Ceado E37S. It can grind 19g in 4.4 seconds which I really appreciate because my old Rocky doserless used to take forever. $1550 in 2019. Looks like they’re currently $1299 on WLL! Just when I thought all prices have gone up…
Regular hopper (Ceado) and Philos for decaf and messing around with single doses
Where some of the ultra high end grinders are awesome, they all have flaws too. I didn’t want the weber as it is too slow and can stall, something I hated on my Ceado (the stalling, that thing is fast). Currently use the Philos and MK e65w, not extreme but a good enough balance with the Micra at about 1:1 costs grinders vs machine. I would have loved an actual dream model like the Sanremo x-one but it doesn’t fit my kitchen and it is a bit of a hard sell at 8k+
Mazzer Philos i200d at home, Ceado E37S at the office. Both spectacular, just very different use cases.
Ceado E37S, got it “on sale” for $1500 3 years ago. Made in Italy, built like a tank, total overkill for me. If I did it over again I’d get a single doser. But I am happy with it, grinds well, relatively quiet and very easy to fine tune the grind size. I keep the hopper full with my everyday espresso beans. When I want something special I use a Kinu hand grinder.
My Ceado E37J is super quiet, might be able to find a used one for cheaper.
I would put it a vote for Ceado e37s for espresso and kinu with pour over burr for pour overs. Love both and have other grinders I compared too
I currently have the mokkom 64 and it seems okay, however I’ve had this feeling that it is adding to many fines. I’ve struggled to dial things in with it. I finally decided to stop trying to chase some of the inconsistencies with these china grinders at a really low price point and ordered a Ceado E37S. Probably a bit above the price range you listed but for me I just wanted to take the grinder out of the picture. For the cost tho at $180 USD I’m not sure the mokkom 64 can be beat and given enough time one can probably make it work.
I will say yes I have a Bodem for drip and French press a Ceado 37 for espresso and a hand grinder for when I'm traveling. Sold my ECM for the Ceado.
