumenier axii 2 omni/patch (RHCP) and it makes me want to fly analog everyday! Comfortable, portable, easy to use, and decent DVR (compared to the box goggles). You pay a premium up front but its worth it. I also have the radiomaster pocket and LOVE it. Will get the AG01 gimbles soon to upgrade the sticks. I have all three of the betafpv air65, air75, and meteor75 Pro. They are all AWESOME, and each serve a specific purpose. Air65 is incredibly precise and agile indoors (lower the cam angle and add expo to the rates), air75 is a raaaapid boi and soo much fun doing trippy spins around city architecture, and the meteor75 Pro is a freestyle juggernaut that I cannot wait to dive skyscrapers with come spring time. Don't want to turn this into a shameless self-promotional plug, but if you're curious about the 04O dvr quality and those quads, you can see on my IG page: [https://www.instagram.com/ksauce.fpv](https://www.instagram.com/ksauce.fpv)
r/TinyWhoop • best beginner tinywhoop setup ->This. Betafpv already has an 04 unit Meteor75 Pro. The original 75 pro was one of the most highly recommended whoop I've seen too.
r/fpv • What drone? (Indoor/ Forest) ->I started with a Meteor 75, then got a 75 Pro and finally went up to 2s with a Mob 8 and that's where I wish I had started. I like the meteors, but the mob 8 is quiet still and has so much oompf.
r/fpv • WHAT IS THE BEST STARTER DRONE ->quick question guys, I have a Meteor75pro O4 lite. im planning to get me a cinelog 30 v3, w/out the vtx if possible. could I use my 04 lite instead of getting a pro, will it fit?
r/fpv • First drone - whoop with O4 lite? ->meteor 75 is a pretty good option,i fly it indoors mostly it just takes some getting used to
r/fpv • Help me choose my first fpv drone please ->I wouldn’t fly a 75 in the house. It’s just not fun and it can break things a lot easier than a 65.
r/fpv • Help me choose my first fpv drone please ->I tried a 75 indoors for my first nonSIM flight. I flew straight into a window and cracked it. That’s why I wouldn’t tell a beginner to fly a 75 indoors. 😂
r/fpv • Help me choose my first fpv drone please ->BETAFTV Meteor PRO O4 air unit 5.5 minutes flight time runs on 1S 550mah
r/fpv • Which DJI o4 tiny whoop should I consider as a beginner? ->I will tell you how I started and everything I needed and I highly recommend. drone: Meteor 75 Pro analog tiny whoop 150$ goggles: HDzero BoxPro 350$+50$ shipping controller: Radiomaster Pocket ELRS 100$ sim: DRL sim 15$ (wouldn't recommend though, pretty floaty) other miscellaneous items: batteries: 8 550mah BetaFPV lava 1s 50$ spare props, canopy and frame: ~20$ cable and power bank: 20000mah PD power bank with usb-c to 5.5*2.1mm barrel jack PD 50$ About the goggles, I got the BoxPros which have both analog and HDzero so when I upgrade my setup I have HD capability. could opt out for analog only goggles for cheaper. If you go with the BoxPros make sure you get a PD power bank (could be called fast-charge or something similar) with at least 7 volt output, cable too. all together about 700$ for a great future proof tiny whoop setup.
r/fpv • I'm new to this, can anyone recommend a good starter drone with the remote and headset? ->Going digital is a good idea, but the neo is very underpowered, even for a beginner. I would say a Radio master Pocket (ELRS) and Meteor75 pro 04 is not just cheaper but also way more fun. If the neo crashes and breaks, you have to replace it. With the Meteor75, you can learn and repair it easily!
r/fpv • I'm new to this, can anyone recommend a good starter drone with the remote and headset? ->Well, the Fenton uses 2s Lipos delivering more power compared to the Meteor75 (pro). That means it isn't really for indoor flight but will fly well outdoors when there isn't too much wind. The Meteor75 can also fly outside, but won't rip as hard
r/fpv • I'm new to this, can anyone recommend a good starter drone with the remote and headset? ->I love my meteor 75 pro...
r/TinyWhoop • What is the best drone for beginners in YOUR opinion? ->I’ve got the Meteor75 Pro O4 and it’s super fun. Good power and easy to fly. I’m not a super experienced IRL pilot because my other quad was broken for a couple months, but I’ve flown nearly 100 hours in sims.
r/fpv • First drone - whoop with O4 lite? ->great quad but on mine, I get terrible video range and quality unless I am flying at 400mw...
r/TinyWhoop • What is the best drone for beginners in YOUR opinion? ->I think a motor connector on one of my rear motors is failing. I am sometimes getting intermittent power ..... the motor will fail to start on take off or it will causing twitching in flight. Happens randomly or after a few hard crashes but getting worse with time. Swapped out the motor to see if a difference. If still a problem, I will just direct solder all the motors.
r/TinyWhoop • What is the best drone for beginners in YOUR opinion? ->Real Talk, go with the Meteor. Mines gone through so much and is still kicking around.
r/fpv • WHAT IS THE BEST STARTER DRONE ->Meteor 75 pro is totally decent outside. Like $100 The yzmfpv lightning v2 is awesome for a 2”, or up could build up a baby turtle frame. Or you could get the meteor 75 pro and swap over to a baby turtle frame if you don’t want a “whoop”.
r/fpv • Best cheap fpv drone ->you can use the dji fpv controller 3 with the o4 air units! if you want to get something dedicated for elrs, the radiomaster pocket is an outstanding choice. in terms of drone/battery, the meteor75 o4 or the mobula7 o4 seem suitable for your purposes. you'll need 1s and 2s batteries respectively
r/TinyWhoop • Avata 2 owner looking for buying advice for controller/drone ->i would go with meteor cause it's 20g lighter than the pavo. it's also bigger (80mm wheelbase) surprisingly. alternatively, you can run 2s with the mobula7, so there's some extra power in that..
r/TinyWhoop • Avata 2 owner looking for buying advice for controller/drone ->I started on aquila16 about 2 months ago and harvested motors almost immediately, trash drone and batteries are useless. Just get a meteor 75 or 65, not the air unless you know your willing to solder. I started with 0 sim time and only have about 10 hours in, i also dont care if i break my drones flying them so i do break allot. Buildings half the fun for me
r/fpv • Drone Build ->Air 65 or meteor 75 pro
r/fpv • Help me choose my first fpv drone please ->I would go for the Meteor 75 Pro. Good camera / vtx protection and has long battery life. BetaFPV / Lava 550mah batteries fit perfect in it. Also put a piece of black tape behind the camera to prevent sunlight showing the pcb on the camera.
r/TinyWhoop • Best long range and heavy duty 1s whoop for semi beginner in fpv? ->I have been in the exact same situation a couple weeks ago. I ended up buying a meteor 75 pro, already had a pair of analog goggles next to my DJI goggles. as others have mentioned I have read a lot that the small tiny whoops are not really a good fit for 04 unit. While you can make it work, they are really too heavy for the size and will make your quad Sluggy. analog video quality is good enough to just bash around your backyard. As for radios, I can second the recommendation for the radio master boxer or pocket. I also have an air65 in the mail. The meteor 75 is a challenge to fly in tight indoor spaces. I do plan to get a 2 or 2.5 inch quad with an 04 pro at some point though.
r/TinyWhoop • Avata 2 owner looking for buying advice for controller/drone ->the vtx is horrible, but every other reason u/boywhoflew outlined, i back up completely. the VTX is adequate for learning. also, there are many .stls for adapters allowing you to mount a TBS unify to the canopy, then all your bases are covered. there is one vulnerability in the meteor: the connector from cam to vtx will eventually break, and the motor connectors fail after a while too. thankfully the vtx has big fat pads on the opposite side of the connector, and motors can be direct soldered. these fixes are great intros to soldering. even given these issues, the meteor’s durability shits on any other bnf whoop. i use its frame and canopy on all my customs
r/TinyWhoop • What is the best drone for beginners in YOUR opinion? ->definitely recommend doing them all. if you want one more bandaid before having to do work at the bench, crank up the minimum startup power in your ESC configurator
r/TinyWhoop • What is the best drone for beginners in YOUR opinion? ->Crux35 @ $150, Baby Ape pro v2 @ $125 or Foldape 4 @ $115? I got Avatar X and Meteor 75 pro and want to add some range and flytime to my experience but doing so on a budget so decide to give analog a go. I got eachine pro58 and looking for a drone that will mostly be for cruising so range and fly time is what I mostly looking for with some light freestyling for fun. I was going for the foldape being the cheapest and having gps and longest fly time but the poor gps, foldable frame and 3s got me rethinking so now I'm trying to pick between: Don't have time to build my own so need a bnf but might be ok with upgrading a bnf if its relatively simple and not too expensive. Which would you go with?
r/drones • Drone Buying Advice Megathread and NEW Wiki Buying Guide ->Absolutely not. Too expensive, too proprietary, too much extra junk. Get a ELRS controller like Radiomaster Boxer or Pocket, get comfortable in a simulator like Uncrashed, then get a tinywhoop like a meteor65 or meteor75 and go from there. Youll also of course need some goggles when you step into the real drone.
r/drones • Is the DJI Avata a good beginner FPV drone? ->Oh yeah digital is totally worth it. I have a ton of fun with my BetaFPV Meteor75 Walksnail. The video quality from the O4 Lite is even better.
r/fpv • Digital or analog micro drone? ->Ditto. Meteor75 Pro O4 is great. Just got finished ripping mine around in front of my house with my Radiomaster Pocket and Goggles N3. Highly recommend that setup.
r/fpv • I'm new to this, can anyone recommend a good starter drone with the remote and headset? ->Femto will be more capable outdoors since it's more powerful. It will also keep the props out of view even with a low camera angle. It will be a lot harder to fly indoors though if that's something you're interested in, and batteries are more expensive. Personally, if I had to start over from scratch, I'd get the exact kit you outlined in your post (DJI N3, Meteor75 Pro 04, and RM Pocket). Then after flying that for awhile I'd buy another, larger drone specifically for outdoors.
r/fpv • First drone recommendations ->Try the meteor75 Pro. It's durable as hell and it's versatile. Has plenty power for outdoors but enough control authority for indoors. With this drone indoor wise it's more of a concern that something else will be broken than the drone, so set a throttle cap. I've seen advanced pilots freestyle this thing indoors.
